Blue: When my ex walks into the resort bar with his new husband on his arm, I want nothing more than to prove to him that I’ve moved on. Thankfully, the sexy stranger sitting next to me is more than willing to share a few kisses in the name of revenge. It gets even better when those scorching kisses turn into a night of fiery passion. The only problem? Turns out the stranger’s brother is marrying … stranger’s brother is marrying my sister later this week.
Tristan: I have one rule: no messing with the guests at my vineyard resort. Of course the one exception I make turns out to be the brother of the woman my brother’s about to marry. Now we’re stuck together for a week of wedding activities, and there’s no avoiding the heat burning between us.
So fine, we make a deal: one week. One week to enjoy each other’s bodies and get it out of our system. Once the bride and groom say I do and we become family, it’ll all be over between us. Right?

Borrowing Blue is the first book in the Made Marian series by Lucy Lennox. While I have read several of Lucy’s newer books, I haven’t had a chance to start this series, even though I’ve been intending to for a long time. I finally did and I’m completely in love. This is one of those books where I want to highlight every other sentence because it’s all so amazing. Where I swoon so much it’s a wonder I’m not passed out! Where I smile and sigh and gasp and just wallow in the awesomeness of it all!
Blue Marian is part of a huge, successful, close knit family. His baby sister, Simone is getting married and they’re holding the wedding at a nearby winery. On Blue’s first night there, he sees his ex who is there with a date, a very young date, and he decides to head to the bar to drink away his feelings. Only a very sexy stranger sits next to him and offers to help him get his own revenge with the hottest kiss of his life. A kiss from a man who is gorgeous, funny, kind, and oh so very straight.
Tristan is the owner of Alexander Vineyard. He felt drawn to the man in the bar. Maybe it was just an excuse, helping him to get back at his ex, by kissing him. Because it was all he could think about doing. He had to have his lips on him. One kiss led to two and it was clear there would never be enough. Blue would be at the vineyard for a week for all of the pre-wedding festivities. So why couldn’t they spend the week together and enjoy this undeniable connection before it was time to part ways? The only problem is that the man that Blue’s sister is marrying? It just happens to be Tristan’s brother!
“His body was like a playground and I wanted to be the only kid allowed on it.”
As the week progresses, Tristan and Blue’s attraction turns into more. Feelings grow. Not to mention the chemistry. These two don’t waste any time getting to know each other’s bodies. At the same time, their week includes plenty of wine, crazy grannies, and a lot of family chaos which it seems the Marion family is good at.
“I had known him for ten seconds and I already felt as if he was as critical to my survival as food and water.”
This book was everything I hoped it would be and more. So many giggle moments. So many swoony moments. So many steamy moments! I’m only one book in and I’m already in love with this family. There is no way I’m not continuing the series. The next full book in the series is Taming Teddy which is Blue’s brother, Jamie’s story. I can’t wait.
A graphic artist, a vintner, & siblings walk into a winery…
I am in love with this series! I am coming late to the party, having read the Forever Wilde series first. But I recommend reading all of them! This book introduces the whole crazy Marian family, and the Alexander clan. From Aunt Tilly, Granny & Irene, all with no filters, to real family angst, an idiot ex, and a love for the ages, this book has it all.
Gathered at the Alexander Winery for a week of pre-wedding fun & reunions, Blue Marian never expects to fall for the owner, Tristan; especially since his sister is marrying Tristan’s brother. And, Blue thinks Tristan is straight. Wrong! Craziness ensues. There will be angst, heartbreak, hot sex, lots of firsts, and a dog that is to cute for words.
Come. Join them on their journey to HEA. You will be glad you did.
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
I loved this story so much! It had a lot of heart and fun and heartbreak and a few moments of oh no! Our characters are loveable and the families are full of antics!
Some surprises happen to keep our leading men on their toes and a test to their relationship.
I enjoyed the dynamics of it wasn’t so cut and dry and easy but it also wasn’t things they couldn’t get past!
After reading a new Lucy Lennox book and enjoying it, I decided to go back to her beginning and probably her most popular and recommended series. I actually really liked both Blue and Tristan. I enjoyed their personalities and connection. They had definite chemistry. I usually do not like insta-love books, but everything in this book seemed to move at rapid pace so it did not bother me too much. I liked the twist from a typical GFY book since Tristan’s situation was a bit different. And I loved that he had no trouble owning up to what he wanted and who he was.
I enjoyed the winery setting for their siblings’ wedding. There is a lot of family dynamics, many characters introduced, some angst, a scheduled endpoint. There are a lot of sex scenes throughout and I will admit though hot it sometimes got a bit repetitive. But overall I genuinely loved Blue and Tristan together. I did find it odd that most of a group of biological brothers and three adoptive brothers would all be gay and that the sister would decide to marry a homophobe. And there were definitely some other eye-rolling moments and things that just seemed off or just a bit too much. But Blue and Tristan were wonderful together. I am interested mostly in reading about his country star brother, Jude.
What starts off as a fake relationship quickly turns into more – so much more. The chemistry between Blue and Tristan cannot be ignored – it’s tender, sexy, and oh so hot. The character development for both Blue and Tristan is amazing. They are in-depth and well rounded. The plot is full of drama and humor which is a joy to read. The secondary characters are utterly hilarious and I ended up loving them just as much as I loved Tristan and Blue.
Michael Pauley does such a wonderful job with the narration. I’ve love listening to this audiobook. I laughed and gasped in shock with the characters during his performance.
Overall Rating: 5 Stars. This book is amazing and it starts off a spectacular series. The writing is lovely and so well done. I can’t recommend this book enough.
I’ve read this author before. This is is mm contemporary story set in the USA. main character are Blue and Tristan. Lovely story with great humor mixed in. Great start to this series. I’ll read more from this series and more from this author.
