Appearances. . .A sad, strange coincidence. . .that’s Dr. Kacey Lambert’s initial response to the deaths of two women who bear an uncanny resemblance to herself. It’s not like there was any real connection between Kacey and the B-movie actress or the elementary school teacher. But Detective Selena Alvarez suspects otherwise. Can Be. . .One of the bodies contained traces of poison at the … bodies contained traces of poison at the time of death. Selena and her partner, Detective Regan Pescoli, can find no motive for murder. But Kacey has started to notice ties between the dead women’s lives and her own–all close in age, born within miles of each other. And all have links to Trace O’Halleran, the man Kacey just started dating.
Deadly. . .
The deeper Kacey digs, the more reason she has to fear. More look-alikes are dying, and the killer is getting bolder and more brutal. And Kacey knows it’s only a matter of time before hers is the next name on a list of those who were born to die. . .

Another of Lisa Jackson’s books that keeps you reading late at night.
Have read series, enjoyed all.
This is the third book in the Selena Alvarez and Regan Pescoli series.
Kacey Lambert is a physician in the small town of Grizzly Falls. After a famous actress is found dead in California, one of the nurses in her practice tells Kacey the actress had an incredible resemblance to Kacey. Then, Kacey examines a young boy who explains that Kacey looks just his teacher. A few days later, she goes to the hospital for her rounds and one of the nurses is so relieved to see her. When Kacey asks why, the nurse says that a Jane Doe had arrived at the hospital and she looked practically identical to Kacey.
Kacey starts wondering why women are dying that resemble her and the police aren’t finding any correlation between the women other than their resemblance. Who would be going around dong this? And why?
***** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *****
Woah, what a fabulous story! I can honestly say that I didn’t see this storyline coming and it was just GREAT!! This crime-solving duo is my favorite female partners, even if it seems like they worked this case more separately than together. Detective Alvarez was definitely more the leading this one with the case. Detective Pescoli was a bit busy with her personal life. I was hoping that everyone stayed the course for Selena after the last book but it was probably more accurate, and a bit refreshing to see the family pretty much return to their same ol’ antics. Anyways, I found the plot to be thick and I do love it when we have the crazies at work instead of a deep and sinister plot (it was sinister but really, the reasoning was more crazy than really logical).
The narration is great! I’m so happy Brilliance Publishing has kept the same narrator throughout these first few audiobooks. If they continue to remake them, I really hope they continue to use Natalie Ross. I’ve enjoyed her accents, which immediately let me know which detective I am listening too. I also feel like I really can relate to exasperation tha she adds to Selena’s voice and tone, especially when dealing with her unruly teens.
Thank you Brilliance Publishing for the complimentary copy of this audiobook with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
I loved this book. The first I have read in this series and it won’t be the last . Great characters with a wonderful storyline. Can’t wait to read another book in this series
Every now and then I enjoy a good serial killer mystery. I enjoy Mary Higgins Clarke: great suspense, not too gory, not too much sex. This was my first Lisa Jackson, and I found it gripping. I will probably be back for more next time I want to scratch that itch.
I liked the book. It kept me engaged. It was a little scary in parts.
Great read!
