He’s too hot for words.MiaAlex Lawson might as well be the hottest book boyfriend imaginable. A fun, romantic, possessive, panty-melting man. And the best part? He’s real. For a girl like me—a slightly awkward book addict—Alex is a dream come true, straight off the pages of my favorite romance novels. But our story is turning into a whirlwind romance—the kind that only exists in books. Are we … that only exists in books. Are we heading toward our own happily ever after? Or is he too good to be true?
Alex
Here’s the thing: I’m not a bad guy. Lying to Mia wasn’t part of the plan. Finding success as a romance author using a female pen name wasn’t part of the plan either. But sometimes life takes unexpected turns.
Like realizing the woman you’re falling for is your alter-ego’s online best friend.
Online, she thinks I’m a woman named Lexi. In person, she knows I’m all man. I want to worship her body and claim every inch of her. But if she discovers my secret, I could lose everything.
Book Boyfriend is a stand alone romance with a guaranteed to make you swoon HEA. It contains mature language and content and is intended for a mature audience. Fair warning, ladies—Alex will melt your panties off, so have an extra pair on hand before you one click.

This was such a cute and sweet romcom! I loved the premise and idea behind the story and it was a great twist to the traditional romantic comedy. This story within a story hooked me from the start and I loved seeing how everything began and unfolded between Alex and Mia. Yes, mistakes are made along the way, but given the history of our characters, it made sense (even if readers/listeners may disagree). Do I wish Alex came clean earlier? Of course, but I also understand why he didn’t. The ebook actually includes a very insightful author’s note about this, and I wish it would have also been included in the audio version. It definitely helped me put Alex’s actions into perspective. I also would have preferred that Mia not have been *quite* as clumsy and insecure, since it felt too over the top for me at times. The epilogue could not have been more perfect though and it contained my favorite passage from the entire book (comparing the h to the best book ever written? *swoon*) Another thing I really enjoyed, were the romance reader culture references the author threw into the story. It was such a fun nod to romance readers everywhere.
Both Stephen Dexter and Maxine Mitchell did a fantastic job narrating Alex and Mia. Their performances were lighthearted during the funnier and sillier moments, but also emotional when needed. Stephen Dexter especially was fantastic, voicing both male and female characters wonderfully and his umm… enthusiasm during the steamier scenes left me fanning myself! 😉 I did feel Maxine Mitchell sometimes sounded a little too serious as quirky and clumsy Mia, but overall, both narrators did a fantastic job bringing this story to life. This was my first book by Claire Kingsley, but it certainly won’t be my last! I’m excited to continue on with the series and start Kendra’s story next!
My first go with Claire Kingsley and I am HOOKED!!! Such a great concept and fun but heart-wrenching read. Couldn’t put it down!!

I loved Alex and Mia’s story! It was such a sweet romance and they were so easy to fall in love with. Alex truly is the perfect book boyfriend! And Mia brings out his best qualities.

Book Boyfriend is such a fun, flirty, and enjoyable story! I absolutely loved the story between Alex and Mia, as it had a unique storyline that I had never seen before. Looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series!
I’m mad at myself. I’m mad because I have NEVER read a Claire Kingsley book before now. Why haven’t I read a Claire Kingsley book prior to this one?! Why didn’t anyone tell me!
Anyway, Alex is a writer. He’s stuck in a book rut and can’t seem to get his story off the ground.
Kendra, Alex’s sister, is an editor. She’s been staring at her brother’s sci-fi story for years. She suggests he move in a different direction with his writing. As hesitant as he is to do so, he takes her advice and makes some changes.
Mia is clumsy, sweet, and a voracious reader.
What better story line than two people who meet in a bookstore?! Where the sexy man BUYS HER BOOKS?!
I can’t say enough about this book. This is one of those feel good, sweet-as-pie, dirty dirty sex kind of books. It’s fun and light and, did I mention, dirty?!
There has to be some drama, which I will not reveal here because it’s just too good to spoil, and the characters have some things to work through. But OMG. Just get this freaking book and read it. You can swoon over Alex and Mia just like I did.
And after you read this book, go ahead and have Cocky Roommate lined up because you’re going to want Kendra’s story.
Short review. Well written sweet love story I enjoyed it from the first page to the last I was disappointed when it was over. The characters are likeable and you understand their motivation for why they do the things they do.
What to say about Book Boyfriend? It was amazing!! Alex, Swoon Worthy, Lawson….he was everything you’d expect a book boyfriend to be….smart, funny, caring, working hard to make sure his family is taken care of, trying to stay afloat with the weight of the world on his shoulders…then he sees Mia in a bookstore, and that was it for him!! And Mia, oh my goodness, this girl is adorable with her runaway mouth, clumsy hands & feet, and pure awkwardness!! She’s as cute as a button…how could you not love her!! They hit a snag in their relationship and our resident book boyfriend gets the inspiration to go all out to get his girl!! I did not want this book to end!
