Belinda Fairfax has an ax to grind with Colt Branson. She’s been patient — as patient as can be expected by a woman who was jilted at the altar by the only man she’s ever loved. She quietly supported his decision to travel west in search of his missing sister. She wordlessly held her tongue when he and his brother opened a mail-order bride agency — with their one-of-a-kind Gallant Rescuer clause … clause — to help prevent any other would-be brides from suffering the way their sister had suffered.
However, Belinda draws the line at watching Colt’s brother, Jordan, fall in love and marry one of their lovely clientele. For all she knows, Colt may be courting someone, too. She breaks her silence with a letter, delivered to Headstone by the next mail-order bride. When a few months pass with no response, she decides writing isn’t enough. Without the funds to travel west to confront her former affianced, she sees no other choice but to sign one of his blasted bridal agency contracts and send herself to Arizona as a would-be bride!

This is Book #9 in the Mail Order Brides Rescue series and is Belinda and Colt’s story. The character development is excellent and the story action packed. I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it.
A delightfully different spin on the mail order bride genre. A little second chance thrown in to make the romance come alive with several twists and turns in the plot. A standalone but with some friends from previous books in the series.
I truly enjoyed this wonderful book, with excitement, mystery, love, disappointment, touching and Christian. Hard to put it down! Loved it!
So good, I Read this in two sittings. It was wonderful getting to find out the whole story of Belinda being left at the alter. Colt had given up on ever having a life with the only women he ever loved. He was searching for his Sister because of a death bed promise to his father. If you like clean stories, I highly recommend ‘Bookish Belinda’. I received this book from the publisher. The thoughts and comments are my own.
I really enjoyed reading this book! I recommend this book to anyone who loves to read! I got this book as an ARC and am giving this review of my own free will!
“I am getting married. I haven’t the foggiest notion to whom. Nevertheless, a week from now I will be a married woman!” That was Belinda’s thought as she signed the marriage contract and she would be on her way to Arizona. Confronting the man who she still loved and had left her over five years ago to look for his sister. But never contacted her.
To say the adventure begins and does not slow down is putting it mildly, what with her getting off the train and being taken by a bandit! Luckily Colt was there to pick her up and rescued her while getting shot. Oh yes, I was reading as fast as I can!!
So what would happen? Would Colt find her a groom or step in himself which was her hope!
Jo Grafford has such a gift for telling a story that always grabs me from the start. My heart went out to these two, both having missed the other. Although Colt was still looking for his sister and had a lot to deal with… Belinda might have looked bookish with her spectacles but she could be a spitfire!!
Cannot wait for more from this wonderful author!!
I very much enjoyed Belinda and Colt’s story! This one wasn’t about two strangers meeting as in the “mail order bride” scenario that usually happens. Belinda and Colt were actually engaged 5 years ago but Colt left Boston to find his sister who had been kidnapped and it’s been 5 long years that Belinda has been waiting to find out what the “status” is of their relationship. Well, she’s waiting no longer! She’s reached a financial point that she can’t hold out any longer either so she’s headed to Arizona to find some answers. Her “introduction” to Headstone, Arizona leaves much to be desired! However, I loved the sparring between her and Colt. We find out about what’s happened to Colt’s sister too so this is a must-read for those who have followed the series and if you haven’t, then you’ll catch on!
It has been five long years since Colt left Belinda to go find his sister who had been kidnapped by an outlaw. Now, Belinda is in desperate straits with her aunt. She decides to become a mail order bride and travels to Arizona to, either find Colt, or a husband. There is an immediate kidnapping attempt from which Colt rescues her. This story has several twists to it before it has a happy ending. It held my interest from beginning to end. Good, good story.
Belinda may be bookish but after five years she goes after what she wants. What she wants is to face her ex fiance Colt. He and his brother own a mail order bride company and she signs up for him to find her a husband. Once they are together it gets very interesting. This story will make your heart sing. Reviewed complimentary copy.
Loved Belinda and Colt’s story!! I love that Belinda took things into her own hands and decided she’d waited long enough for Colt to figure things out for himself! Colt finally realized how much Belinda meant to him, and that he’d been wrong to put things off between them. I’ve even changed my mind about Hunter after reading this story! I love that Shad was a part of things, too, since he’s another of my favorites.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
