Surrender is not survival.
Claire is desperate. Her once thriving city lies in ruins. The strongest of the three human dynamics, Alphas, have grown feral. Common Betas circle like vultures. The lowest in the hierarchy, rare and weak Omegas like Claire, are being destroyed. Sheltering amidst a dwindling enclave of frightened Omega women, Claire cannot provide enough to feed them all; her friends … her friends are starving.
All due to one escaped convict’s violent rise to power.
Shepherd is every bit as ruthless as his reputation suggests, but Claire cannot continue watching her friends suffer. Her last recourse is to beg the most powerful Alpha in the city for aid.
Up close, the sheer size of Shepherd, the raw power of the man, terrifies her. But he may be her only hope.
Before she can render her plea, Claire’s disguise and careful plans fail. Despite taking every possible precaution, she is captured. The moment the Alpha senses her, Claire’s worst nightmare is realized: Shepherd, discovering a rare Omega in his midst, claims her like a prize, forcing a pair-bond that ties her to him forever.
Claire becomes his.
Shepherd keeps his wayward mate locked away where only he might enjoy her and refuses to help her fellow Omegas unless they, too, are irrevocably bound to favored soldiers of his choosing. Claire cannot allow such a thing. She fights her instincts and his will, because no matter how many times he’s knotted her, how manipulative the bond might be, she despises what he’s done.
She escapes.
And Shepherd vows he will hunt her down – ready to burn the city to ash if he has to. Because Claire is his. His mate.
The first book in Addison Cain’s exciting, raw, and suspense-filled Omegaverse trilogy is a dark tale with explicit sexual themes and complete power exchange. If such material offends you, please do not purchase.

An outstanding m/f Omegaverse read done by the Queen herself. This is book 1 of a 3 book series. You will be a bit devastated at the end of book 1 but you will be anxious to get to the next book to see where this story goes. This is a must own in every library!
Do you want your heart ripped out and stomped on? This is definitely the book for you. It’s hot and dirty and oh so twisted. So bad for you but so good. This is the darkest recess of romantic fiction, but the characters are so easy to follow and relate to. Take a chance and if you hate it you can leave and never come back. If you love it there is more where that came from.
Great book! Alpha male all the way and headstrong female who fingers back!
I read Born to Be Bound (BTBB) two years ago, and is my “go to” book when I’m looking for a fantastic writing that will give me all the feels.
This page-turning story is so twisted, I can’t help but feel mesmerized by the world and characters that make up this unique world. I’ve been able to at least digest all the crazy emotions I had from reading such an intense story, but when I read this book, it’s like I’m reading it for the first time all over again!
I won’t sugar coat this… prepare to be shocked.
There were expletives.
Then there were expletives.
And there were more expletives!
Then there was the hunt, “ whose read these books”? As well as, “what are readers saying about this book?
I hadn’t read anything by Addison Cain prior to BTBB and I was super scared to commit because up to that point, I had not read anything as intense, and dark, and wild like BTBB, so, I was taking a leap of faith with this book.
And well, the end result?
ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS EVER!
For starters, the world building is fantastic! It is subtle, not in your face; overly long descriptions for a world I know nothing about. The world is explained as the plot moves forward and pieces of what is happening in the Tholos Dome are revealed as the political turmoil heightens in the book.
But what is this story really about? It’s about Claire, a young Omega who is hoping to protect her fellow Omegas from being hunted by Alphas. And then there is Shepard, our anti-hero, who will stop at nothing to have Claire.
Since I knew little of the Omegaverse world, the language of BTBB was really unique to me. Now that I have a bettter understanding of the whole Alpha/Omega dynamics, the terms used make a lot of sense. But don’t get me wrong, back then and now, everything about the writing and dynamics between Alpha and Omega are HAWT! Like out of this world crazy, intense, dark and HAWT!
This is a really dark read, there were places in the story that were extremely uncomfortable, with the whole sub/non con situations pushed boundaries I hadn’t pushed before. But it was one of the best reading experiences of my life! I love how Addison Cain pushed those boundaries. There were times I hated Shepard and times where the moments between Shepard and Claire were so sweet I found him almost redeemable.
This is book one in a three part series. Don’t complain that you have to buy the next book to see what happens next because yes, there is a cliffhanger, so just enjoy the reading experience, this is what this book is all about. You will absolutely enjoy Claire, and you will find yourself hoping Shepard does a 180 even though secretly you’re loving every asshole decision he makes… well maybe not all of his decisions, but what can I say, I love this asshole!
THIS BOOK WAS EVERYTHING I DIDN’T EXPECT IN A READING EXPERIENCE! Because of this book I learned how to take chances with books I may have never read. If you like a dark, steamy, intense, erotic read, with sub/non con scenes, this is your next book!
Born to be Bound is another fabulous tale by Cain. It’s twisted dark and edgy. Full of steamy Alpha’s and heartbreaking omegas. If you haven’t dived into the Omegaverse, you are missing out.
Enjoyed dominant big male “Alphas”
This is an amazing story/series. Anything by Addison Cain is a must read, but this one really draws you in. You find yourself routing for the bad guys who maybe aren’t as bad as you thought and the good guys who maybe aren’t as good as you believed. Addison brings you down long, twisting, scary roads and you can’t put her stories down and she always leaves you wanting more. Read this story, you will not regret it!
The beginning of Claire and Shepherd’s story will leave you loving and despising their relationship, the pain Claire endures, and the willful and uncompromising dominance that Shepherd insists is natural and necessary.
If you love alphas, you’ll love and hate Shepard! He gets better with each book! Love this series!
This book grabs you and just does not let go. Thankfully I discovered this author after all three books were available so I did not have to wait on a conclusion (patience is not a virtue I possess). Do not let Mrs. Cain’s angelic looks fool you, she may be angelic, but it’s of the fallen variety . Love love love ALL her works. Do yourself a favor and read her books….ALL OF THEM.
Addison paints a picture of a whole new world. One with Alphas and Omegas and Betas. With drama and action that will keep you flipping to see what comes next. She also paints very vivid visuals and steamy encounters. This book is not for the weak it is dark themed and wonderfully deviously delish!
Claire is the heroine for her people, for all omegas. She attempts to fight the powers that be for a chance to save her people from dying but ends up becoming entrapted by a Monster or is he? This book has good twists and some of the hottest scenes*fire alarm*.
This book checked everything on my list. Great book!!
You won’t regret this one! Best Omegaverse Ever!
Loved this series can’t wait for more!!!
Claire is one of my favorite Omega characters. Not only is she trying to survive but she is trying protect other Omegas. This story is well written and doesn’t have the typical damsel in distress feel. I would definitely recommend the book because of Claire alone but dont give up on Shepherd you may just short of like him too lol.
Wasn’t sure what I was going to think when I started to read this book but boy in a word AMAZING!!!!. I love the whole idea of omega’s, beta’s and Alpha’s the whole concept of Heat cycle’s nesting and pair mates was so very unique.
A very quick explanation of Born to be Bound is Claire goes to try and secure help for her fellow omega’s after the undercroft (prison system for the domed city) has been overtaken toppling the city’s government.
The omegas are starving and being hunted.
Instead, Claire is taken hostage by the current Alpha Shepherd.
There’s drama, an escape and some very shocking actions on shepherds part that literally stunned me stupid.
The mate bond between these two is damaged to such an extent that I totally get Claire’s reaction to her current situation.
what on earth is going through that alphas head, I cannot get my head round shepherds mindset is he evil or just misunderstood time will only tell.
I don’t think any amount of purring from Shepherd is going to get him off the hook anytime soon.
But it will sure be fun to watch him try.
What an enthralling read this was so looking forward to the next exciting instalment.
All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Dark, violent, blazing hot and at times uncomfortably erotic. Everything about this story was completely new to me. I had never even heard of an Omegaverse before.
Shepard’s a hot, growly, morally-ambiguous Alpha who you love to hate, but even when he’s at his most infuriating, there are these little glimpses of who he could become. In this post-disaster world, people are both at their best and their worst. Everyone is fighting, scheming and scrabbling for food–just trying to stay alive. Most seem to be at their worst, but not Claire. I love the way Claire and Shepard change throughout the series.
Pay attention to the content warnings, but if you like this one, there are also several equally-good spin-offs set in the same world. You’re going to want to keep reading.
I have no idea what kind of a journey I signed on for in this series by Addison Cain, when I first started Born to be Bound I felt a bit disoriented, I couldn’t wrap my head around what was happening because there was little to no set up for the story, she was out of the blocks and sprinting. Ingenious !
I’ve yet to come across a completely likable character and the plot lines are a swirling mass of … of what, I’m not completely sure but I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of WTF moments in this series.
On to Born to be Broken.
This book takes place in dystopia. The ruling bodies in these domes have been overrun and taken by criminals, feral alphas desperate for omegas, and betas that are left trying to help. Claire is passionate and wants independence, however, she is taken and claimed by “The Shepard” He is the leader now and Claire’s captor. The story’s plot is intense and and characters are deliciously engaging
