Awesome, so much fun!
Born in Fire is the first book in this excitingly romantic series by K.F. Breene! Be ready to see vampires as you haven’t seen them before! Loved the whole trilogy. You’ll laugh and you’ll swoon!
A bounty hunter with no identity and a very old vampire work together, sort of, to take down a rogue mage bent on power. Secrets the vampires don’t want out are at stake and so is the identity of Reagan’s unique power.
I couldn’t put this book down! Once I was done with each one, I wanted to keep going. While there is romance, it’s not insta-love, it’s a slow burn, just the way I like it! Totally recommend this series. 🙂
I’m almost done with part 3 of this trilogy and I’ll be sad when it’s over. Very well written….fun exciting and relatable.
This one caught my eye while I was in the middle of another book and wouldn’t turn me loose! Read it (400+ pages) in basically a day. It’s the first in a trilogy, and if you like Kate Daniels or Mercy Thompson, I think this is one for you! Reagan is a tough supernatural bounty hunter heroine. The world building is impressive, and there is some laugh-out-loud humor here as well. Great cast of characters! Look forward to #2!
I love K.F.Breene! Her books are always entertaining, action-packed, humorous at the appropriate times, and has wonderful slow-burn romance. This is the third of her series I’ve binged through – I’m actually listening to it again – and I’m thrilled with it. There are a couple items not closed from the end of the trilogy. I know there’s another short series that is in this same world and haven’t looked ahead to see if maybe some of the gaps will be filled, but I still enjoyed the read. The secondary characters of Callie and Dizzie (not sure on spelling because this was an audio read) are a hoot and their squabbles and one-liners are highly anticipated. And then there’s Darius – and who doesn’t love a romantic possessive vamp!
A tough-as-nails heroine with a sharp tongue, a demanding job, and a big secret. I loved how the magical world was portrayed in this book and the supporting cast is fleshed out well.
This series is fantastic. I spread through all of them. The characters are unique and realistic and the dialogue is literally laugh out loud hilarious. The story is amazing and not something I expected. Definitely check this series/author out!
I would recommend this series to everyone who misses Sookie Stackhouse. Well-written and entertaining.
This is Book 1 of a 3 book series and what an awrsome start! The characters are amazingly magical, yet relatable. This book is filled with the type of whimsy that makes you check your closets and look under your bed at night. Thw storyline is a mix of fantady and a sort of true grit. With New Orleans as the backdrop, anything is possible and probable. The way that Breene normalizes interactions between the human characters and other wolrldy, makes this an easy read. The way she develops each character within the story made me want to keep reading. I became vested in the characters. They made me laugh out loud at times and I felt concerned at times when I just knew the boogeyman was coming after them, especially ouraon character. Whats not to love about a butt kicking human-demon hard drinking rough living heroine. Bounty hunter by trade, which makes her tough enough, yet totally vulnerable and in need of mommy hug. There is more there than meets the eye, as we find out rather quickky.
Be forewarned that if you read Book 1, you will then have to read the other two. Like me, you will just have to find out what happened after………
It was a wonderful read. Kept me entertained, enjoyable to read.
Great
Loved it.
I have read all of K. F. Breene books and they are great reading for anyone interested in paranormal. The characters are strong, witty and I could not put this series down until I finished it! In fact, I have re-read several times!
K.F. Breene is easily one of my favorite authors. I haven’t read anything from her that I disliked, honestly. This set is an excellent example. The MC is snarky, sassy, and witty. Vampires, werewolves (and other shifters…) The series is complete now, and there is a lot going on through the 11 books. Highly addictive, highly entertaining. She’s even got a really good audiobook if that’s your jam.
This was such a great paranormal read. I enjoyed Reagan, Darius, Callie and Dizzy characters a lot. I loved it even more because Reagan was such a strong female character, she was funny and she didn’t let Darius sexual appeal cloud her judgement. Her and Darius definitely made a pair and I wasn’t ready for their work contract to end. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series because I know their has to be more of Reagan and Darius, this cannot be the end of them. Their back and forth banter was everything and I enjoyed Regan’s humor even though Darius barely laughed at her. This story has it all: bounty hunters, vampires, witches, shifters, unicorns, mages, demons and fae’s. There’s action from the very beginning to the very end but there’s also mystery, suspense and a whole lot more. I can’t wait to read what happens next.
OK… I’m a pnr fan always.
This author just writes pnr like no other.
This story had me hooked from the start!.
I loved the dynamics of these characters and the hate to love tension filled chemistry between them. The sassy heroine who takes no bull and the alpha hero with that air of arrogance that you can’t help but love. It was interesting and exciting and oh so new, weird and wonderful.
The world building is fantastic and the character development fit the pace of the story perfectly. This is book one so its the foundation on which their journey is built but the potential for greatness is here and I have a good feeling this series will live upto every expectation and then some.
Now onto book two!.
Finished the nine books available in five days, OMGoodness, love, love, love this series. Adding the audio to the kindle books gave me lots of options to read while I carried on with my life 🙂 Last book of the series coming at the end of the month.
This one kept me pretty involved and entertained from start to finish. I love Reagan and her sardonic outlook. She’s truly badass and is the kind of heroine that I can stand to spend hundreds of pages with. No frills. Just ass-whooping every step of the way.
