Boomerangers [boo-muh-rang-ers] noun, informal: an adult that moves back home to live with a parent after a period of independence.SpencerI love sex. I love the power, the intimacy, the euphoria it brings. Too bad I’m not having any . . . You’d think as New Orleans’ most renowned sex therapist that I’d be swimming in single men. In a way, I am . . . except for the fact that one is in diapers and … is in diapers and the other two are drowning in preteen hormones. As a single mother of three, my days are devoted to my clients and my kids, and my nights are spent with Fabio, my trusty vibrator. When my world begins to unravel, I have no choice but to move back home. And when my high school sweetheart comes waltzing back into my life, comedy and chaos ensue.
What can I say? I never said I could pick ’em, but you can bet your ass I know how to fix ’em.
Cooper
As soon as the ink dried on my divorce papers, I made myself a solemn vow: I was done with relationships. Moving home to take over my father’s firm was the plan, until Spencer decided to return, along with three souvenirs from the life she’s lived without me.
I’ve been in love with the girl next door for nearly all of my life; the rest was spent trying to forget her. I’d give almost anything for a second chance with her, but I have no time for distractions—especially the kind that involve diapers, bottles, and eighteen-year commitments.
The problem is, she’s already got me by the balls . . . and I’m beginning to feel the noose tightening around my heart.

One of my favorite books of the year! Hilarious, sexy, and un-put downable! FIVE stars!
This book is a true love story and will have you laughing the whole time!! Savage reminds me of my three year old so I was completely amused!! I have to say this is the shit book to actually make me laugh until I was in tears! I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone!!!
I loved this book so much!
This book has been on my tbr for along time now, I’m kicking myself for not reading this sooner! Lol! It was so good. And quite hilarious! I love Spencer, she’s sharp and witty and a really great character. And those boys, OMGosh, some of the things that came out their mouths. I’m laughing because I’ve been there with my son on some of that. And Spencer handled some of it like a champ!
Cooper – ugh! I wanted to hate him at first….he hates kids. Comes out his own mouth. All the time. But, learning his story, and his why, it make me adore him. It really did, the darn charmer!
***“Princess, I don’t know that there are words to adequately define what I think of you and us. Old friends felt most appropriate considering… But, if you need me to stand here and list all of the roles you’ve filled in my life… the voids you left when you took yourself out of it… I can.”
I can smell the coffee on his breath and have to fight the urge to lean in and taste it. Suddenly, I’m finding it extremely difficult to breathe. Why does the world always disappear when I’m with this man? How can a few words still ignite a fire in my blood?
Why?!? Why?
***Cooper hangs his head, studying his shoes. “You’re still as beautiful as ever, Spence,” he says as he lifts his brown eyes to meet mine. “You still make it hard to breathe.”
^^^ that’s why Spencer. Because boy oh boy is Cooper a charmer! He really is. And he is really sweet too once he learns to get over the mistake he made in the past.
The moms in this story totally cracked me up too, the meddling Moms!
If you want a funny, sweet, sexy read, this is for you!

~~4 5 SWOONALICOUS SECOND CHANCE STARS!~~
I fell in love with Heather M. Orgeron’s writing after reading DOPPELBANGER so I could not wait to dive into this interconnected stand-alone, BOOMERANGERS!
THE STORY:
This delightful rom-com features harried single mom, Spencer LeBlanc, who reluctantly moves back in with her mom in her hometown of Cedar Grove, with her passel of kids in tow, after losing her NOLA- based sex therapist job. Mere moments after she arrives, she bumps into her high school sweetheart, Cooper Hebert, who–SURPRISE—recently moved back home too to take over his retiring dad’s law practice!
Sparks fly, passion ignites, and broken hearts are slowly mended, but Spence has difficulty trusting her tumultuous feelings for her kidphobic true love who still leaves her BREATHLESS! Out of self preservation, she tries to keep her heart in check by insisting they embark on a strings-free dalliance. But Coop is determined to win this “Princess” back—at all costs—and when he steps up to the plate and pulls through for her…and her kids…can these two finally get a second chance at happily ever after?
MY MUSINGS:
Omfg…this book about two former flames who recapture their long lost love was just so sexy and fun-loving, endearingly sweet and HILARIOUS, with so many heart-tugging feels I could HARDLY CONTAIN MYSELF! I seriously could not stop laughing and sighing, blinking back tears and clutching my chest the entire time I was immersed in this wildly addictive book!
As far as BBFs go, roguishly charming Coop just had me SWOONING LIKE A STARRY-EYED SCHOOLGIRL. This hot, successful attorney is not only drop gorgeous and WELL endowed, but he is also so good-natured, funny, smart and kind that he just made me weak in the knees! And even though he admittedly had some a-hole moments, I love how he owned up to his mistakes and made no pretenses about the fact that Spence was, and always would be, the love of his life! His biggest regret was FOOLISHLY letting this amazing, beautiful and vibrant woman go. Only problem is that she moved on with her life and had kids with other men, which is a sore spot with him!! But sighhhhh. Watching those little minions gradually lay claim to his big ol soft heart is such a wondrous thing to behold!
And Spence is such a warm, relatable heroine! She is a fierce mama bear and it broke my heart for all she’d been facing alone. Yet at the same time, she was so fun and outgoing she had me wanting to share GNO cocktails with her and her flamboyant bestie Gina! Oh and her adorable brood touched my heart and left me in stitches. Particularly her potty-mouthed little tyke, Kyle aka “Savage.” That kid was a total RIOT!
This DELICIOUS second chance romance truly DELIVERED ON EVERY FREAKING LEVEL. I adored the sizzling sexual tension, Coop and Spence’s meddling, matchmaking momma’s, the LOL humor, the witty barbs, the hysterical family interaction, and MOST ESPECIALLY, the deep, abiding love churning between these two still crazy enamored childhood sweethearts who have a lot to work out as they try to navigate their complicated relationship .
Ultimately, this may be a rom-com but it also chock full of deeply poignant undertones and really packed an emotional punch!! Plus the sex was sizzling hot! And that HEA? Sob! Happy, joyous tears!!
BOTTOM LINE:
BOOMERANGERS gave me warm snuggly feels, made me giggle and gush and left me all aglow! And it proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that you CAN go home again! Now that I have two of Heather M. Orgeron’s books under my belt, I can unequivocally say this gloriously talented romance scribe is a new TOP FAVE of mine!! BOOMERANGERS is NOT to be missed!
Worth every heartache to laugh that hard
Directions:
1. Mix together a sex therapist and an attorney
2. Add in three kids
3. Sprinkle in some unchained lust
4. A best friend who keeps your head on
Surprise! You get the wildly entertaining Boomerangers. It’s not just a hash tag, it’s a way of life. I had a blast and will look for more from this fun and funny author.
Sometimes we read to escape reality, but sometimes it is fun to read about real life stories. You know, the ones that don’t include billionaires, but have everything to do with having to live with our parents, divorce, single moms and their kids who drop F-bombs.
Boomerangers is packed full of humor. I laughed out loud a few times, especially with the littlest character, aptly nicknamed Savage.
“You still make it hard to breathe.”
On top of the humor, it is also packed full of love with a sweet second chance romance as Cooper tries to get back the one that got away. There is a situation for everyone in this story. One you can relate to, one you heard a story similar to from a friend or one you lived through.
“Savage” amusement at its best!!! I loved everything about this book.
I LOVED this book. So funny with all the feels!
Ok I can’t put into words to express how much of an awesome book this is. I hope others are able to and you, not only read their review but decide that YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK.
Kyle is my second favorite book kid. I was cracking up at his antics. Almost got myself kicked out of bed for laughing so hard while my Mr was trying to sleep.
I do hope for more Cooper and Spencer esp after that epilogue ending. The book world needs more of their love in it. Plus more kid antics.
Spencer is a sex therapist with no sex life. She has been busy raising her three kids and trying to get over Cooper.
Cooper always loved Spencer and now their situations have brought them back together.
First, as a mother I loved the honesty and humor that Spencer had about her children. And the kids were spot on! Their relationship was funny and loving.
I couldn’t stop giggling. There were some moments when I got caught up in the emotions and teary eyed but this was a good comedy.
The characters were wonderfully written and developed. Their connections to each other were relatable. Loving and strong but messy and real. The emotions throughout the story, while humorous were realistic and deep.
An amazing story of second chances and recognizing family and home. I cannot say enough positive about this book.
I loved this hilarious second chance story of Spencer and Cooper. They were high school sweethearts and Spencer thought they would be together forever, until Cooper broke her heart and ended things. Cooper was kind of an idiot and just thought Spencer would wait for the perfect time for them to get back together. Spencer ended up in two other relationships that resulted in children. That fact broke Cooper’s heart. He couldn’t believe she had kids with other men, even though he knew it was his fault. He was a little bit of a jerk at first when it came to the kids, he didn’t want to accept them. I needed Cooper to take a bit more accountability for his actions. The kids were the best part of the book, they were adorable and sweet and funny. I love how much they care for each other and their mother. Spencer and Cooper sizzle when they are together. Cooper did slowly redeem himself from his negative comments and actually was really sweet and caring towards the kids.
Giving it four stars as there were a few very avoidable typos.
Really enjoyed the characters’ personalities. Great book.
Loved it!
I loved the 3 kids in this book and the little one priceless. I laughed until I cried. The parents were terrific too. It is hard to let go of past hurts but if you have the courage to forgive you might find a wonderful new perspective. The main characters relatable and looking forward to secondary character Gina’s story.
A fun read
I particularly appreciate the realistic, imperfect nature of the characters and the inclusion of the grandparent generation, it made the story richer.
Where do I begin. I laughed and I cried. And the characters were just wonderful. Spence and Cooper getting their story told. Oh the sex conversations with the kids – hysterical. The diaper change scene was so funny. The mamas planning and not holding back opinions keeps situations light. Little Ryan (AKA Savage ) is a scene stealer from the beginning. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will read more from this author. Would give 6 STARS if possible.
Some parts of this book had me laughing out loud! I’d recommend it
It’s a LOL book and I’ve just finished the second one. Equally as good.
