Loss is not something I’m accustomed to. However, it’s what I’m faced with now because I can’t remember. I’ve tried so hard to find what I’m looking for, and while I’ve done my best, it still eludes me. The memory comes and goes in glimpses of a faded past and possible future, yet I can’t grasp it. Not yet. Stay close and don’t look back. This is going to be a hard road, but we’ll get through … don’t look back.
This is going to be a hard road, but we’ll get through this together.
We have to.
You’re the only hope I have left.

“I wasn’t sure if it was the sound of her voice, the way her eyes lit up when she talked, or my wanton need to sever her head from her neck that kept me coming back to her.”
Ok. Where to start.
I am not one to be affected by anything I read. I love a good horror book or a suspensful thriller that keeps me on the edge my seat. The more gory, the better. The darker the character, the better.
Well, let me tell you, this one? I have never been so tense, so on edge, so horrified, and so uncomfortable while reading. This character, Guy Buress, is one twisted man. The things he does to his victims is depicted in the most glorious, gory details I have ever read. I absolutely LOVED it!!
This book is not for the faint of heart. It’s dark, gory and gruesome. It is deliciously horrific and the object of his ultimate target? Well, you won’t believe who it is.
Leave a light on when you go to bed, at least for a little while. You’re going to need it!
I’ve been wanting to read this author for quite a while now. This was the first book I decided to take the plunge with and I am so happy I found it in an audiobook format!
I was looking for something twisted yet realistic and this book executed both of those things on my list. If you’re not used to reading horror, tread lightly. This may not be the book for you as there are some pretty graphic scenes that may trigger you.
Yolonda lets you see what it’s like filling the shoes of a serial killer and pushes far beyond the limits of dark and disturbing.
Guy Burress did an amazing job narrating this book. I felt the dark and sexual hunger the main character (also named Guy) feels and his emotion was spot on every time!
Guy is a messed up guy! He claims not to be a serial killer but boy does he do things to make him seem worse than one. It is definitely a brutal book and graphic but it was written beautifully because you get to see inside his mind. The story is told from his perspective and I love that because it makes it more creepy! The ending was crazy but I wish it went into more detail on It. Sucks that through the whole book he has a task this woman he needs to get and at the very end you dont really get to read about his experience with her. This was my first book read from this author. I do love her already and cant wait to read her other masterpieces
When the character is introduced as
I’m not a messy man.
I’m not a serial killer.
I can stop anytime I want to.
I am NOT crazy.
You know the book is going where not many people to dare go.
But yolanda’ brain doesn’t follow the prescribed norms. Never has !
It’s a dare kind of disturbing story, few VERY cringe worthy moments. Read at your own discretion !

She’s The Queen Of Dark.
First, if you can, read this w the audio Bc it heightens the experience. The Narrator doesn’t just read to you. He becomes Guy and just makes it that much better.
Second, please oh please read responsibly. That means read the warning. This is not for the faint at heart.
Ahhhh Guy. This dude is so smart and self aware. He’s not crazy. He’s not a killer. And he’s not a smoker. He has complete control over everything and can stop anything at anytime. Everything he does is by choice. So stop thinking otherwise.
So was Guy talking about me at the end? Do I need to be careful of who knocks on my door next?
Sweet Lord Baby Jesus. What. Did. I. Just. Read?!?! The majority of the books I read have trigger warnings – what can I say, I’m drawn to the dark and depraved. All I can say is you better heed them with Bones and everything Guy Burress brings to the table. He’s a total psychopath even though he thinks he’s somewhat normal. AS IF! It. Is. Brutal. There is no amount of sugar I can throw on this one to sweeten it up. There is a chapter, and everyone that has read it will know what one I’m referring to, where I nearly packed it in and said NOPE, can’t finish it. But I did and am happy to say I survived…I think. I loved the book and pretty sure I don’t want anyone to analyze what that says about me. That ending – not gonna lie, it took me a full 12 hours after finishing it to “get it”. Brilliant, and yea, pretty creepy…
So if and when the world turns to crap, Yolanda, you are on my team – ain’t no way I’m facing off with you and how your brain works.
Listen, only Yolanda can write a book like this and make it seem like a walk in the park as opposed to an actual walk through a psychopath’s mind. This book is everything that you’d need in a dark, dirty, twisted taboo read. If you’re squeamish I would still recommend it, because everyone needs to experience a little insanity that only Yolanda seems to be able to throw down the way she does with Guy Burress. I wish the book was longer but other than that this was one hell of a crazy ride into Guy’s world!
For those of you who like dark, you’re going to love it. For everyone else like me who can’t watch horror movies, read fast and hide under the blankets. It was intense, I read faster at times because I needed to know what happened next right NOW. My heart raced, I was grossed out at times wondering how on Earth the author thinks of this stuff.
Yolanda always leaves me thinking what the!!! at the end. This time it was totally different, I’ll admit I didn’t even ‘get it’ until some time later and laughed my head off when I did….then checked under my bed.
Unbelievable!!
Yolanda Olson has become the Queen of the twist. You see the book going in one direction, and you’re watching that road, and when you least expect it – BOOM!! The road you were on ends and you find yourself in a completely different place!
She has done it again, and I don’t even know if I can say more than that, and watch out for Chapter 6, without giving anything away!
Be ready. Hold onto your hats. Buckle your seat belt and…enjoy??…the ride.
I was completely speechless after reading this book. What did I just read!!! Do not read this book in the dark or while eating, booze is recommended.
It is one f**ked up, bloody and gory story. Full of horrors. It takes you on a journey into the mind of a serial killer, but he is not crazy he will tell you and can stop at any moment. It is unlike anything i even read before.
And that ending……
