“Pure perfection. The writing flowed seamlessly, the story heartbreakingly beautiful, and the characters… God, these characters are forever embedded in my soul.” ~ Erin Noelle, USA Today Bestselling AuthorThe night I’m released from prison, she’s in my bed. It’s been eight years since I touched a woman, and the Native American beauty is half-dressed, beaten, bruised, and devastatingly … bruised, and devastatingly exquisite.
We’re toxic together, but we want the same things. Blood. Vengeance.
Violent relief in a warm body.
Beneath her touch, I’m alive.
Against her skin, I’m redeemed.
Buried inside her, I forget the past.
Until the past takes her from me.
Prison made me cold, but losing Raina makes me cruel. Ruthless. Unforgiving.
I killed before. For her, I’ll kill again.
I’ll end this once and for all or die in my boots.
TRAILS OF SIN series (HEAs with no cliffhangers – must be read in order):
Knotted #1 – Jake and Conor
Buckled #2 – Jarret and Maybe
Booted #3 – Lorne and Raina
more
I love this series! I loved Lorne and Raina! Lorne has spent the last 8 years in jail and is having trouble connecting with his family but is able to connect with Raina. Raina has been abused by and plotting revenge against Jett and Jared’s father. Raina understands what Lorne is going through due to her past. They both have been through a lot but find that they fit each other perfectly. This book was hot and wonderfully written! I definitely recommend it!
Amazing!
This is the much anticipated conclusion in the Trails of Sin Series, and what a conclusion it is!!
Each book is about a different couple but they have to be read in order.
This is Lorne and Raina’s story. The grand finale!
The best of the series and each book has been pretty impressive!
Booted gives us the darkest, grittiest, and most emotional installment!
Revelations are made and lose ends are tied up.
Expect a sleepless night this as book was unputdownable!
Intriguing and compelling story the writing was just amazing!
This author made a cowboy lover out of this jaded New Yorker!
We’ve all been waiting for Lorne’s book since Knotted. Wow, I’m so glad the finale ended the way it did. I can’t ask for anything different. I can’t believe what Raina had to go through and the reason behind it. Lorne and Raina are a complex couple that eventually complement each other. Don’t worry, all of our questions get answers. There were a few things I didn’t see coming. I’m so sad to be saying goodbye to the characters of Julep Ranch. Overall, this Trails of Sin trilogy was really good if you’re looking for a different kind of cowboy read.
I just knew that Raina and Lorne’s story was going to be my favorite. The Trails of Sin series is on my top 5 favorites for the year and will definitely be a favorite re-read for me.
If you have NOT read books one or two you will need to go back and do that before reading Booted. This is a continuation series and best enjoyed from the very beginning.
Lorne and Raina are two very damaged souls, yet it seems nobody understands them the way one another does. Lorne is angry and Raina scarred, but together they discover a calm within their personal storms, despite their attempts at keeping one another at a distance.
Riddled with angst, explosive chemistry and intense danger, Booted will keep readers on the edge of their seats, bingeing every word from beginning to end!
I love this family and really wish that this didn’t need to come to an end. I’ll be suffering from a hangover for the foreseeable future. Pam Godwin has secured her place on my one-click list!
Looking forward to what is next!
I am, once again, blown away by the talent of this author. Her words are powerful and poetic, pulling me in, making my reading time a full-on enjoyable, emotional, and arousing experience.
This is the third book in the Trails of Sin series. (Books 1 & 2 need to be read first!) I’d like to say this was my favorite of the three, but I think I say that with every book of Pam’s I read. Just when I think one book is the best, she goes and kicks my ass with another one.
This book gives explanations, and answers, and most importantly, closure. Finishing this was bittersweet. I was SO happy to get it so I could devour it & get the satisfaction I needed. But, now the series is over. I’m going to miss these smokin’ hot, kinky cowboys with hearts of gold, along with their fierce & sassy women. I felt like I was a part of this family.
The highly anticipated return of Lorne was everything I hoped for. It was everything I needed.
Lorne…so moody, so damaged, so intense. Dark and glaringly mysterious. After being put away for 8 years, I just knew he was going to be amazing.
Raina is such a strong & take-no-shit kind of woman. Doing what she had to do to survive, to keep her loved ones safe. After book 2, I could not wait to get inside this woman’s head. She couldn’t have been more perfect for Lorne.
The sexual tension and chemistry between Raina & Lorne was off the charts, tingle-all-over-your-body hot. Their constant bickering was entertaining – I loved these two together.
This book packs a punch.
It squeezed my heart,
it slapped me silly with passion,
it hit me below the belt…if you know what I mean.
And the playlist? Perfect.
I can’t recommend this book enough. If you’ve read the first two, then you’ll need this one. If you haven’t started this series, I highly recommend it, even if cowboys aren’t your thing. Seriously.
Y’all ready for the BAD BOY brother???
Y’all ready for the ANGST!!!!
Y’all ready for one HAWT read??
How bout lots of ACTION??
Well saddle up cuz Booted is bout to take you on one Heck of a ride!!!
This is Lorne and Raina’s book.
Raina took something from him. She was battered and she was his kryptonite.
Lorne had been in prison and was now released after eight years. He had a HUGE chip on his shoulder. Prison made him ohhh sooo cold!!!
When Lorne was released from prison…he decided he was going to be Raina’s protector although he hated her….but in all actuality, he secretly wanted her!!!!
So here is where you are going on that roller coaster ride of Angst, Hawtness and lots of Action. These two were like oil and water, they fought hard but loved harder!!! They have old scores to settle.
Yessss..I gave Booted 5 angsty…Angsty…ANGSTY Stars!!! Gahhh I fell in love with this battered man and his Dang Cowboy Hat!!! Hope y’all have been keeping up, make sure you go one today cuzzz dannnnggggg these Cowboys have been sooo freaking Hawt to read about!!! Pam Godwin, Thank you for another delicious read!!!!
***TRAILS OF SIN series (HEAs with no cliffhangers – must be read in order):
Knotted #1 – Jake and Conor
Buckled #2 – Jarret and Maybe
Booted #3 – Lorne and Raina
The conclusion of this deeply moving, insanely sexy, intriguing trilogy is finally here and holy hell was it worth the wait!
“If you were my girl, I’d make you feel like my world. Only then would I deserve to make you feel like my slut.”
Having a very complicated past, recovering from John Holsten is not all that Raina struggles with. Similarly, serving 8 years in jail means quite a bit of baggage for Lorne to overcome. Both characters are seriously flawed, yet together they create something truly remarkable!
“We’re not good together.”
“We haven’t killed each other.”
“We fight constantly.”
“We communicate at full volume.”
He strokes a knuckle along my jaw. I shiver. “We push each other’s buttons.”
“We challenge each other.”
He cups my throat, holding, not squeezing. “I’m a prostitute.” Pam Godwin
Lorne and Raina are the most intense, hottest characters yet; their sexual tension practically leaps off the pages!! And because Jake, Conor, Jarret and Maybe co-star in this book, everything comes full circle! BOOTED is a spectacular book! It is the perfect example of how incredibly talented Pam Godwin is!

5 “I Hear You” Stars!
Lorne Cassidy spent the last eight years behind bars after a tragedy changed his life. He returns home, and it’s difficult to remember the person he used to be. He’s always been the leader in the Holsten/Cassidy tribe, and now he feels like the elusive fourth. He doesn’t know how to relate to his family anymore, but they still mean everything to him, and he will do whatever it takes to protect them. He just wants to feel normal again. On his first night home at Julep Ranch he returns to find a devastatingly beautiful, Native American woman in his bed. She’s beaten, bruised, and has no one. She’s so stunning he feels like he can’t breathe when he looks at her. He hasn’t been with a woman in years, and she’s a temptation and complication he doesn’t need.
Raina Benally is a 24 yr. old woman who’s lived a hard life. The only things she has left are determination and her thirst for revenge. She’s taking advantage of her unexpected freedom, and is on a mission for vengeance. On her path she encounters a gorgeous, moody, cowboy named Lorne who seems to harbor darkness and is always scowling. He’s lethal, detached, hostile, and chillingly devoid of sympathy. He has a definite edge to him, and is full of attitude. His demeanor is unnerving and downright scary, but his dominating presence hijacks her pulse every time he even looks at her.
Raina is the sexiest woman Lorne’s ever seen step foot in Sandbank. She’s a raven-haired goddess that is both seductive and breathtaking. Over time he feels the most like himself when she’s around. Their untamed chemistry is off the charts, and soon he’s completely infatuated with her. She’s under his skin, and he’s never experienced anything as exquisitely intense as what he feels for her. She’s made him vulnerable and he wants more with her.
Raina has always been emotionally unavailable with men. She’s become numb over the years, and Lorne is making her feel everything. He isn’t like any man she’s ever been with. She craves him in ways she’s never craved a man before, and it terrifies her. She’s started to rely on him, and he’s claimed her heart. They have more in common than they realized. They both have demons they’ve buried, and know about survival. When danger comes knocking on their door will they be able to eliminate their enemies to stay alive and have a future together?
Lorne’s book is the one I’ve been waiting for, and it didn’t disappoint. I loved seeing this damaged, beautiful man’s tender side. He has s special heart, and he loves with everything in him. This was the third book in the Trails of Sin series. Each book is about a different couple, and should be read in order. This series is wonderful! It’s dark, sexy, and full of vengeance and deep, incredible one of a kind love.
I was so eager to finally read the last book of Trails of Sin .. Lorne story was really intriguing as I always felt like he was a very strong character since the very first time we met him on Buckled.. he really blew me away, Lorne was everything I expected and even more.. he was a very powerful hero, strong, cold, alpha with a lot of controlling tendencies, he was rough in every aspect of his life, his time away made him this way but deep down, there’s still that man with a tender heart and soul..
“He commands with a rigid posture and unwavering eye contact. His terrifying calmness demands”
What an epic conclusion of the trails of sin series. Booted was amazing not only we saw many of the great characters we love, Jake, Jarret, Conor and Maybe but we also get to meet new/old characters that will tell us their story. We first saw Raina and Lorne at the beginning of this series.. but life and circumstances took them away from their families and everything they loved.. now Lorne is back to get back his life and even his own self.
Raina hasn’t had an easy life, she had to work hard to take care of her sister, even if that meant to work in certain jobs that will rob her from love and the tender touch of a man.. she didn’t want to know anything about love, she didn’t want to know anything about men. the last man broke her on so many levels.. her soul was broken and her heart was hiding behind walls to protect herself from any harm.. or even from her own self.
“No one will ever know you or truly understand until they run their fingers through our soul. But you need to let them. Someday, you’ll let someone in”
life and circumstances bring Raina and Lorne together to live on the same ranch and fight back for the soul they have lost during all these chaos. they are so similar in many ways.. sometimes it feels like they had lived the same..
Lorne has suffered a lot over the years, trying to survive the cold walls of jail, now out and free he is back ready to build a new life, even if that means taking time to bring down the walls his soul built after such a long confinment.. but Lorne didn’t expect, he was about to find something or someone who will change his life forever, someone who will not only fix him and save him but also give him a brand new light to his life..
“There are a lot of things I never experienced until Lorne, like dancing under the stars, holding hands in the grocery store, romance and feelings, tender and slow, whispering, cuddling, and other giddy nonsense”
Raina has no hope, she has lost everything, even herself.. she doesn’t want to become an acquaintance to anybody, she just wants to survive and escape her biggest regret in life, John .. a ruthless man with so much ambition that will not care who is in his path to get whatever he wants.. but she didn’t count that life was about to bring her face to face with the only one who can help her change her life forever, maybe he is the one who will show her what being loved and taking care of means..
“I want to hear what she’s thinking, feeling. Because I love talking to her. She’s more like me than anyone I know”
Booted answer all the question we been having for a while, not only we get to finally see what happens with John and other characters who were behind his evil plan.. but we also find out what happens with the rest of the main characters, Conor, Jarret, Maybe and Jake.. this book was epic so many great moments and also twist that you won’t see them coming..
“I love her magnificence, her fortitude, and her spirituality. Her presence weaves through the bloodlust in my veins, pacifying me and keeping me focused”
The love between Lorne and Raina was beautiful, not only we felt how everything started, so slow and somehow taking their time. she was always fighting him, not really knowing what to do with his and her feelings, she didn’t know all these feelings,
she never experienced all this, but he is the key to her heart, he is the only one who is going to be able to show her and teach her with love and patience..
“I want the agony in my heart at the thought, I want the fiery frustration she ignites in my stomach. I want the strangle around my lungs whenever she’s near. I want the agony in my heart at the thought of losing her. It keeps me sharp, vigilant, aware.”
I’m going to miss all these characters, Pam did a great job building the cowboy world, not only we saw and felt all the traditions and beautiful life the country world has, The Native American culture all that was great to make this book amazing..
I really recommend this series, not only the three alpha heroes will make you swoon and giddy but Pam’s writing will keep you captivated and hook until the end..
Amazing series .. I can’t wait to read more of Pam’s work..
I had a feeling from the very beginning of this series that Lorne’s story was going to be the grittiest. I was right, and I couldn’t be happier about how this family has survived and persevered.
Lorne has paid dearly for his actions on that fateful night, and now it’s his time to live again…easier said than done. Hardened and emotionally closed off by nearly a decade in prison, being released and thoughts of coming home to his family were all that kept him going while he was on the “inside”. Unfortunately, coming home isn’t working out exactly as he imagined.
And then there’s Raina. The beauty that’s lived entirely in survival mode, doing the unimaginable, because it was the only way. They see each other, they hear each other, two brave and damaged souls crashing into one another. Can they move forward and mend each other’s? Probably not without a fight.
“We embrace without arms, kiss without lips, and fall with the ground firmly beneath our feet.”
“She pleasures me with passion, I love her with fire. Together, we reduce the night to ashes.” -Lorne
The conclusion to the Trail of Sins series is the perfect blend of complex characters, suspenseful plot lines and all the emotional highs and lows we expect when we read romance …makes me want to venture out and find my own dark and kinky cowboy to dance with under the stars.
I confess some parts of this series are very difficult to read but if I were you, I wouldn’t pass it up.
After that beautiful epilogue, i’m really sad to say goodbye to these characters!
I really, really enjoyed Lorne and Raina’s story. I already was in love with this family of cowboys, but seeing Lorne get out of prison and fall in love was really great. Raina was such a strong and resilient heroine (no surprise, Pam writes the best heroines) and Lorne was my favourite type of broody, possessive hero who worships his girl.
I was really happy with the storyline wrapped up in this book and I’m sad to say goodbye to these characters! The only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars was because I wasn’t completely consumed by the story.
Thank you Pam Godwin for providing a review copy!
Lorne and Raina begin as enemies. She is an unwanted house guest to him. He doesn’t trust her because of where she came from. But he can’t overlook her pain and agony.
She had one saving grace to hold her through her torment and torture but even that did not hold.
The secrets of Julep Ranch are many and dangerous to all involved but now it’s time to lay the to rest. There is only one way to do that. Protect the ones you love against all enemies.
In teaching Raina to protect herself he finds his mistrust waning and his hard heart softening. She is a tough cookie but even the toughest can crumble.
You will find anger, vengeance and vindication in this final book of the Trail of Sins. No one comes out unscathed but they hold together and love hard. A marvelous ending to a fabulous and heart wrenching series!
“When I’m with her, I feel alive. Needed. Motivated. A little less angry, and a whole lot hungry.”
Sinful. Spell-Binding. Steamy. LORNE IS MY FAVORITE AND YOU CAN’T CHANGE MY MIND.
Yessss Pam! I have been WAITING on Lorne’s story. I knew… I just KNEW he was going to be a brick wall. Impenetrable, unbreakable, and hard. He taught himself to not feel, to be void, to be withdrawn. Coming back to the real world, it’s hard for him to adjust back to the everyday life.
Raina is my favorite. Hands down. She is so fiery and sassy. She’s been through so much in her life, but she doesn’t let that define who she is. She built herself from it and made herself strong enough to withstand anything that is thrown at her.
This story was so perfect. It was the perfect bow on this dark and sinful series. The build up on this one had me holding my breath at times. The character growth was perfect and their chemistry was explosive!
This series was a first Pam Godwin read for me, but I assure you it won’t be the last. Her writing is so magical. I connected with every single character in the series. I’m in love with this world and I never want to leave!!
“He’s my battle song in the war of love.”
Breathtaking & Compelling!
Lorne Cassidy completely consumed me!
I’m not sure that anything else existed today except Lorne & Raina! Seeing these two unfold their tragic stories alongside each other, with all the pain they both experienced and then to see their souls begin to twine together as they both healed was exquisite.
Can I also just say that I love all the females in this series but Raina stole my heart! I’m not sure that Pam could have written another female into existence that would have been a better fit for Lorne than Raina. She had this bold and feisty personality that could take anything that Lorne threw her way. Combine that with her strength and determination to end things, once and for all. The man who tortured and broke her, also hurt so many others and the one thing Lorne & Raina can do is bond in their pursuit to end the pain and terror that exists as long as he’s walking free. Neither are prepared for the emotions that arise between them.
Lorne has been locked up for so long he’s forgotten what it feels like to touch or be touched by a woman. No matter how broken and twisted Lorne feels inside, Raina can soothe the parts of his soul that keep him human. Having to reenter into a world outside of prison, he has such a hard time finding where he fits. One of my favorite parts was seeing how Lorne took who he was before prison and who he was when he was released from prison and created the person he needed to be for himself. Then realizing that it was okay to be ANYONE he wanted to be as long as he was present. For people with PTSD, this is a huge issue when life returns to “normal” and they can’t because what was once their normal isn’t anymore and the people they return home to just can’t seem to handle that. So, Pam tackling this issue and then the way that the other characters in the book handled it over the course of the book…AMAZING!
I had my moments I wanted to yank Lorne by his earlobe for his actions or words but then I remind myself of all that he’s gone through. If you’ve read Knotted, Conor & Jake’s story: then you know what he’s endured in his young life but then to be incarcerated on top of that.
The ending was EVERYTHING I was craving and could feel this series leading up to. Absolute PERFECTION!
TRAILS OF SIN series – all books have HEAs and there are no cliffhangers!
*MUST be read in order*
Knotted #1 – Jake
Buckled #2 – Jarret
Booted #3 – Lorne
I am beyond sad that this trilogy is over! I want to cry! I loved these books so much! Especially Lorne and Raina’s story! Lorne was mostly absent in the first 2 books. He had parts but they weren’t huge but he sure came out hard in this book. He wasn’t himself after so long in prison and you couldn’t expect him to be. He definitely struggled. Raina was rescued and she had to fight her own demons that John put deep into her soul. She was so strong. They were a perfect fit. That ending was everything I hoped for. I’ll definitely read these books again in the future. I can’t say enough about Pam Godwin’s writing. She kills it every time.
This series was absolutely perfect all the way through. Lorne’s story is the perfect ending to this series. It was just as HAWT as the first two books. It answered all the questions, I felt there was nothing left unanswered. These books were so awesome I had to read them all at once.
Booted is the third book in the series, amazing, wonderful story. “I hear you” is a catch phrase through out the story. Four people drawn together as a family, bonded by love, strengthened by the fires of hell. This is a wonderful story about the 3rd, Lorne, a strong man haunted by his past and the American Indian woman who helps him learn to live and love. God, it’s a truly spellbinding tale and one you don’t want to miss, but start at the beginning of the series, you don’t want to miss any of the lusciousness!
Man did I love this dark Cowboy series! I seriously hated to the Trails of Sin Trilogy end! Each of these three books were so good that it hard to pick which was my favorite Cowboy, but if I had to pick, I would say that Lorne came out ahead because he has had to live the last several years of his life in prison for protecting the ones he cares most for.
Lorne and Raina are two perfectly matched broken people who come together to heal each other. Their story is full of all the angst and dark twists that Pam Godwin is so brilliant at writing. I highly recommend reading this 5 star series for yourself. You will not be disappointed.
Note – This trilogy should be read in order, even though each book is its own standalone.
Lorne and Raine truly broken people that somehow soothed each other. The standoff with the sheriff and his wife and Jake and Jarrett’s Dad…such a wickedly awesome ending…loved how that went down!! Epilogue was a nice touch also. Great edge of you seat series!!!
What a fantastic book to end this series!!! I loved Lorne so much!! He was sexy, hard, sweet, cold, and yummy. Raina had been through so much but she is one of the strongest characters I’ve ever read about!! I loved the ending. FINALLY everyone got their HEA.
