Margaret Moseley’s colorful and unforgettable Edgar Award-finalist that captures Fannie Flagg’s homespun charm and Janet Evanovich’s laugh out loud humor. When small town girl Bonita Faye’s abusive husband, car salesman and fishing guide Billy Roy is killed, she begins an adventurous new life that takes her from Poteau, Oklahoma to Paris and back again in a story of murder and redemption…and … redemption…and more murder… stretching over three decades.
“Bonita Faye is one of the funniest, most resourceful and optimistic fictional heroines you’ll ever come across.” Dallas Morning News
“Bonita Faye is the Eliza Doolittle of the dust bowl.” Associated Press
“Poignant, humorous, captivating…a startlingly fresh voice and a literary original you’ll want to share with friends.” Tulsa World

Well written if a bit predictable for a plot. Now if the rest of us in the world would get the same breaks Bonita Faye did life would be wonderful.
In the beginning I did not like this book, but as I read more the book developed into a great story. Definitely a good read.
Rambling stream of consciousness. Not even proper grammar. Did not finish. Never could find a story line.
I did not want this book to end.
A delight. Impossible to read this without having your mood lifted every day until the last page.
Clever, but not my type of book. A good change of pace, though.
Truly enjoyed the story, the characters and the progression of how things turned out. It was in interesting read.
I loved this book and was sorry when it was over. I could not put it down and read it in one sitting.
One of the best! Enjoyed this book and recommended it to several friends
I enjoyed it from the very first page. Makes you wonder what actions we would be capable of in similar circumstances.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading this one
While the book became a little slow in a few places, it is absolutely worth reading clear to the end. Characters are familiar and approachable ; and the storyline is believable and entertaining.
I really enjoyed this book!
This book is a treasure. Bonita Faye is one of those unique and engaging characters who stay with you far after you finish the book.
This book was an original. Very different from most other books I usually read. I loved it. The main character was so interesting & real. I was sorry when it was finished
It was a quick read, but not much substance. I wouldn’t buy it again.
If you like tragic, this book is for you. I’m not sure why it was listed under “Cozy Mysteries”. The writing was done well, I just don’t enjoy all the sadness.
When I first started to read this book, I felt that I would not like it. But I continued. And every chapter had something new. The ending can’t help bring a smile to you.
Enjoyed. Different from the usual cozy mystery.
