Welcome to Patricia Briggs’s world, a place where “witches, vampires, werewolves, and shape-shifters live beside ordinary people” (Booklist). It takes a very unusual woman to call it home—and there’s no one quite like Mercy Thompson. By day, Mercy Thompson is a car mechanic in the sprawling Tri-Cities of Eastern Washington. By night, she explores her preternatural side. As a shape-shifter with … preternatural side. As a shape-shifter with some unusual talents, Mercy’s found herself maintaining a tenuous harmony between the human and the not-so-human on more than one occasion. This time she may get more than she bargained for.
Marsilia, the local vampire queen, has learned that Mercy crossed her by slaying a member of her clan—and she’s out for blood. But since Mercy is protected from direct reprisal by the werewolf pack (and her close relationship with its sexy Alpha), it won’t be Mercy’s blood Marsilia is after.
It’ll be her friends’.

Mercy one kick butt female I must say!!! This is another fabulous addition to her adventures where we find her yet again in the cross hairs of someone she managed to make a little too mad. It just happens to be really bad luck that it is Fae with their magic as well. The story will keep you guessing as it all plays out with twists and turns coming at every page. A total must read for fans of paranormal suspense. I cannot wait to see what happens next. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
This book focuses on Mercy and her ability to see ghosts and vampires. She has been speaking to ghost since the beginning of the series but in this one we actually start to see how this is a very powerful weapon for a walker.
Her relationship with Adam is finally set but they still have traumas to overcome and angry packmates to deal with. Now onto the next book!
Patricia Briggs could write a crime novel and I’d read it. I love her Mercy Thompson series to death. Reading Iron Kissed never fails to make me cry and Bone Crossed picks up where Iron Kissed left off. Such a great series!
And if you like Mercy, check out Alpha and Omega as well!
Love this series!
Always good writing, witty, clever turns of event. Interesting characters.
I love Patricia Briggs books! Mercy is irrepressible, loyal and real, in a way many characters in books aren’t ( grease encrusted hands, insecurities and great baking ability).
A fan of werewolves, witches and vampires? Then you must read all of the Mercy Thompson series!
Wonderful author…
I grew up in Eastern Washington – so the geography appeals and the story is good as well.
Patricia Briggs’ Mercy stories are always enthralling regardless of how many times I read them.
I love the Mercy books by Patricia Briggs. Each one is a great story of it’s own, but with each book, you get more insight into the world of Mercy Thompson. Always a great adventure that I cannot wait to dive into.
Have always liked her books.
Love all her books
Love the Mercy Thompson books. The building of her and Adams relationship is interesting. All the characters in the series are great.
I love the author she does a good job
Well written
Great series. I usually don’t like stories about werewolves, vampires and such. But our vulnerable but courageous heroine makes the series great
I have enjoyed all of the books in this series. I would and have read them again.
A book you can reread.
I liked the continuation of interesting characters.
