Let me tell you, I loved this story; it was just magnificent. I think it’s the best of the series. I absolutely loved the main characters and how the author brought forth all of their feelings. Just TERRIFIC and BEAUTIFULLY written. I want to keep gushing, but I think you get the picture. The hero is devastated after a terrible family loss, he doesn’t know how he can continue until he meets “the one”. Although she feels the strong attraction, she refuses to accept him as she feels their differences will bring him harm. He won’t give up trying, as they work together to stop a new enemy. I try not to do spoilers, but I tell you there is so much more happening between the lines I’ve written here. Do not pass up this book, I’m telling you your going to love it from beginning to end.
I hadn’t read a dragon shifter novel in a while so when I saw this one offered for free, I decided to get it. I’m glad I did because it was actually quite a good story! Imagine a world where shifters, vampires, humans, immortals, etc, live in peace with each other. All is well until a new species, called the Elysians, try to take over!!!
Hope is a dragon shifter and Aaron is an immortal. When they first meet, sparks fly and Hope’s dragon knows he’s their mate but Hope herself will do anything to prevent it since it’s a known fact that dragon shifters cannot mate with anyone who isn’t a dragon shifter, otherwise that mate will die. All she wants is to protect Aaron but when they are forced to partner up to try to stop the Elysians from their evil deeds, emotions and hearts take over.
Well written with lots of excitement and with characters you can’t help but like. I would definitely recommend this book.
Finding your own path
I love this book! Between the pages are shifters, dragon shifters, immortals, humans and ascendents, even a good guy, disguised as a bad guy, who is trying to prevent the rebels from hurting others. Our hero and his lady struggle through two missions, misconceptions and past hurt to find their HEA. But once they just let nature take it’s course, they fit together with ease. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
I haven’t read a bad book from this author yet and this book is no exception! The great plot and character development kept me so engaged throughout the entire book that I had a very hard time putting this book down until the very last page was turned!
“I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.”
Love the series so far
A dragon could not mate with another species, that had been told ever. When Hope met Aaron an Ascendant, she felt a strong attraction she had to struggle with. When a powerful Elysian was threatening all of them, she had to listen to her dragon and accept what must be. Aaron, still mourning his brother, felt lost to the world, but seemed Hope was giving him a second chance. An intense and very interesting story with action, suspense, strong emotions and a powerful attraction between two souls that were destined to be one. Interesting the strong dragon heroine and her struggle to keep Aaron safe. Intrigued with the powerful evil Elysian and his step-brother. Liked the plot development and the passion in the story.
Full of angst and forbidden longing and lust.. Emotional, sexy and fast paced read! 🙂
A coming together of different factions isn’t where this began, but how it will continue once Aaron arrives on Hope’s island home. The chemistry is explosive and still Hope denies it in order to save Aaron from certain death….or so she believes. Fighting against an enemy that until now couldn’t influence dragons. Someone inside is telling tales? How else is the enemy on point? While the connection between Hope and Aaron grows, they must focus on rescuing innocence from the clutches of the enemy. Want to know the full story……read it!
Loved this story. To find your mate but know that it would kill him if you bonded. She will ignore and fight her feelings and keep pushing him away. Her duty is to her species and will not change that. But one handsome immortal guardian isn’t about to give up anytime soon. The story has lots of action as an enemy appears who has an unknown agenda.
I don’t normally read these types of books but the tag sounded good and I really enjoyed it. Her characters are so different, but believable. Now she has me hooked on this series I highy recommend this series.
Thus far, I would have to say this is Laxmi Hariharan’s best book yet. I have long enjoyed her use of color to convey emotions, but the narrative of this book takes that skill to a new level. This one verges on poetry, with its lilting cadence and tangible metaphors. The visual images drew me in, binding me to these characters and painting a clear and beautiful (because there’s really no other word to describe it) picture in my head. The bond between Hope and Aaron was described in meticulous detail that never became weighed down in repetition or verbosity.
One of my complaints in previous books from Laxmi Hariharan was her dependence on particular phrases that appeared with too much frequency to overlook. With this book, she has perfected her prose by adding variety while still retaining her unique style — a style that uses brilliant physical imagery to convey intense logic-defying emotions.
I think one of the things I enjoyed most about this story was the slow build between Hope and Aaron. The focus was always on the connection between them and the inescapable strengthening of that bond, even as they attempted to fight it. Though the connection was described in physical terms, the actual physical connection between them was a long time in the making. They had bonded on the soul level long before they bonded physically. When they finally did, at the end of the book, there was something ethereal and spiritual about it that might not have existed without the stronger bonds having been forged first.
Overall, I would have to recommend this book because, as I mentioned earlier, I think it is Laxmi Hariharan’s best to date and I’m looking forward to the next as I expect her skill to increase yet more.
ARC Review For honest review. Aaron a garden of the city and who is morning his twin meets hope a dragon shifter . When the leader of the council of bombay ask for volunteers to find the right and the kidnapped drag shifter they agree to combine their efforts to find them awesome story
Liked the interesting back story that is interspersed through the story. Instead of a boring intro where you get so much info that most of it is forgotten. It helps to make for a sour foundation. I loved Aaron. Poor Aaron who mourns his twin is lost and can’t seem to numb the pain anymore until he meets hope. A fierce dragon shifter. But she keeps her self held back for she knows anyone not of dragon lineage won’t survive the psychic link of a mating. But her dragon has recognized him as her mate. The whole story is a push and pull of them trying to get the other to back off. Even though they know that the other is their mate. Good story.
This book had me hooked as to what would happen next. I couldn’t put it down. It’s filled with hot and steamy love scenes that make you feel like it’s happening to you.
While there was a HEA, I found the book over all pretty boring. The main female char was seriously TSTL and the male counterpart was not much better. I fell asleep a couple times trying to get through it. I am such a sucker for shifter books and I kept hoping it would pick up some. It did around the halfway point but not enough! I finished it just because…not a good choice on my part. I was awful.
Fantastic reading! Love all her books!
Fantastic
I loved this first book in the series. Hope is a dragon shifter, who lets the city of Bombay discover that Dragon shifters are real when she sneaks away from home and into a bar. Aaron, a Guardian of the City, an Ascendant and an Immortal, is at the bar drowning his grief from losing his twin with booze when Hope walks in. The two discover a connection just before everyone in the bar is attacked by a psychic assault from an Elysian. Aaron and Hope work together to fight the Elysians who continue to attack. Will these two be able to have their HEA? Afterall they are different species.
A fast paced paranormal read that has it all. Edge of your seat action with twists and turns, drama, humor, HOT romance and great characters. The story is captivating from start to finish. A must read for all paranormal fans
I loved this book. Aaron and hope’s story was exciting romantic hot and kept me on the edge of my seat. Couldn’t put it down. The only problem with these books is I can’t put them down til I’m finished.
