Diana Palmer delivers a classic tale of cowboy love with Long, Tall Texans: Boone (originally published Heart of Stone in 2008)Rancher Boone Sinclair is the ultimate Long, Tall Texan—reticent, noble and blessed with a Texas-size stubbornness. He’s always been beguiled by the lovely Keely Welsh, but he’s kept his distance to protect her innocence. Yet Keely’s no longer a girl who needs his … Keely’s no longer a girl who needs his protection. In fact, she’s a woman out to win his heart…

Have the original book Heart of Stone/ fun loving book, alot of twists and turns Love the book.
It’s a Diana Palmer book and it’s great! It’s a “re-tread” of Heart of Stone back in 2008 and it’s still one of the best I’ve read lately. Wealthy ranchers; young Keely who works hard at minimum wage and best friends with the Sinclairs; caregiver of abusive alcoholic mother; and, an old dog named Bailey. What is not to like? Boone is a wounded war vet who was loved by Keely since she was thirteen and her own wounds run not only on her body but in her soul. This is the story of healing and as I read this story-line, I actually found healing in my own heart. I highly recommend this book and I’ve never read a book by this author that I didn’t enjoy. Thanks to her great writing, it was a wonderful and comforting read.
A hero named Boone should be nicer, but it’s Diana Palmer.
Hero is mean.
Hero says mean things.
Heroine takes it on the chin repeatedly because she’s in love, stupid girl, and she’s been groomed by some pretty bad parents.
Her mother is an alcoholic floozy that LOVES to humiliate her daughter. Humiliation includes trying to seduce then lying to her daughter’s crush that she sleeps around.
Her father is not just negligent but lets her get clawed by a mountain lion then guilts her into giving him money for the guy that slapped her around and (view spoiler)
Do I need to say that the h accepts his apology like that. At least the heroine in The Wedding in White left town in disgust.
Love Diana Palmer books!!! Have read over 60 books written by her.
Always love her books.
A nice look at small town living, but the main character seemed like a whipping child. From a neglectful father, verbally abusive mother, to the man she falls for. If I took anything from this book was that friendship is key to success
At first I didn’t like Boone. He seemed cruel, but as the story progresses, the reader finds out his reasons for his actions. The girl who loves him has led a hard life and now faces violence from her father and his violent friend. Boone helps her deal with her problems.
Good book by a great author.
Great read
You can’t go wrong with a Diana Palmer book.
Great book. Read it one day.
loved it
Diana Palmer never disappoints!
I’ve been reading books by Diana Palmer for years now and have never been disappointed in any of them. I highly recommend this book
I have lost count of the number of times I have read this book. It is one I go back to again and again. I love the characters, the story and the series. It is definitely one of my all time favorites.
I did not care for this story as much as other books by this author. Boone was a bully to everybody, his sister and brother and Keely. Keely had a hard life but too much victim playing and never stand up for herself. She let Boone push her around and he was nasty to her. Neely’s mother treated her badly, was a drunk and her father was gone but he was a bad guy too. Boone did a 360 toward end of story and all of a sudden he and Keely are a couple.
I love reading Diana Palmers book. She is one of my favorite author and look forward to reading more of her books.
Excellent book great character development
