From the author of Bohemian Law and Bohemian Mark comes the highly anticipated third installment in the standalone Traveler Series, Bohemian Patience. While there are interconnecting characters, this book can be read as a standalone.Being a gypsy means going into an arranged marriage. My siblings fought against it, but not me. Having a woman who was raised to be a wife, a mother, and warm body … a wife, a mother, and warm body for me to sink into?
Sounded good to me.
Unfortunately, my new wife is not what I expected.
She’s mouthy, bratty, and gets on my last nerve.
But I’m no quitter and I’m not afraid to put in the work.
So, I romanced my wife. I gave her time and space. I had patience.
I realized she was fighting a much bigger battle than I had even known.
She’s spent her life being told she’s evil and cursed.
That’s not who she is.
She’s beautiful, smart, and has big dreams.
She’s more than a bride to be sold off. More than a prize to be won.
Now, more than ever, I’m determined to be her champion.
The only thing she wants is freedom.
And now that she has it, will she choose me?

Y’all, I know you are not supposed to swear…but I swear, lol that every time in pick up a Misty Walker book I feel like I am watching a movie. Her words are so vivid to me that I get lost in them and I can see everything she is saying on paper. It’s AMAZING!!
So what I am trying to say…. is I absolutely LOVED this book!! I am so fascinated by the Gypsy life, and Freedom and Patience story is now my favorite!!!
The banter, the sexiness of Freedom and the sassy ass mouth of Patience had me rolling with laughter at times and fanning myself later, cuz the sexual tension was smoldering HAWT!!
5 “favorite couple” Stars! Misty I hope you write more of their story cuz I really didn’t want this book to end!
PS…love LOVE this cover..so beautiful!!!
Bohemian Patience was a really fun and engaging arranged marriage New Adult romance. Even though the characters are young I found both of them to be really mature for their age and I enjoyed seeing them grow as individuals and as a couple. Freedom is very attracted to Essie and doesn’t really mind the arranged marriage to her, however, Essie doesn’t want anything to do with him. She has dreams and thinks that Freedom will hinder her in achieving them.
But she doesn’t know that Freedom will become her biggest supporter. Essie does her best to resist Freedom and even when he agrees with her on things and lets her be free, she doesn’t fully trust him. She is waiting for the other shoe to drop, but Freedom step by step shows her that she can trust and open up to him. This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed her writing style. The characters were very likable and I was able to fully connect with them.
Bohemian Patience deserves an infinite amount of golden stars. In this work of art Misty Walker captures love that is all encompassing and non-judgmental, a rarity in life. In this gem you will learn, that patience and a free heart are key factors to a new beginning. To truly move forward in life you have to accept the pain and turmoil. But what you do with that pain, will be your compass in life. Freedom and Essie have an undeniable intimate attraction, they both love intensely and are in sync to each other’s emotion, no words needs to be spoken. You will yearn for every orgasmic kiss, and forbidden touch, that will leave you in combustible desire. Misty Walker your brilliance and creative imagination is astounding. You weaved an intricate tapestry of love and longing, to hope and redemption. I lost my heart to the Bohemian Band Simply Amazing.
I loved Bohemian Patience. It was really interesting to read about the Romani culture and see how different Freedom and Essie’s own views were. I loved how independent Essie was and how persistent Freedom was. They had lots of great scenes together and great chemistry.
Bohemian Patience is book 3 of the traveler series by Misty Walker, it can be read as a complete standalone but I think you will enjoy it more if you read the first two books too.
This is the story of Freedom (man bun alert!) and Essie. Freedom is 21, he likes the gypsy way of life, he wants to follow the traditions, take a wife and work hard. He is loyal to his family and his beliefs. Essie is only 18 and has dreams that take no place in a gypsy woman’s married life, where they are treated like property and are expected to have children and obey their husbands.
In this book we see more of the of the traveler Romani community, their culture and customs. We are introduced to new characters like Essie’s grandmother Mami, who is an old lady that practices natural medicine and reads the tarot and palms. Essie has a wounded soul and is trying to figure herself out. She lives under her father and stepmother’s roof where she has been ignored and stigmatized. She wants to be free and longs for a life that an uneducated gypsy woman would never have a chance to have.
Freedom and Essie’s fathers agree to marry the couple without them knowing. Freedom is reluctant at first but then he agrees with the arrangement and is happy once he knows who the bride to be is. Resigned and with no other option of escaping her father’s mistreatment, Essie accepts the arrangement. She is very clear with Freedom though, this is only a marriage of convenience for her, an opportunity to figure out her life and plan her future, then she’ll leave.
“I expect an apology when you fall in love with me”
Freedom doesn’t pressure her, Essie’s attitude is negative, she is bitter and ungrateful but he is patient and caring, he defends her and helps her fight her battles. Essie’s walls start to fall down and the couple go on a journey of knowing each other, sharing their dreams and falling in love.
“little by little, the scales tip when we’re alone and bared to each other. It’s still scary, but he is worth the risk. He’s worth everything to me”
This book is one that you won’t regret reading. The world of the traveler series is intriguing, magic and sucks you in from the start. The author has created unique characters, with quirks, strong personalities and real battles to fight. Misty has become one of my favourite authors and I hope she continues to gift us with her stories and her talent.
“If I want to win the heart of my wife, I’ve got to go to war. And there are no rules in love and war.“
I’m just going to jump into this review… I got a lot to say.
I know this book is about the roaming Gypsies. But I truly felt bad for Essie. She was treated like an object. And even though Freedom really liked her. He went along with his customs to have her.
That’s what rubbed me the wrong way about this book. Because Essie just went from one house where her father called all the shots to Freedom’s house, talking on her behalf. I even felt trapped while reading certain parts of this book. Certain phrases like “I let you” were thrown out. And it had me going!
She was given no choice or a voice. This was very much a forced marriage. She had no other choice but to go along with what Freedom wanted to do. I know he’s not a bad guy… but I think…. he could’ve won her over by building up a friendship before they got married. Have her want to be with him willingly. Let her fall for him.
“He has no idea what it’s like to grow up a female Romani. No idea what it’s like being told you’re nothing but an addition to a man. First as a daughter, and second as a wife. That’s supposed to be your whole identity. A plus one in life.“
I felt this was so much about lust with freedom in the beginning. He thought about himself. Never really thinking about Essie at all. He couldn’t even see how she would feel. I mean… he didn’t even ask basic questions About her. He just saw her looks. The hospital scene was an eye opener.
“Didn’t you get the five thousand from my dad to pay for the inconvenience of losing your daughter?” Freedom asks in an accusing tone. My nose stings at the talk of a dowry. Like I’m worth nothing but free labor or a bride price. That’s it. That’s all I amount to in this life. I blink back the tears.“
This broke my heart. Because knowing how old she was when this conversation happened. I felt for her. She was truly and utterly trapped. She was like a object and not a person and she felt it.
This book shifted for me I felt somewhere past the half way point. Essie let her guard down. And it allowed Freedom to enter. He showed Essie that he could be the person she could rely on. He build her up and and let her spread her wings. It was all a learning process for both of them.
This book reminded me A LOT of the t.v show Arrange on TLC. Christian and Maria in particular. They too were raised Gypsy. And the struggle poor Maria had in the beginning was hard to watch. Christian was nothing like Freedom. But towards the end of the show… he bent over backwards to fix what he did… how he treated her.
This series has really grabbed ahold of me. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I have a feeling I know who it’s going to be about. But we will see!!

Bohemian Patience was not at all what I was suspecting! I was so surprised by this contemporary romance. As my first Misty Walker read I am now determined to devour the others in this Traveler series! Packed with wit, steam, and romance, I couldn’t put this book down!
Essie is a feisty, young, intuitive, and caring Romani/gypsy girl living on a compound in Reno with her family. An arranged marriage is the last thing she wants but marrying Freedom gives her the room to become independent and learn exactly who she is and who she wants to be.
Freedom is new to the compound. He has spent his live moving from place to place, as the traditional gypsies do. When he sees Essie he knows he is looking at his future and he will do whatever he can to help her dreams come true while keeping her as his own.
All arranged marriages may not end in a HEA, but this one might have given this couple the Freedom and Patience they have been looking for all of their lives.
Wow! Epic! Love this book! Every book so far has been amazing in this series but these two characters are by far my favorite!
Freedom and Essie bring live to this story. Especially into a lifestyle that not many of us are familiar with or just kind of shake our heads if we may hear of this lifestyle.
Freedom is definitely a strong and passionate male figure and would do anything to make his marriage work.
I admire Essie and the spitfire personality that she had.
These two were an inspiration and extremely worth the wait to read
The Traveler series by Misty Walker is quickly becoming a favorite of mine! She draws us more deeply into her gypsy world in Bohemian Patience. I loved how fierce and sassy the heroine was and how the hero, Freedom, relentlessly pursued her. He knew their happily ever after was in the cards…he just had to convince her first! I think arranged marriage tropes are such a juicy storyline and Bohemian Patience did not disappoint! This book was such a magical treat that will have you smiling, tearing up, and fanning your face! Five FOREVER FREEDOM stars!
Holy WOW … this story was amazing but even better, I didn’t even see it coming. Also, this world (and I know I said this before) is amazing! This story is unique and so incredibly uplifting and inspiring. I honestly have never read anything even close to this and it makes me super happy because every time this author’s name comes up I know I am not only going to get a well written story, but it will also most assuredly be a unique story-line!
Freedom and Essie’s story was not only a story I enjoyed; it was a story of two people that I was actually rooting for as if they were my friends. I was invested. The style and voice of this author captured me, and her words painted a picture in my mind that I wanted to live in! All three of these books have been amazing! I just cannot say that enough!
Oh my gosh, this book, their story, it was breathtakingly beautiful. Once I start reading I couldn’t put it down. Every single book in this series has been amazing. I wholeheartedly recommend!! 5/5 stars for sure!!
This is the 3rd book in this series and is Freedom and Essie’s story. Freedom is a kind, thoughtful, hardworking, and loving man, while Essie is flamboyant, sassy, rebellious and independent. My heart broke for Essie being brought up telling her she had a dark soul and thank goodness her grandma in her corner as she kept her grounded. This story is full of wonderful secondary characters. This is a unique story which is an arranged marriage romance, and is filled with chemistry fun, and entertainment which leads to a humorous and amazing read. I highly recommend for all readers.
What a fabulous read! I loved this book. Freedom and Essie are a richly drawn pair and are both delightful and charming. I loved the Romani setting, a culture I know little about, and felt that Misty was able to balance the mystic aspects, with some of the issues that affect both their men and, particularly, the women, creating different challenges and restrictions.
Mami is a wonderful character! She adds to the layers of humour which run through the book. There is a a great balance of humour, wit, hotness , sweetness and charm. Irresistible!
I swear every book Misty writes gets better and better. I’ve loved each of the books in the Travelers series but there is something about Freedom that I loved before I even opened his book. Everyone needs Freedom, and him paired with Essie was absolute fire! This book was sweet and feisty and steamy and gut wrenching and I did not want it to end. This book is as beautiful inside as the cover outside.
Misty Walker continues her Travelers series with this beautiful, heart pounding magical story.
Freedom, rugged, hard working and sexy, meets his match in the arranged marriage to fellow Romani Essie. Essie is strong willed, an with darkness surrounding her closed heart. Her willowy gentle appearance is a front for this sage smudging beauty. Freedom is given one word of advice… Patience.
He uses this as his mantra as he takes Essie as his bride. Together they grow and learn and find unexpected joy in the simple things and unravel their fates together.
I love Misty’s colorful imagery and steamy scenes.
Bohemian Patience is book three in the Traveller series. I read lots so I always crave a unique storyline and this is what this author gave me.
Freedom and Essie are two brilliant likeable characters. I wanted these two to find their happiness. I was really rooting for these two. Their story is everything.
This is a brilliantly well written story that I inhaled quickly. I highly recommend this story.
I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher to review.
Being a gypsy means going into an arranged marriage. My siblings fought against it, but not me. Having a woman who was raised to be a wife, a mother, and warm body for me to sink into? The only thing she wants freedom. And now that she has it, will she choose me?
This is the story of Freedom and Essie. A story of a arranged marriage. One that he has never been opposed to and one that she does not want. She has never wanted to be in this situation yet finds herself there with. If your going to have to marry someone I would think that you would count yourself lucky to get a man like Freedom. He is a man’s man, while being thoughtful, really smart, and kind. Just because he is kind though doesn’t mean that you can walk all over him. He is also not afraid to lay down the law when he needs to. Essie is more on the rebellious side. Smart and clever and really independent. These are total opposites and you wouldn’t picture them together when you think of great couples. However they work. They have some smoking hot connection and the chemistry is off the charts. But with that passion comes the fire and these two have some really passionate arguments. I thought that this story was a unique one. I can’t say that I have read a gypsy book before, but I found myself loving this one and these two characters. I loved that this book put me through some emotions and at times I was laughing out loud or crying all in one sentence. You don not want to miss this book. There are so many character’s to fall for and want the story of which you can have because they have been in the previous books in this series. You don’t want to miss this book. It was so much fun to read and your going to love the way that Misty Walker rights her stories.
My first Misty Walker read! This introduction to her work was so good, I am now a fan.
I was never really interested in the gypsy life, so this was an eye-opener. The story is written in such a way that you can envision everything said without being puzzled. Now I want to learn more about them.
This is an enemies to lovers story, Essie hates Freedom. Freedom is attracted to Essie, in the beginning, more so because she did not pay him any attention. The arranged marriage cause them to learn each other.
Freedom never tried to change Essie, just showed the love and care. Essie just wanted to leave her parents and be free. I love that Freedom never once tried to kill Essie’s inddependent spirit. Essie also realized this man seemed to be good for her and opens up to him.
The supporting characters were also stellar, especially Mark and Mami! Really enjoyed reading this.
I’m so in love with these Gypsy’s! Essie and Freedom will steal your heart!
Walker’s writing is perfection! She makes it seem completely simple.. the reader will be able to picture everything.. from mixing herbs with Mami to the 100 degree heat in Reno and catching up with all your favorite characters.
This is absolutely a must read that will leave you smiling and cheering on these two!
This is the first book by the author and I can only say that I was blown away by her writing.
I have not read the previous two books and I intend to do just that to get to know the other characters.
But, this is definitely not a flaw in my reading experience of this book.
I loved the characters, I loved the chemistry that was created between them. The amazing connection that of course, only those who read will understand what I mean.
Two characters who know what they want in their life, two strong characters. And that’s what I like.
Give and take, you must stretch the boundaries because the path to hatred is very short. And here the characters knew how to give and take, let go and ask. The plot is amazing, I loved the sub-characters, I laughed, stormed, and got excited.
I like that the main characters are not stereotypical romantic characters and I love their journey. Definitely recommended
