enjoyed this book but had to wade through parts of it
I really liked this book.
Great story and very original, interesting characters. It has kind of a Jane Eyre quality. The wealthy mother of an irascible, angry Scottish invalid has asked a young widow, strapped for cash, to marry him and try to help him. It involves slavery, abolitionists, a dark past from both the widow and the invalid. Really involved, interesting, …
One of my favorite Regency romances, and the set-up to a really good trilogy.
Loved this book and can’t wait to finish the series
