Lexie Greene has always had such a pretty face.
Unfortunately, that’s where it seemed to stop. She’s grown up hearing her Mother constantly remind her that she needs to lose weight. And twenty-two-year-old Lexie knows she’s overweight.
With her younger sister’s wedding on the horizon and a crush to stalk on Facebook, Lexie’s had enough. She gives up her constant daydreams about food and joins a … about food and joins a dieting group. As the pounds melt away at the gym, she finds that life on the other side of junk food isn’t what she thought.
Bon Bons to Yoga Pants is an inspirational hit about a girl coming to terms with herself, and her past, all while navigating a world of food and fitness.

A story of learning about one’s self.
Nice book to read. If you’re trying to lose weight. This is a nice motivation
The characters are real and deep. It’s a love story more about finding one’s self as your true love to better enable you to love others. Fabulous!
Thanks to author Katie Cross for a digital copy of this book. All comments and opinions are my own.
I was expecting a light, chick-lit book about an overweight young woman who overcomes eating issues. I was pleasantly surprised that there was more depth to the story than that. Lexie wants to lose a substantial amount of weight because she’ll be meeting the boy of her dreams for the first time in person, at her sister’s wedding in six months. She joins a weight loss support group with a friend of her mother’s called The Health and Happiness Society. She goes to the gym, changes her eating habits, and weighs herself. That’s the expected part. As the novel progresses, the story becomes more realistic as Lexie realizes the reasons for her eating disorder and how it affects her relationships with her friends and family.
I enjoyed reading how Lexie changed – her attitudes and her maturity – and gained more confidence as she lost weight. The climax was entertaining and I found the book to be engaging and encouraging. It did make me hungry while I was reading, though.
Love, love, love this book! I couldn’t put it down. The author found a way into my head and put on paper my thoughts and feelings about food, weight and all the pain that goes along with it. I cried, laughed out loud, and cheered. Read this book. You won’t regret it.
I started reading this story on Wattpad and fell in love with the first couple of chapters! I felt bonded to Lexie since I have had the same struggles as she was going through this book. The greatest thing about this book was that the protagonist Lexie was HUMAN. You felt her pain and were cheering her on throughout the book. It’s the first book in the 5 Health and Happiness Society series!
I can’tell stop reading this book! I love all the charaters. You just want to keep going to see what happens next. You really care about the characters and hope for happy endings for them all. Very relatable. Love it!
This a book everybody in general but anybody in particular with some issue about them self MUST READ. Through Lexie’s life change of attitude from eating all the time and hiding from the world to blossoming as a wonderful person from outside and most import from inside, Katie Cross teach us what really in live: you must love yourself in order to be truly happy and enjoy life.
Slow start made up for by fun ending.
This book spoke to me in a way that no books have managed to do in years! As a fellow big girl who is determined to love myself, I loved Lexie’s journey!!!! I’ve never related to a book so much. Highly recommend this book!
Super easy read! Great story line and the characters were very realistic. Loved this book!
This isn’t not just a diet book.
In the beginning, I thought that I wouldn’t be able to finish this book. The main character started off annoying and so insecure. I cringed at so often but that was because I realized that she was going through what every woman has gone through. Even me. I once had her outlook on life. Then she began to change. It’s most girls lives crunched into a few months. I applaud the changes she made, the struggles she experienced. I’m glad I finished the book.
I’m in love with this book. I couldn’t put it down until I was done.
I really enjoyed this book I know a lot of people who should read it they might learn a lot about themselves and otjers
Bon Bons to Yoga Pants
(The Health and Happiness Society #1)
by Katie Cross
For many there is the same journey of not measuring up to the worlds judgmental view of what everyone should look like; thin, beautiful and a super-model. The journey of weight loss is very much a struggle for many, everybody has insecurities and fears of what others think about the way someone looks. Realistically, searching for the “world’s ideal outside view” of what everyone should look like, is never going to make everyone happy on the inside. Once I started, I could not put it down! I wanted to know what would happen.
Bon Bons to Yoga Pants is an inspirational story of the journey, so realistic, and moving. The book has it’s tear jerker, moments and is a great story; proving that what you think about yourself will make you happier, than trying to conform to what people think of you. I read the whole book, even though I kind of hated it. The author narrative style is horrifyingly judgmental, the world has a very harsh view on people’s size; but, few are willing to think about why. I have friends that have issues with weight due to health-related issues. Bon Bons to yoga pants was funny, engaging and most of all relevant to the issues of weight loss. I give Bon Bons to Yoga Pants, a three-star rating, as it was an informative, and inspirational read.
Refreshingly written
Great book for people with eating disorders. Makes you take a step back and look at the why’s of emotional eating.
