Thank goodness that by the time I had read book 1, book 2 was already out and I could just dive straight in – after the cliffy at the end book 1 I’m not sure I would’ve survived the wait to see what happened next in this one!!
Claire is free of Shepherd’s clutches and fighting her best for her beliefs. But little by little she is seeing that maybe her beliefs aren’t quite as black/white as she first thought.
The plot thickens with Svana and Corday and the whole resistance thing. We learn a lot more about Shepherd and his upbringing. Both Shepherd and Claire’s characters have grown an awful lot in this book. Shepherd is still the growling Alpha asshole antihero, but Claire is his light, and the push and pull between these two is just wonderful. Claire is going through a lot, and has a lot to learn, going down the martyr road in attempt to fight for her beliefs??
It is still a very dark and harsh read, not everyone will like this, with lots of triggers in here. Personally I can’t wait to read the next one, to see how this will pan out, will they get a HEA ending with everything that’s going on??
Straight on to book 3 for me now, thank goodness its out!!!
*4.5 Stars*
The majority of the book I absolutely loved. Claire…just wow. She’s amazing and for the most part a fighter. However, she began to wear on me a bit and it started to become annoying. Shepherd I continued to love despite the moments of hate. I enjoyed most seeing the character development in book 2. It really began to sing for me especially the secondary characters finally being given more development as well.
The author also began to really fill in the blanks of the world and it kept me interested. There were so many twists and turns I didn’t know who or what to hope for which is always enjoyable (even if it’s frustrating).
Definitely recommend!
5+ Omegaverse Stars
Holy Hell I love Addison Cain and this Omegaverse world that she has created. Much like the first book in this series I was riveted. Life pretty much ceased to exist once I started reading. When I first started this series someone told me that it wasn’t finished. I knew that I had to wait until they were all out before I proceeded any further. Finally, I was told that Claire and Sheppard were going to have a conclusion so I started the series again. Boy, oh Boy, how I managed to go months without reading this disfunctional, crazy, but hot as Satan’s mistress couple I do not know.
Claire. Sweet holy hell. This girl is a fighter. I love her. Rather than just accept that she is a weaker person because she is an Omega she uses that to her advantage. There is no glass ceiling for her. She is playing the game and playing it well.
Sheppard. Despite the despicable things he has done he still has a softer side. That softer side is Sheppard. We learn more about his history in this book and what makes him the way that he is. He has demons and because of those things he yearns for that connection or human touch so to speak. He wants acceptance and adoration. He wants to be loved.
Together these two are HOT. Like 3rd degree blister hot. I want to see them happy. I want to believe that this relationship is real and not just some forced pair bond.
Off to read the third book. Looks like my life will be at a standstill again. Who needs a clean house or sleep anyway?!
The second book in the series. It starts right where Born to be Bound left off. What I enjoyed about this book is that we get more background into the history of the Dome. There is also more insight in the characters and what drives them. Claire struggles, but tries so hard to be strong which is great to see. And I am rooting for Claire and Shepard
This is a awesome very well written, original series!! I am enjoying it immensely!!
This is book two in the Alpha’s Claim series and it picks up right where Born to Be Bound lets off – This is not a stand-alone
Addison Cain manages to take something so dark and twisted and recreates it into possibilities that are breathtakingly beautiful – leaving even me to question who is good and who is evil –
Claire has escaped but she is physically and emotionally broken – Her character is such an enigma for me, she believes so devotedly in her fight to save her beloved city as well as the lives of the omegas – and at times she shows such strength and determination but then moments later her innocence and naivety shine through – not sure if it is endearing or annoying
Shepherd is actually starting to make sense – I don’t know if I should be concerned about that or not- He definitely lacks the ability to truly connect or communicate on an emotional level He is able to see what needs to be done on a clinical level and he does what he needs to accomplish the desired results – though at times he seems blind to the motivations of those around him – his denial of these things may be his downfall
The chemistry between Claire and Shepherd is literally explosive – “I want a pony too, Shepherd No, forget that. I want a F@@ing unicorn!” “You may not have a pony, and unicorns don’t exist” and so is how their relationship goes – not sure which one is the actual tnt in this relationship
I do want to mention Jules real quick – something about him is different – I can not place it but I feel he is going to play a significant role in book 3
