Boomerangers [boo-muh-rang-ers] noun, informal: an adult that moves back home to live with a parent after a period of independence.SpencerI love sex. I love the power, the intimacy, the euphoria it brings. Too bad I’m not having any . . . You’d think as New Orleans’ most renowned sex therapist that I’d be swimming in single men. In a way, I am . . . except for the fact that one is in diapers and … is in diapers and the other two are drowning in preteen hormones. As a single mother of three, my days are devoted to my clients and my kids, and my nights are spent with Fabio, my trusty vibrator. When my world begins to unravel, I have no choice but to move back home. And when my high school sweetheart comes waltzing back into my life, comedy and chaos ensue.
What can I say? I never said I could pick ’em, but you can bet your ass I know how to fix ’em.
Cooper
As soon as the ink dried on my divorce papers, I made myself a solemn vow: I was done with relationships. Moving home to take over my father’s firm was the plan, until Spencer decided to return, along with three souvenirs from the life she’s lived without me.
I’ve been in love with the girl next door for nearly all of my life; the rest was spent trying to forget her. I’d give almost anything for a second chance with her, but I have no time for distractions—especially the kind that involve diapers, bottles, and eighteen-year commitments.
The problem is, she’s already got me by the balls . . . and I’m beginning to feel the noose tightening around my heart.
Intended for readers 18+

Awesome book, so funny! Kyle rocks! Hope to see these characters in the next book!
Oh. My. Goodness. I have never laughed so hard or so many times as I did through this rom-com. That alone makes it worth every single one of those 5-stars I just gave it! This one has it all. Well, except for the dead body, but I’m pretty sure there were a few times Coop and Spence wanted to create one of those…
This is not your typical second chance romance. Nope. This one has all the feels. There’s a little angst, a lotta hilarity, and one toddler with a potty mouth and too much cuteness. Seriously, Savage steals this one right out from under Cooper and Spencer. While they are the main characters, Kyle is the scene-stealer. And those mommas? Don’t even get me started.
If you’re looking for a completely entertaining escape into hilarity pick up Boomerangers!
I checked this book out using Prime Reading. I thought it sounded like a fun read, and I was right, but I wasn’t expecting the highly emotional parts. Spencer is a mother, and the things she’s going through with her kids cut right to my heart, since I’m a mother as well.
As for the romance, be still my heart! I LOVE a good second chance romance and that’s what this book is all about. I’m an even bigger fan of high school sweethearts who make it, so if these types of tropes are your thing, you’re going to enjoy this book for sure.
A hilarious, funny, sweet second chance romance.
Cooper was imperfectly perfect. Heather made him work for it and he was ready to do anything to get hear heart back.
I loved the interactions between the kids, especially Kyle was everything. The diaper scene was the funniest thing I have ever read.
Boomerangers is a light, entertaining, funny read that’s low on drama but makes you feel really good.
I read one other book by this author, Pour Judgement, and I really liked that book. It was so funny and cute. So I picked up this book expecting it to be just as fun. Um… no. It’s hard to believe that a grown woman actually wrote this book it’s so juvenile and crass, and the characters are immature and inconsistent. I really can’t recommend it.
Such a sweet, hilarious and hot read
Laugh Out Loud Hilarious
This book had me in stitches laughing. Oh my gosh. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The perfect second chance romance that has you swooning the whole way through. Cooper and Spencer know how to push each other’s right and wrong buttons. They just flow so well together. Definitely a great romcom!
A funny second chance story with a single mom of 3 boys and a divorced old high school love.
Both moved back with their parents while getting through tough times of their lives which the timing could not be more perfect.
So many time many times I laughed out loud at the embarrassing positions they get caught in.
Tension between them with their love and fears taking front seat.
I loved this story so much, definitely makes you hope it works out and meanwhile you fall in love with all the characters.
I laughed out loud…a lot!!! I cried because of the emotional overload. Gah…I LOVED SPENCE AND COOP!!! Incredible characters and a second chance love story you won’t ever forget.
They fell in love in high school. She thought it was forever, until he cut her loose and broke her heart. Their living apart was never supposed to be forever.
Life happened and three kids later, Spence is back in her home town. An amazing single mom looking to start over after losing her job as a sex therapist. Small town life doesn’t change much, but she wasn’t ready for Cooper.
Back home to take over the law firm once his father retires, Cooper doesn’t expect Spencer. She aas the ine he let get away. Even a short marriage. Followed by a divorce couldn’t remove her from his heart.
Spence isn’t looking for any strings. She has no problem taking Coop for a ride just like old times, but that’s it. She’s a mom first. Every man in her life has let her and her kids down, she’s not willing to take that kind of risk.
Cooper is willing to take ehst he can get. However, as he sprnds more time with her and the kids, what he’s eilling to setlle for is about to change.
This story is ALL THE FEELS! It’s incredible chemistry and sneaky, hot & dirty sexy times! It’s unconditional love and forgiveness. It’s a hilarious two year old and curious pre-teen boys that will give you endless comic relief. It’s sweet and emotional and I LOVED IT! The author writes with heart and handles the reality of life with humor and levity, but never shys away from emotion. Definitely on my list of favorites.
One of my all time favorite reads! Introduced me to Heather as an author and I’ve devoured everything she’s written since!
Anyone who has a young child knows that they pretty much only pick up the bad words, repeat the things you really don’t want them to and think they are so funny after saying it. Do parents say things they shouldn’t in front of kids in real life?? Oh HEll yes!! Do adults try to speak in code and have the kids end up repeating that?? Of course. This book had me laughing at Savage, his relationship with his brothers and the crazy stuff he said to Pooper (Cooper).
I love that not only did this book have some very funny comedic elements but there was also a bit of angst as well. It kept me interested throughout. It was a great read in between all the darker romance books, helped to lighten my mood and put a smile on my face.
I can’t wait to read more from Heather!!
I really enjoyed this story. I’ve already read Dopplebanger and to be honest I wish I had read this one first, but it still didn’t spoil my enjoyment though.
I think my favourite character overall is Kyle. Bless him, he certainly can make me laugh out loud with his antics. I really enjoyed this second chance romance. It was a fun and light read.
Loved this book it was funny, witty, and left a smile on my face. This is a romantic comedy heavy on the romance. I loved Spencer and Cooper’s second chance at their forever life together. These characters are real I could hear the Louisana accent as I read the words. I really enjoyed Cooper as the sexy southern gentleman that gets to be the hero not just to the love of his life but to her boys that really needed him. Great Book.
Loved this story and the characters. I will read more from this author.
This is my first book by her and I loved it.
Its a very difficult life for A single mom of three , Spencer LeBlanc. Her life is all about diapers, bottles, school, homework, tantrums, sickness and running after them. That leaves very little room for dating, love, sex .She’s harried, tired and still very happy and she LOVES her boys .
And that, dear friends, is how I became a walking contradiction—a thirty-three year-old sex therapist with absolutely no sex life.
She loses her job and has to move back to a small town in Louisiana with her mom and there she comes face to face with a boy who broke her heart good 15 years ago. Cooper Hebert is a successful lawyer who just got divorced and has moved back home. He’s sexy , handsome, successful ……..and he HATES kids!
What a difficult situation for both of them. It’s written with lots of humour and tenderness alike.
The last scene gave me goosebumps cause I saw it happen in real life . Taryn Fishers life !!
Fairytales DO come true …Yanno .
Both play a game of Dodge and Parry case both are not ready for commitment.
Man proposes and God disposes !!
“You think you’re protecting yourself from getting hurt by playing it safe?”
“I just wish I could make you see that by risking nothing, you risk everything.”
Matters of the heart are never straightforward. There are no right or wrong answers , the path to HEA is paved with many twists , turns and obstacles.
And diaper changes and poop everywhere and smell sticking to your hands !!
She really did write a hilarious scene 🙂
A good story and written very well. I really enjoyed reading it
4 poopey stars
This was my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. I’ve read it a couple of times now. I laughed through a lot of it. I could relate having grown up in a small town where everybody knows your business. Cooper and Spencer had loved each other all their lives until Cooper makes a bonehead decision years ago that ended their relationship. Fifteen years later and three failed relationships between them they’re both back in their parents homes next door to each other again and still as hot for each other as they were as teens. Their parents meddling good intentions are hard at work. Spencer’s guarded since he dumped her out of nowhere back then and rightfully so. Cooper is just now figuring out that what he thought he wanted for his life isn’t what he wanted at all. He’s not sure about her kids and she’s a single mother so there is no getting around it. Her parenting choices and challenges are too funny. The youngest is a crack up. Everybody with kids knows they say things that make you cringe and then leave the room to laugh your head off. My issue is with Spencer as a sex therapist not practicing what you preach. One, drunken hookups often produce children, every time for her. Two, that’s not how you talk to pre-teens about sex. It was funny but a sex therapist would be open and reassuring with the facts not using scare tactics with diseased pictures on the interwebs.
I really liked the secondary characters of Gina the best friend, their parents and the various townspeople and thought they made a full rounded story.
This book was hilarious. I haven’t laughed so much in ages. The story was great and I loved how it unfolded
