Surrender is not survival.
Claire is desperate. Her once thriving city lies in ruins. The strongest of the three human dynamics, Alphas, have grown feral. Common Betas circle like vultures. The lowest in the hierarchy, rare and weak Omegas like Claire, are being destroyed. Sheltering amidst a dwindling enclave of frightened Omega women, Claire cannot provide enough to feed them all; her friends … her friends are starving.
All due to one escaped convict’s violent rise to power.
Shepherd is every bit as ruthless as his reputation suggests, but Claire cannot continue watching her friends suffer. Her last recourse is to beg the most powerful Alpha in the city for aid.
Up close, the sheer size of Shepherd, the raw power of the man, terrifies her. But he may be her only hope.
Before she can render her plea, Claire’s disguise and careful plans fail. Despite taking every possible precaution, she is captured. The moment the Alpha senses her, Claire’s worst nightmare is realized: Shepherd, discovering a rare Omega in his midst, claims her like a prize, forcing a pair-bond that ties her to him forever.
Claire becomes his.
Shepherd keeps his wayward mate locked away where only he might enjoy her and refuses to help her fellow Omegas unless they, too, are irrevocably bound to favored soldiers of his choosing. Claire cannot allow such a thing. She fights her instincts and his will, because no matter how many times he’s knotted her, how manipulative the bond might be, she despises what he’s done.
She escapes.
And Shepherd vows he will hunt her down – ready to burn the city to ash if he has to. Because Claire is his. His mate.
The first book in Addison Cain’s exciting, raw, and suspense-filled Omegaverse trilogy is a dark tale with explicit sexual themes and complete power exchange. If such material offends you, please do not purchase.

Read the complete series. Absolutely wonderful.
Well I am left questioning what I have just read!! Claire goes to get help for her fellow omega’s, but instead she ends up being captured by the ruthless alpha Shepherd. This does end with a huge cliffy, however it is well written and is dark, brutal, and filled with drama, which had me enthralled throughout. Looking forward to reading more in this series.
Born to Be Bound by Addison Cain is book One in the Alpha’s Claim Series. Claire comes forward to get up for her fellow omega group. They are starving and in need of help so she places herself in danger to ask for the help. While being around the Alphas she ends up going into heat which places her into more danger. Claire is taken by the current Alpha Shepherd where a mating bond is hurt and there are trust issue. This book flirts with a romance story but for me it has been a total one at all. It does end with a massive cliffhanger too. Overall this book kept me interested so I will be heading toward the next installment.
First off this book is slightly confusing , it talks of Alpha’s , Beta’s & Omega’s but never actually tells you what their animal is (i’m guessing cat since they purr ) or if there’s an animal , it doesn’t say if they shift & if they are cats why are they building nests ??? . Now that gripe is out of the way i loved the start of this book , Claire risking it all to get her fellow Omega’s a chance at life even at the cost of her own , what she didn’t take into account was the reaction of the King of the Alpha’s to her going into heat & that’s where we go downhill again slightly & the book becomes all about the sex with very little in the way of a break from it until about three quarters of the way through & boom you start getting little hints of a fantastic story to come , it is definitely worth sticking with as i promise the ones to come after this will keep you up until random o’clock with the need to find out what happens next , a slow start but an intriguing one .
Claire O’Donnell is an Omega and is trying to find a way to get food for the women in Thalos. She is trying to mask her scent as she knows she is walking into an area of Alpha men and could be attacked or worse.
Shepard is the new Alpha of Thalos and is in control of the area since escaping the Undercroft and overthrowing the previous government. He is looking for an Omega to submit to him and produce heirs to rule after him.
But Claire is willing to submit but when she is “claimed” by Shepard will she be able to escape and save the other Omega women? When Claire finds an unlikely protector will she be able to trust him and can he keep her safe?
I wasn’t too sure what to expect as I began reading this book but the further along I got the more I enjoyed it and began to get hooked. There were definitely some questions I had and I wasn’t sure if this was a completely new series or a continuation of a previous one.
I really liked Claire and her ability to go through so much and still not give up in spite of everything she was being put through. My heart broke for what she went through with Shepard and the pain that she was in because of him. Yet somehow Claire never gave up and managed to find her own way out.
I did not like Shepard at all. It was clear he was creating a dangerous society and things had become dangerous and difficult for so many people in Thalos. He was very powerful and took whatever he wanted, especially from Claire.
At first I was a little worried about Corday but he proved himself extremely loyal, almost to a fault. I loved how he was willing to do whatever he could for Claire and was willing to take the risk and face everything that could possibly come his way.
The end was so maddening as Claire put her trust in the wrong person and was punished because of it. My heart really broke for her and I hope somehow she can gain the strength and will back in the next book!
4.75 stars.
The Omegaverse genre is new to me, but I’m starting to really like the sci-fi/dystopian world that is in this genre. I put off reading this genre forever because of the class names: Alpha/Beta/Omega rubbed me the wrong way….idk it seemed kind of cheesy to me. The social stratification, power imbalances, and people fighting against the system is really appealing to me though. I like the bio-weapon element that was briefly discussed in this book (when the Enforcers discussed that Shepard was in possession of the disease, Red Consumption). I’m also intrigued by the Undercroft, and Shepard’s mysterious past…I’m hoping there’s more information about how he was born there in the coming books.
Wow…heavy…Claire is an Omega sent to the Citadel to ask the head Alpha, Shepherd for help feeding the starving Omegas. He takes her claims her and bonds her to him. With no love or affection, he continually forces himself and his plans on her. Her drugs her and forces her into heat so he can impregnate her. And then to top it off his beloved comes and almost chokes her and then she is forced to listen as they make love. She is no void and hollow and barely makes it back to Corday. Can’t wait to read the next.
Wow…just wow! I warn you, you must keep an open mind to enjoy this book, and even then, you may get very frustrated with these main characters. There’s lots to love and hate about them. I can’t make up my mind which one to side with, so I try to remain impartial and just enjoy the ride. And it is a ride…up one minute, down the next, but always enjoyable. Very well written book and I can’t wait to read the second one and see what they get up to next. – this is my honest review
The book is very well written, but this is about a world that does not fit to me. I cannot tell if the people are human or animals that act like humans. It is like it is another planet and if so I would have like to know up front and also that this was a cliffhanger. I have still not figured out who Shepard got so mean and we did learn why he took Claire.
I absolutely loved this book! I loved everything about it. You have your complex and Heart of Gold heroin Claire trying to save her Omega sisters any way she can. And that means going to the man who has ruined her City and conquered everything within the Dome. Shepherd, the strongest and biggest Alpha of them all has risen from the underworld and conquered Tholos Dome. Everything and everyone is at his mercy. And he has none…except when he meets Claire. His mate. Shepherd takes whatever he wants whenever he wants and has never cared about the consequences, but at the cost of Claire’s heart he finally cares about something else besides revenge and war. Pushed past her limits she must endure. But her spirit unequivocally matches his fire. He gets a run for his money. I squalled, I laughed and I ABSOLUTELYLOVE THIS BOOK!
Well this one kept me up at night. I fell in love with this first installment, i literally cried myself to sleep!
I really don’t know what to say, I’m not for sure if this takes place on a different planet or what. Claire is an Omega, after the destruction of their society, is hiding with other Omegas to keep from being mated. Shepherd is the cause of the destruction and when he gets a whiff of Claire, takes her for his own. She escapes and is recaptured and then escapes again. This time she feels nothing, where once she was starting to feel something for the Alpha now she feels blank. Shepherd plans to get her back no matter what.
I read several reviews and couldn’t understand the five star reviews. The dialogue was all together and you couldn’t tell who was doing the thinking and talking. Some might consider what he did was rape, in a way I guess it was but she also wanted him too. Cliffhanger. Explicit sex.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for the author *
*CAUTION* Before you read Born to be Bound and the Omegaverse, be prepared to devote your next few weeks to anything and everything Addison Cain has written!
I have literally read a book a day from the Omegaverse because I just could not put these books down. HOLY SMOKES! Cain is incredible about putting you right in the middle of the action with her attention to detail and incredible story line.
I have fallen for Claire and her determined spirit and even have fallen for Shepard in his own way!
First let me just say that this books has some serious TRIGGERS and if things like rape, torture, and forced relations bother you then please PLEASE DO NOT READ this book because it is not for you. This book had me cringing at times and I was thinking I must have a effed up mind to read this book and give it five stars with everything that Shepherd the Alpha Male does to his Omega Claire that he forces her to marry him and do as he pleases.
Claire is trying to get food for her family and friends when she is captured. When Shepherd the Alpha finds out she is a rare Omega he forces himself on her and seals the bond between them. She knows she has no choice but to do as he says because he is ruthless and will kill her family and friends so she does as she is told even if she doesn’t want to do it.
READ WITH CAUTION! I can’t wait for the second book to see where things go.
This is hands down one of my favorite series!! If you love omegaverse books than this is a must read!
This book was well written. It had great character development. It keeps your attention peaked. Serious alphas. You won’t be disappointed.
Now this story was a complex way for deciding what to do or what not to do. In this story we watch this young Omega try to get help from the one person who she knew would more. Claire has to fight for her very survival but in the process finds herself longing for the Alpha but one wrong move on his part and it all goes sideways. Shephard fights for control and dominance over her and does something so stupid it causes her to feel nothing anymore. As we get near the end of the book we never see that coming. Now it’s a wait and see game for them. I’m looking forward to seeing how the next book plays out. I am hooked on this author and I really enjoy her writing style. I give it 5 stars.
I enjoyed this book. But the way it was written made me feel like I missed the beginning and jumped into a book that seemed as though it was picking up where it previously left off. That said I still plan to read the next book, as it has peaked my interest and curiosity. I can’t help it. I want to know what happens to Claire.
As I sit here trying to write this review, I’m still trying to slow my racing heart and find the words to tell you my reaction to this book.
At first, I felt like I had come into the middle of something and had no apparent clue as to what had brought on the chain of events I was reading. Once I persevered a little further, pieces started falling into place bit by bit but the plot began to spread out in different directions. As more clues are released I began to question who the good guys were and actually who were the villains and are there more than one? The interactions between Shepherd and Claire are both HOT and confusing. But I think Claire is in way over her head and she is a bit naïve where relationships are concerned maybe Shepherd is just as perplexed from his end. This book ended in a cliffhanger and by the time I reached it, I kept flipping pages back and forth hoping it hadn’t ended yet. You know I’ve got to find out what happens next.
Soooo good
