It was supposed to be a simple job….Go to the Winston Isles, they said. Be a double for a billionaire, they said. Well nothing is ever simple.I was supposed to collect my cash and go home. Easy right? Wrong! When my carefully constructed plan goes awry, and my billionaire double goes missing, I have no choice but to hire a smart mouthed, tight assed bodyguard.Zia Barnes is the last thing I need or … is the last thing I need or want. Lord that woman has a mouth on her. She’s also determined, smart, and has no idea I’m an imposter.
Good thing I have no intention on falling for her, or else I’d be royally screwed.

GAH! I swear each Nana Malone book gets better and better! Everything about this story was perfect to me! The characters sizzle the pages and the story just sucks you in! The perfect read for the beach or the pool! FIVE STARS!!
A refreshing and interesting storyline.
I was very pleasantly surprised at how much this book captured my attention and kept it. Zia is a unique character and I am not going to lie I have a little of a girl crush on her! There is chemistry that leaps between Theo and Zia from the beginning. Their love story was a pure joy to watch unfold and I can’t wait to read the other books in this series.
Bodyguard to the Billionaire by Nana Malone is the first book in The Billionaire Duet. This story of a cousin to King sebastian and a Royal Knight is a small step away from the palace and into the penthouse of Billionaire Derrick Arlington.
All is not as it seems in the Arlington household. Meet Theo, a Derrick lookalike who has to BE Derrick for the next thirty days and is under a tight contract to not say a word about his true identity to anyone under any circumstances. This makes life so much more difficult when he has to hire a bodyguard on his King’s orders. A beautiful woman he already has had one encounter with, is desperate for more, is now his capable bodyguard. Shame she can only know him as Derrick…
Zia Barnes is a capable and competent member of the Royal Elite team and is itching for more field work. An itch she instantly regrets when she realizes her new charge is the beautiful grey eyed man from the night of the wedding. Can she keep him safe and keep her heart out of the equation?
Nana Malone is a must-read author for me. Her royal duets are addictive and intoxicating. I literally cannot get enough of the Winstone Isles and the royal family, Royal Elite and friends. Loved this. Ends on a cliffhanger, told in dual POV. Enjoy!
I was thrilled to be headed back to the Winston Isles with Nan Malone’s newest duet. Bodyguard to the Billionaire is book one and cannot be read as a standalone. Book two will pick up where this book left off.
I love Zia and was excited to be getting her story. She always seems so put together and it was fun watching her get a bit rattled as she started falling for the sexy billionaire, Derrick “Theo” Arlington, her newest client.
Of course, nothing is as it seems, and Derrick isn’t really who Zia and the rest of the world think he is. He’s actually Theo – a double to the billionaire being paid to be Derrick for a month. What seems like an acting job for a huge payoff soon turns into a deadly game for Theo. And, even worse, he starts falling for Zia and can’t let her know who he really is.
With the real billionaire missing, Theo’s mother being threatened and someone trying to kill him, time is running out to figure out how to play the game without losing everything he has and could ever want . . . including Zia.
While Zia is tough as nails, I loved seeing her vulnerable side in this book as well. And, Theo is awesome. I can’t wait to figure out just how he and Derrick are truly connected (I have my suspicions) and I’m dying to see if Zia can move past the secrets he’s had to keep from her or if it will be the end of any possible relationship they might have had regardless of how intense their chemistry and feelings for one another are.
Bodyguard to the Billionaire is filled with suspense and deceptions and oh so hot it will burn the pages up as you read. 5 stars!
This storyline is such an original story that I was immediately interested and pulled into it. Derrick is a rich playboy who asks Theo to step in for a while and be his look-alike. Theo needs the money so he does it, but then someone wants to harm him and he gets a bodyguard. Zia is assigned to Theo/Derrick. The characters were interesting and intriguing. As the story progresses so does Theo and Zia feeling, which added the element of will Theo tell Zia who he really is. Loved the story, the characters and the flow of everything. Enjoyed
I am loving the Royal Elite series of books by Nana. I am a huge fan and this one did not dissapoint.
While attending the wedding of the princess of the Winston Isles and her husband, who also helps protect the royal family, Zia (a Royal Elite bodyguard and also a King’s Knight) spotted a man who was being removed from the reception by someone trying to harm him. Zia, being the badass that she is, interjected herself pretending to be his girlfriend to get him out of danger. Little did she know that Theo was pretending to be Derrick Arlington, cousin to the king and billionaire. Derrick is a Theo lookalike and hired him to pretend to be him for 30 days.
This story is about Zia being asked to protect Derrick/Theo having to pretend to be his girlfriend. Zia hasn’t been with anyone for a year after her boyfriend cheated on her and Theo (aka Derrick) can’t afford to get involved with anyone while pretending to be someone else.
Will Zia and Theo get their HEA? Read the book to find out. It is a good one.
OMG!! Sooo good. These bodyguards are giving the Royals a run for their money. Even if you are new to this series, Zia’s character will draw you in. She’s a bit of an enigma, but that’s part of her appeal. Then we have Theo, who is impersonating the King’s cousin, so who is he really? All the intrigue and sexiness of the Winston Isles is found in this book and of course the cliff hanger leaves you on edge.
The banter between them is quick witted, sexy, and fun. As with most of Nana Malone’s books, filled with LOL moments.
Looking forward to the conclusion.
ARC received in exchange for honest review.
Men cannot be trusted. Zia has been burned so she does not open up and let herself trust easily. Her ex is a douche, but you would think working with Jax and Trace she would see not all men are like her ex.
Derrick Arlington is known to be a class Act (with a capital A). But he seems different. Why? What game is he playing?
Ms Malone has me cursing her out right now wanting the conclusion to this story. How dare she leave me hanging like she did. I’m not sure I can wait two months to find out what happens. Here’s hoping I can bribe her for an early copy.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
Derrick Arlington is one of the world’s most eligivle billioinaires. Voted Sexiest Man Alive-two years running. And I just so happen to look exactly like him. It’s neven come in handy until I get offered an actual job out of it. It was supposed to be so simple. Go to Winston Isles, stand in as a body double for a few weeks, go back to my life. But when our carefully constructed plans go awry and the billionaire goes missing, I have no choice but to take his place and hire a bodyguard. The best in the business: a smart-mouthed, tight-assed, lady bodyguard. Zia Barnes is the LAST thing I want, even if I need her. She’s determined, msart, and has no idea I’m a total imposter. Good thing I have no intention of falling for her, or I’d be royally screwed.
if you have read any of these books you know that they are going to be amazing. Bodyguard to the Billionaire is equally amazing. Derrick Arlington is the cousin of the King who just so happens to have a lookalike named Theo. These two get the bright idea to trade places for thirty days and Theo is trying to do his best to live a life that is not his own. Zia ia one of the best boyguards at the Royal Elite. She is a tiny little thing, but not someone that you want to mess with at all. However these two who traded places are up to something and that is the book you have to wait for to get the answers. But never fear Nana Malone never makes you wait a super long time for the next books in her duets and series.
We are back in good, ole Winston Isles with the King’s Knights. Zia used to be a part of the intelligence team in the Royal Guard but falling in love with the wrong guy can deter a career big time. Fortunately, Ariel was able to add her to the Royal Elite team. This book opens at Princess Jessa and Roone’s wedding reception. The Royal Elite squad is on double duty as guests and making sure everyone is safe. Nothing that they can’t handle. Zia sees a gorgeous guy who turns out to be Lord Derrick Arlington and King Tristan’s cousin. Derrick is being pulled out of the ballroom by some unseemly characters and Zia, being the superwoman that she is, saves him from his would be kidnappers. All seems fine except Derrick is being portrayed by his doppelganger, Theo. Derrick is paying Theo to play him for a month while he is off doing god knows what. Theo’s primary job is to be undetected for a month and make sure merger goes through in the company that Derrick has just recently became CEO after the ousting of his father. Easy, peasy, right?
Someone knows that Theo is not Derrick and keeps trying to kill him. In walks, Royal Elite and Zia posing as Derrick/Theo’s girlfriend and assistant at the King’s request. Zia and Theo already have a crazy hot connection so posing as a girlfriend won’t be hard except for the little matter of not sleeping with your client. Theo is having a hard time keeping his feelings about Zia and the company under wrap and starts becoming more and more involved with the Royal family and with Zia. Bad news is everyone loves Theo as Derrick. The real Derrick was not so much fun to be around. Theo is finding himself getting caught up in the lies as they become truer and truer as the days go by.
This book is very similar to the other books in this series. You will fall in love with the new members of Team Winston Isles. This book ends in a cliffhanger and readers will be on pins and needles waiting for the continuation of this installment of the series.
I absolutely loved this book. I couldn’t put it down. I couldn’t wait til the end of the book to see who was trying to kill Theo. I would love to be a bodyguard to a billionaire.
Theo was given a proposal he couldn’t refuse. He was to pose as Derrick Arlington who was a cousin to a king. They looked alike, so why not? No one would know, right? Someone is trying to kill Theo and he don’t know who or why. So someone knows who he really is. Then the real Derrick goes missing. Zia Barnes is put to work as Derricks bodyguard. There is an attraction between the two and neither want to act on it, or do they? Will Theo find out who is out to kill him? Will Theo finally tell Zia the truth about who he really is?
I love books by Nana Malone. Her stories have romance, intrigue and twists and turns I don’t see coming. I loved this book and highly recommend it. I can’t wait for the next one.
I have never read Nana Malone before so I went into this book without any expectations. And it ends with a cliffhanger…*sigh* That’s the only reason why I gave it a four stars, because I need to wait 2 months for the next and final book.
Derrick is not just a Royal, but a billionaire who needs protection and Zia is the perfect knight for the job. The chemistry between Derrick and Zia is off the charts. As Derrick and Zia get closer both find themselves in the position of protecting their hearts as well as their lives. Only Derrick isn’t who he really seems. They have a very fun, flirty chemistry and attraction, and the right amount of heat & passion.
The book does end on a stunning cliffhanger that has me eagerly anticipating the conclusion. The story is infused with action, drama, intrigue and lots of heat between Zia and Derrick. I can’t wait to find out the continuation!
He’s just a guy. Who just so happens to look like a wealthy one. Theo is playing Derrick in this modern prince and the pauper.
Don’t mess up the deal.
Just be low key and no drama.
For thirty days. And thirty nights.
Zia Barnes is fierce, smart, and his bodyguard.
Yep. He’s got a jones for Zia.
WOW I am so into this book! At first I thought it was the typical billionaire love story, but I was so wrong and I’m so happy for it! Derrick approaches Theo with an offer that he can’t resist – pretend to be him for a month and he will make enough money to launch his career and take care of his mother. A no brainer, Theo takes the offer after coercing from his best friend, but once he arrives nothing goes as planned. What is supposed to be a low-key month turns into a nightmare when someone attempts to kidnap Theo and knows his actual identity! In comes Zia, who saves him once and then becomes his personal bodyguard, which we all know always turns into something more. But as the mystery of where Derrick really is becomes known, Zia’s world is turned upside down on who is who and who she can believe. This is a genius book and storyline and I couldn’t put it down from start to finish. And the cliffhanger?! I almost threw it across the room because I HAD to know the answers. Can’t wait for the next book to do that!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
First let me say that I love Nana Malone’s books. This was a really fun one. We meet Theo, who happens to look like the King of Winston Isle’s cousin, Derek. It turns out that Derek wants Theo to take his place for a month and he’s going to pay Theo a lot of money to do it. This money is going to help him with his mom. All he has to do is avoid being seen by the King and his friends.
Unfortunately, this go awry immediately and Theo is trying to reach Derek, who also seems to have disappeared. The only way to stay safe is to get a bodyguard. This is where Zia comes in. She’s a great bodyguard and a part of the Kings Knights. Sparks are flying but I’m not who she thinks I am.
People are after Derek, but they use Theo’s name. How do they know who Theo is? Where’s Derek and why isn’t he answering Theo’s calls? How is Derek/Theo going to stay away from Zia when he wants her?
In typical, Ms. Malone fashion, she ends this book with a bang, leaving the reader wanting more. I can’t wait for Book 2.
Bodyguard to the Billionaire is Zia and Theo’s story…but Zia thinks it is her and Derrick’s story. The story starts out explaining how Theo is going to take Derrick’s place for a few weeks in his life..basically having Theo be royal and fulfilling all of Derrick’s obligations. Theo as Derrick meets Zia during a royal wedding when he finds himself in a sticky situation. Zia tries to help and makes things worse, pulling Theo deeper into the life of the royals. The development of their relationship and how wonderful Theo is is a great read. You can help but root for Theo and want him to continue to be Derrick. The ending is a great cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see what happens. There are a lot of twists and turns and I hope Zia and Theo can come out of this on top.
When I hear that Nana Malone has a book coming out I can’t wait to read it…have yet to be disappointed. She has a way of weaving humor, danger, intrigue, romance (with serious chemistry), and flawed characters into compelling stories that leave me not wanting to put the book down, and then being disappointed that I have to wait for the next. As another reviewer wrote, the Billionaire Duet can be read alone, but I highly recommend reading it after the other stories with the cast and crew of the Winston Isles. Zia is a badass who is nursing her own wounds after the betrayal of her former boyfriend and superior in the Royal Guard. Now she’s got her second chance as one of the Royals’ Knights… and her assignment – guard the sexy billionaire, Derrick, cousin of the King, after a failed kidnapping (one thwarted by her). There is plenty of animosity between “Derrick” – really doppelganger, Theo, who was hired by Derrick to be his stand-in for a month – and sparks fly. Theo is nursing his own wounds after a former company stole the patent of his best friend, and is hoping this is his chance to turn things around. The job proves to be SO much more than he bargained for, and makes him question everything. Cliffhanger at the end of this book…can’t wait to find out how it turns out for Zia, Theo and Derrick.
4.75 stars
This is the first book in the Billionaire Duet series that focuses on Zia and Derrick. Once again there are shenanigans afoot that surround a business deal with Derrick Arlington and the company that he now runs. Knowing that something is amiss, Derrick finds Theo; a man who could be his body double to assist him. For the next thirty days, all Theo has to do is impersonate the real Derrick. It should be easy, right? Who would not want to be in a billionaire’s shoes for a time? As is customary for a person of wealth, one needs a bodyguard and that is where Zia comes in. She is one of Ariel’s Knights and is a sure-footed, smart, sexy, well-rounded woman who can kick bu**. The chemistry between Theo and Zia is strong. However, she has been burned in the past and he does not have the most sterling reputation when it comes to the ladies. He is keeping secrets that could put his life in jeopardy and take others with him. This is one absorbing storyline filled with mystery, romance and intrigue that will leave you guessing….It ends in a cliffhanger that has come to be expected from this author which leaves readers on the edge of their seats for the next book. This book can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the other books in this world first.
I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book and all opinions are my own.
I was completely hooked from the very beginning of this story until the last page. These two had me glued to the screen and I loved them so much. He was hired as a body double to the billionaire Derrick and now has step into the role as Derrick went missing and is trying to find out what happened. Zia gets hired and is definitely up to the job. Great story with great characters!
Rating: 4.5 Stars
If you have not done so already, you may want to check out some of the other books that connect to the Royal Elite first. There are characters that appear here that have a connection with that group. You could read this as a standalone but when our author creates such great characters why not get their full effect by reading several of her other series that lead up to this point.
Theo Coleman is having second thoughts. Zia Barnes is trying to get over a past hurt. I loved the push and pull between the main characters. The author gave several hmm moments that pulled me in and didn’t let go until I got that aha moment. I’m constantly impressed with authors that can surprise me and Ms. Malone doesn’t disappoint. I’ve enjoyed the series that interconnect to the next one coming out. It will be interesting to see how book two is going to handle the mystery that left me saying argh!
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
