The number 1 New York Times–bestselling author is back with an electrifying new entry in the FBI series featuring Savich and Sherlock.FBI Special Agent Griffin Hammersmith, last seen in Backfire, has been recruited by Dillon Savich to join his unit in Washington, D.C. Savich sees something special in Hammersmith, an almost preternatural instinct for tracking criminals. While on his way to D.C., … criminals.
While on his way to D.C., Hammersmith plans to visit his sister, Delsey, a student at Stanislaus School of Music in Maestro, Virginia. Before he arrives, he gets a phone call that Delsey was found naked, unconscious, and covered with blood after a wild party. The blood isn’t hers—so who does it belong to?
Meanwhile, back in D.C., Savich and Sherlock have their hands full when the grandson of former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank is found murdered, every bone in his body broken, and frozen at the foot of the Lincoln Memorial.
Was Savich right—is Griffin gifted with a unique ability to “see” how criminals think? And will he figure out who was behind the attempt on Delsey’s life—before it’s too late?

I LOVE all of her FBI books!! Have them all!!
Enjoyed the plot twists and the way Coulter made her characters into well developed people.
Great read, well worth the time!
True to form.
Wonderful. A real page turner. Grabs you from page one.
Great book. Catherine coulter comes thru again.
I have read many books from this author and she never disappoints. Another great read!!
Great read as always from Catherine Coulter
Have never read a book by CC that wasn’t good!
Catherine Coulter is one of my favorite authors and I wasn’t disappointed. Unexpected endings. I love the development of characters. From the first few pages I was hooked.
Good as usual
Great mystery, good love story. Couldn’t put it down. I would read a sequel.
If you have ever read anything from Catherine Coulter, you know in advance the type of story it is going to be……good. Some of her characters return book after book and she introduces new ones in almost all her books. The books are easy to read, entertaining and enjoyable. The characters are likeable – if it were less dangerous, you’d love having them as your neighbors! From reading her other books, we get to know the FBI couple and MAX and are curious how old their son, Sean is doing, and so forth. Her books are always entertaining, never very scary, but more like going to visit your favorite in-laws -comfortable.
I always enjoy Catherine Coulter books. An excellent author.
Excellent addition to the series. A great read.
I like all of CoulterCoulter’s books. A lot of suspense, good characters, and a little scary.
I had to read this book straight thru once I started and am eager for the next Sherlock, Savich, Hammersmith and DEA Agent Lilyanna. This series is one of my favorites from Catherine Coulter! Her characters are terrific and believable no matter which side of the law they live by. I like that she puts current issues in her storylines.
Love this author’s books.
Like the whole series keeps your attention
Loved it. Each book in the series just gets better.
