Read the first three books in the Borrowing Amor series, where New Mexico meets small-town romance.Chile peppers, hot air balloons and white sand dunes mix with a small-town mayor, a fake fiancé, and a second chance at love.Borrowing Amor:A small-town mayor. A stranger with a sketchy past. Two weeks before Christmas, Katie is kicked out of her apartment. Again. Rather than wander the streets and … apartment. Again. Rather than wander the streets and continue to work for a dirty cop, she escapes, determined to disappear for good. Until her car breaks down in a small New Mexican town, and everything is threatened when she falls for the charming mayor.
Sam Freedman is the first bachelor mayor of Amor. After convincing the locals that having a mayor without family responsibilities means he can dedicate all of his time to the community, they watch his every move. Then Katie Andersen shows up. Against Sam’s better judgement, he hires her to replace his former event coordinator. Now he can barely think straight, let alone run a town.
In the midst of half-truths and outright lies, Katie and Sam desperately search for the place where honesty and trust lead to love. But they have to find it before the past catches up with them.
Borrowing Love:
It’s better to have loved and lost, they said. They were wrong.
Ruby Freedman hasn’t left the small town of Amor in four years–not since her husband died. The memory of his fateful accident was enough to cause her to sell her airplane, and never ride in a car again. Then Parker Loveland comes back to town. Now she has to add him to her list of things she intends to avoid.
After years away, Parker Loveland is back in Amor to celebrate his parents’ thirtieth wedding anniversary. He has worked hard to escape the clutches of his hometown, but when he runs into Ruby, the only girl he cared about in high school, and the only one that ever stood him up on a date, he’s torn between the embarrassment he felt more than a decade before, and his desire to be around her.
Caught between memories of the past and fear of the future, it will take leaving Amor to help Ruby and Parker find the second chance they didn’t know they were looking for.
Borrowing a Fiancé:
She wanted freedom. She got a fiancé instead.
Melinda Garrett has been stuck managing her parents’ diner for over a decade, with no end in sight. When her younger sister gets engaged, Melinda reluctantly agrees to attend the wedding with her friend, Daniel. But when the pressure is on, she claims he is her fiancé, in hopes that her parents’ opinion of selling the diner will change.
Daniel Armstrong isn’t the kind of guy a girl takes home to meet her parents, but when he offers to attend a wedding as Melinda’s date, he finds himself labeled as her future spouse. Now, challenges lie around every corner, testing Melinda’s claim that she and Daniel are in love.
With every touch and fake kiss, the line blurs between fiction and reality, and it seems inevitable that at least one heart will be broken by the end of the weekend.

Borrowing Amor: I like that this book starts & ends with suspense & a dirty cop. There is a second chance to find an honest life & love in the middle. Great story. Can’t wait to read more by this author.
Borrowing Love: I am so much thrilled with this story. After starting it, sleeping the night, I had to finish it before doing anything else. I think the struggles Ruby is facing after 3 deaths is so true to life. Some people just are so bound up with fears that they isolate themselves. But Parker comes back into her life & it’s “game on”. He is just the right person for her. He has his issues that create a little “hick-up” & that is needed for him to get over his “marriage has to be perfect”. You have to read this story. Kate Bellemore is one of my favorite authors.
Borrowing a fiancé: Very interesting story. When Melinda starts telling a lie to get want she wants & get her parents off her back she has to continue to tell more lies. That’s not always a beneficial action. Does it work? You have to read the book to find out. It didn’t happen the way I thought it would & that’s all I can say w/o giving away the ending. I really like the story a lot. I received an ARC copy & this is my honest, voluntary opinion.
Wonderful series! Each story has great characters and entertaining storylines! I enjoyed every minute spent with this set of stories.
I like the or four books in series together
It was a good read.
Set reality aside and enjoy this highly improbable but sweet and amusing set of circumstances. Each builds upon the last story in a town called love.
Characters with real life feelings who find romance in ways that readers can enjoy.
Good reading. Excellent writing
Stand-alone stories with interconnected characters. Book 1: Katie, a homeless woman living a life based on lies and deception, rather than being grateful for a second chance at Amor, throws her weight around. Sam is such a sweet guy for tolerating Katie.
Loved Parker and Ruby’s story in Book 2 and also Daniel and Melinda’s story in Book 3. Thank you Kat.
Epic, Clean Romance in New Mexico
This set of romance novels all occur in Amor, New Mexico. The first book is a sweet and clean, straightforward romance. The second is a second chance romance, but there is 2-Hanky sadness to get past to enable that second chance. Book 3 is a fun rom/com that ties up all of the loose ends. You will need to binge read this set! In all, this is an epic story of a lifetime because we each bring an entire lifetime to the table when we fall in love. I received this set of books for free and this is my honest review.
Borrowing Christmas #1 – This is my first read by this author and I enjoyed the storylines. The characters are interesting, funny and sincere. Many good things happen in this cute, quickly read second chance at starting over and a first for romance. Learning to trust is difficult when coming from a bad background, but buckling down instead of under is most of the battle. This story is better than I expected. I found this book on Booksprout. 4*
Borrowing Love #2 – Personally I would read this book after reading Borrowing Time, it’s the before to this after story. This is a sadder, more toned down book than Borrowing Christmas. I liked all of the characters, especially Zoe; but Ruby, poor girl, had a hard row to hoe. She lost all her family except her brother and four years later is still lost. An old high school friend comes to town and shakes her up. The good storylines moved at a fast paced keeping the reader’s interest. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout. 4*
Borrowing a Fiance #3 – This is my favorite of the series, more than Borrowing Christmas, which I love. It is hilarious; the stuff that goes on in this story had my sides hurting from laughing so much. The characters are really likeable and loveable. The storylines mesh well with the characters growing into who they should become while discovering what is important. The white sands of NM are an important character too.
This fast paced story is very entertaining and quickly read. There is so much more to this story, but this is a review, not a book report. If possible, but not necessary read Borrowing Christmas first to get the foundation to this story. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout. 4*
Borrowing Time #4 – It was difficult to read this book since I had already read the third book of the series; spoilers. I actually think this book should be read before Borrowing Love since it’s about how Ruby and Clark met and their romance. Of course, I read them backwards and I suffered since I knew their future already. A quick, entertaining read with interesting storylines and characters, humor and dogs. This is a good story but Borrowing Christmas is my favorite. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through her newsletter. 4*
Borrowing Kisses #5 – It is always delightful to return to Amor and watch the next couple journey to their wedding. Zoe’s a little bit of a nut, but she’s always been a good character. Her love interest is an interesting addition to the series. This is a well written, clean series with good characters and good storylines. The characters from this small town are part of each book in this series, making it a good experience reading the next addition. There’s always humor, love and understanding in each book. After reading so many, it’s hard to review without a book report wanting to emerge. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout. 4*
The characters in the three stories are interconnected.
In Borrowing Christmas, Katie is on the run from a crooked cop, who has been forcing her to do illegal work for him when she falls for Amor’s mayor Sam. Her friend Daniel saves her, Sam gives him a job with the town, and his romance is in book 3. Sam’s sister Ruby’s romance is in book 2.
In Borrowing Love, Ruby is afraid to fly and afraid to ride in a car after her parents died in a car accident and her husband died in a plane accident. Parker had a crush on Ruby in high school, but he never got over her standing him up for a date. When he realize it is the pain of her losses that causes her recent actions to him like saying she can’t stand the smell of his cologne and breaking off a date because she won’t get in a car, he feels bad for the way he treated her. Parker was jerk to her at first. I was surprised that Ruby would go on an overnight trip with him when she didn’t know him that well and she hadn’t been in a car in four years and that he would invite her knowing he had only book one hotel room. There were plenty of funny moments in book that overcame some of the awkwardness. Ruby’s sister-in-law Zoe was funny and deserves her own romance.
In Borrowing a Fiancé, Melinda just wants to the escape the family diner that’s she’s been forced to run for the past ten years. Her cooks Devon and Claire should be the ones running it, but her parents still refuse to sell it to them even though they promised she would only run it for a few years and she won’t let Devon and Claire lose their dreams so she’s stuck. And now she’s forced to go her sister Bree’s wedding, the one she thinks was the golden child who got everything she wanted. Little does she know her sister is engaged to a man she hates and that she was forced to choose a career she’s unhappy with. Her best friend Daniel is supportive through the whole thing even going along with a fake engagement. But will his past catch up with him or will he finally get the girl of his dreams? There was a lot of humor and drama in this romance. I wanted to shake Melinda’s mother and grandmother although her father was a riot. Daniel was a great guy with a troubled past and Melinda had to overcome a lot of misconceptions about herself too.
