Brilliant, I really enjoyed this book and went straight onto the second. Well written, good solid plot and characters that really caught the imagination.
This is not a romance, although there is a bit of romance as a sub-plot, it is however a really good paranormal fantasy.
Just a fun fun book to read.
Vampires, shape-shifters and such are not my usual fare, but after reading Breene’s Born in Fire, I think perhaps they should be. The author’s energetic and entertaining style grabs hold quickly and doesn’t let go. Through all 400+ pages, the pacing holds up. There are no “dead spots” in the narrative. The characters, dead or alive, all play their parts well. Building a backstory for such a narrative can be a chore, but Breen blends in the past seamlessly. Highly recommended.
So far loving this series by K.F. Breene!
Imaginative and exciting
A supernatural bounty hunter hiding her true nature. An elder, wealthy, vampire, whom she knows better than to trust. But sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. You’ll like the twists and sexual tension in this story.
Don’t usually care for this kind of fiction but this book was surprisingly interesting.
This is a fun read with lots of action. The characters are great and the humor non-stop. Lots of fun!
At first I thought the beginning was rocky, the world building was a bit rough, and the main character was overly sarcastic… but by the time I finished the book I WAS IN LOVE.
I got sucked into Reagan’s world as a bounty hunter and was glued to her story. The fantasy was so entertaining! I couldn’t put this down. And the vampires…. yummy yummy yummy. I wish the romance was a bit stronger here, but the slow burn just left me craving for MORE.
What an intriguing supernatural tale filled with humor, suspense and drama tangled in magic. All I have to say is look out Stephine Plum here comes Reagan.
Great book
Fast paced. Very fun.
Reagan is a bounty hunter, not the best paying job, but given her skill set, one she’s suited for, given her next of kin is her father, Lucifer. But bounty hunting isn’t making her rich, or even feeding her, so when she’s summed to the local vampire liar with a job offer worth fifty grand, she reluctantly takes it. Reagan has a scarcastic humor that really appeals to me and sharp wits. Great first book in a 3 book series.
Great read! I love the different take on Vampires and Mages. This book kept my attention from the first page and I didn’t put it down until I finished. Highly recommend!
A great page turner!
1st in series and 1st book I have read by this author and I enjoyed. I love paranormal stories
witches, weres , vamps , shapeshifters and fae .
This is Book 1 in a new series, Fire and Ice, by KF Breene – I’ve read all The Darkness series, and loved them, so expected a lot from this, and it didn’t disappoint!!
Reagan is a Bounty Hunter with a difference. She’s a bad ass, with a particular skill set that makes her perfect for the job, has sass, doesn’t take any crap, is good and knows it, but hates the paperwork side of things and so won’t conform and ends up with the real bad asses nobody else can deal with – and she’s broke and needs the money enough to take them on!!
Vampires swoop in and snatch her ‘mark’ right from out under her nose – she’s none too pleased to say the least, and now won’t get paid. So when an offer from the Vampires is sent for her to come work with them on a special case, her interest is picqued, but then they are offering a lot of money!!
Darius is the Vampire she will be working with – an Elder in their world, meaning he has lots of knowledge, is very old, and very deadly but also one of the sexiest things she has come across!! Life is just about to get a little interesting!!!!
A brilliant read!! Loved the characters and the world it is set in, with the magic coming from mages, witches, vampires, shape shifters and goodness knows what else!!! Reagan is such a strong character, such a bad ass with such sass – she often had me laughing out loud at her antics!! Some great plot twists that you don’t see coming, and the story is so good the pages just keep on turning!!! Can’t wait for book 2 to see what Reagan will get up to next!! A highly recommended read for any PNR fan!!
One of my favorite that has not disappointed yet.
Loved this book! So much humor/snark and it balanced out the action and plot really well. The secondary characters were great and I can’t wait to read their love stories! The world building was spot on and fit with the characters. The hero was a great foil to the heroine, and she was wonderfully bad-ass. Awesome book.
I give this book four stars for story and action and three stars for over all writing. There were a lot of blanks that needed to be filled to make it an enjoyable read for me. The narrative tags were nonexistent in some places so it was really hard to tell who was talking especially when dialogue was embedded in paragraphs. The main female character was portrayed as brash and snarky, but her use of slang and weird references made it hard to decipher what point the writer was trying to make sometimes. Also, I did not find that this author provided enough background and information about the world she was creating, i.e. the super natural beings inhabiting this world, their powers, power hierarchy, and how they interact. Instead of building suspense because the reader anticipates what could happen, there is just surprise at what actually happens. It would be more interesting to be taken along as the story develops.
One of my favorite reads ! Witty, fresh, Fat in thre, page turner !
