Not the usual girl meets boy book. Very realistic characters & scenarios.
Everyone has a journey to take. This journey hit true inspiration to anyone struggling with self image, weight, food, family relationships. An emotional, encouraging, fun read. None of us are alone. Loved it.
Easy reading, likely inspirational to women who have weight and/or body issues.

Great book! Really enjoyed reading this and filled with believable characters.
This story was hard to read as a fat girl with similar issues, but I enjoyed the story and it gave me hope. Nice to see a character similar to myself
It was REAL! I was glued to it til I finished!
Enjoyed reading it and it left me thinking in new ways about family relationships.
Delightful! Give up bon bons and donuts and head to the gym! This book is more entertaining and interesting than the title implies. A fun read that also makes you think about your lifestyle but not in a preachy way.
Wish I had read it many years ago!
I related to the character a lot. I completely understand the insecurities. Loved this book

Real life
A book that talks about what so many go through and why. Put in a great story
Starting a weight loss and fitness journey myself, I was intrigued by the title. I was looking for a pick-me-up, positive and affirming book with a character informed by my own experiences. That is exactly what I found here. A young woman is desperate to lose weight to meet a young man she is dating on the internet. They are set to meet in a few months, and she is embarrassed by her weight. And so begins a story which has friendship, and shows the negative mental state that we need to overcome to be able to work on our weight loss goal. There are lots of tips, and the progress of the young lady and her friends is realistic. There are unexpected plot twists, you come to really like all the characters, and the end is uplifting. The focus on health and fitness over a weight number to impress another person comes as an epiphany to the protagonist, and we come to see that losing weight is just a part of becoming more fit and healthy, and that it takes time, dedication, and support. The only “bad buy” is her own negative self-talk, which she overcomes! A feel-good book, especially great for anyone trying to lose weight or to support someone who is working on their health!!!!
Kind of a breath of fresh air
So lighthearted and unique
The author clearly knows what it is like to be overweight and struggle with overeating. The end was a bit too simple for me, but it was a good read.
