Reclusive rock star. Notorious bad boy. Heir to a legacy. They say a single moment can change the course of your life. Mine wasn’t a moment, but a man. We were wrong for each other in every way, yet it didn’t stop me from wanting him. The broody, arrogant rock star on the verge of self-destruction. His touch was electric, his wounded gaze burning me from the inside out. He was perfectly … star on the verge of self-destruction. His touch was electric, his wounded gaze burning me from the inside out.
He was perfectly imperfect.
Irresistibly tortured.
Utterly broken. Almost as broken as me.
Our jagged edges aligned so seamlessly even I believed we might have healed each other.
I couldn’t have been more wrong.
*This is book one in the STAND ALONE Savages in Ruin rock star romance series more
Always love a rock star read and this one is no exception, engaging characters and a great storyline
This was one emotional rollercoaster of a book
I’ve read just about all of Jane’s book and each one has touched me in their own special, but this book, it absolutely had me feeling all the emotions Wyatt and Willow went through. Oh my lord what a book. This book took me on so many twists and turns just when I thought I had figured out what happened Jane throws in a curve you don’t see coming. Argh the emotions from this book. I definitely won’t be forgetting this book anytime soon it will be staying with me.
This is definitely a must read.
This is just my opinion and my review
An awesome story that draws you in from the first, and takes you on a twist and turn ride until it finally turns you for a complete loop. This was one story that I completely and tremendously enjoyed the ride. I was left speechless at the end of the story. I sat in wonder as tears rolled down my cheeks into my coffee this am as I finished the story. My whole being was in shock, and absolute wonder of how the author writes such spectacular stories that leave you feeling in wonder and love.
This is nothing like the other books I have read from this author and trust me that isn’t a bad thing. This time we get her darkness. Yet that too isn’t a bad thing. The intricate story telling of suicide attempts and mental illness, love and pain, reality and . . . While this may have been a difficult project for this author she doesn’t pull any punches she just blows you out of the water. Her characters are complicated, their story one that can’t be rushed. Wyatt is a tortured soul. The drinking and drugs were slowly destroying him and the band. Willow was on an entirely different level with her mental illness. This story is one that will touch and resonate deep down and then your life will flip out when you see what’s done. I have come to expect the unexpected from this author but I didn’t expect what she did here. This is well done with the flash backs and life stories filtered throughout the story we are offered insight into who these two are. I hope we get more of their story as the series progresses.
This book left me with mixed emotions. Through most of the book, I wanted to strangle the characters for not “kissing already”! Knowing what Wyatt is/has done for Willow melts my heart but had my mind fumbling around trying to figure out just what was going on. Then the story through me for another loop with an unexpected guest. It was what the characters did next that caused me to fall ever so slightly in love with them. The ending left me with tears. A must read!
I finished reading this book last night in awe! I really loved Willow and the screwed up Wyatt Blue. I must say, today I’m still in wow of this book hangover. The build up was paced so good! The shock of the story and of the future events seriously made me cry. I’m still falling in love with these characters even after the book has ended.
Blue is book one in the Savages in Ruin series and oh it will Ruin you alright, but you are left speechless at the end! Wow that just blew my mind and so did not expect that! Savages in Ruin is a rock band, but this is so much more than a band. This is a story of how our body handles keeping us alive when tragedies occur till it is our time to enter the next journey of phase in our life. We all experience loss of a love or a life, but no two people handle this the same way when it comes to healing. It just goes to show us that in the end the goal is the same, whether you choose to see it now or later. Two characters who are both broken. Blue AKA Wyatt and Willow will take you on a ride. This isn’t your typical tour bus ride and will leave your mouth hanging open.
Blue has a jagged edge to him, he’s living the rock life on the drinking part that’s for sure and has a tortured soul. Willow is beauty and “his little lamb”, but also has her own tortured soul. Events play an important part of people’s life (even those that may seem small), it may not happen right away, but down the road those pieces may turn that light bulb on with a holy crap that’s why that happened etc. You will feel the emotions between Wyatt and Willow. You get the sad, the happy moments and even those moments that you see the connection they share in so many ways.
This book hooks you from the beginning, has you thinking did you skip some pages (you will see why), but then delivers the punch that will leave us feeling like we are black and Blue from that wild ride we took. This ride is so worth it and will leave you breathless! I’m excited to see where this story is headed maybe Jett Blue will land on Frank Lane. One could only hope!
How I loved this one, let me counts the ways that Jane Anthony had me locked down from start to finish with this surreal and amazing work of art disguised as a book. I couldn’t stop reading it. She has obviously put her blood, sweat and tears into this unforgettable and creatively written masterpiece that tells the story of a broken man, Wyatt Blue, who drowns his sorrow in alcohol and finds life not worth living anymore. The past has taken away so much of the life he knew and the depths of despair he feels is irreparable. He’s a reclusive rockstar, from the band Savages in Ruin, with no hope left in his body or mind until one night, while driving alone on a dark stretch of road, he comes across an ethereal angel, Willow, standing on a bridge in the middle of nowhere.
She can’t remember why she’s there or what’s happened to her so he decides to take her home and this is the beginning of the one of the best stories I’ve read this year. Blue comes at Willow with plenty of sarcasm, wit and even though the daze, he’s one hot, sexy man who is falling deeper into a building love story that feels meant to be, like fate brought these two together for them to heal each other.
Wow, by now you should be running to buy this book so you can find out for yourself what all the rave reviews are about.
There’s not much one can or should say about all the twisty, WTH details because you really just need to get comfortable and settle in for however long it takes to read this in one sitting…I don’t know how you couldn’t LOVE every word. Perfection.
There is a bonus epilogue that continues where this one ends. Join Jane’s newsletter like I did to get it and find a few more reasons to love Willow and Blue.
I love a good rock star story.
Once again, Jane’s creative writing captivated me. She created another story that transported me into the rock star world and I loved the ride.
The story of Willow and Blue isn’t your typical boy meets girl and everything is hunky-dory. There is love and pain. Lust and refusal. Strength and weakness.
“You really should be more careful around me, Willow.”
“Why is that?”
“’Cause I’m the big bad wolf, little lamb. And I’m hungry.”
Blue by Jane Anthony is a quick read that I immensely enjoyed. This dual POV second chance, rockstar romance was twisted and heartbreaking yet beautiful and entertaining. Blue drew me in immediately and was set to the perfect pace to not only grab my attention but kept me deeply captivated right up until the very last word of the story. I wanted more of Wyatt and Willow because I loved their characters. Their chemistry was sexy and delicious. The storyline sent me reeling at one point and I have to hand it to the author, she totally threw me at one point. I can’t read more of Jane Anthony’s words!
Quotes:
It wasn’t all that long ago I was on top of the world looking down. A king on a throne, my guitar a mighty staff. I had life by the balls but left it all scattering like shards of glass on that lonely stretch of Canadian highway.
—
This can’t be real. This strange girl pops out of nowhere, has no memory of where she came from, but can read my feelings like a novel. It’s not possible.
—
Inside her sad stare is something tragic. She’s broken, like me.
—
My jagged pieces only serve to tear her to shreds the deeper she gets.
—
I think I could fall in love with you if I weren’t so damaged…
Wow! Heartbreaking and raw, this story will keep you guessing as you read it. The reveal is emotionally heart wrenching and explains everything. This story might surprise you but when you understand the beautiful journey the author took you on, you realize you have read an amazing book.
Blue absolutely drew me in, crushed me, gave me so many feelings and spat me out the other side feeling bewildered, amazed and fulfilled.
I have not read any books by Jane Anthony before and this book blew me away with its brilliant plot and depth of character. Wyatt and Willow were so beautifully written you could no help but empathize with their pain and journey. I look forward to reading her other novels.
Blue was a beautiful read that I would highly recommend. Brilliant, original, tearjerking, soulrending – this novel is almost to amazing for words.
Okay so, I pretty much went into this book blind – by my own choice. And, honestly, I’m glad I did. Jane brought to life, two troubled characters and once again, made us fall in love with them. I felt every emotion that these two went through. Heck, at one point I seriously thought I would have to put the book down and walk away for a little bit because the emotions hit so close to home. THAT’s how I know it’s a good story. When it hits me so deep down in my soul that it wrecks me. And BLUE did. But it also brightened my world and put me back together again.
Hands down this is one of my favorite reads so far this year, and perhaps one of Jane’s best books to date.

Blue by Jane Anthony is raw, emotional and wonderfully written. The story is haunting and flowed effortlessly. It also hits on so many mental health issues.
Wyatt Blue and Willow are two beautifully broken, lost souls. Yet have such a connection it transcends time. Their stories tore at my heart. Jane Anthony is a master at creating these broken, lost characters that you can’t help but love. I LOVED everything about this book!!!
I didn’t see this book coming. I mean, I saw it but there is so much more to this book than meets the blurb! I will give nothing away just know that the depth of this book is deep and dark and beautiful! Blue is the damaged rock god and Willow is beautifully broken. Together they are a kaleidoscope of feelings, memories and so much love! Don’t read the spoilers for this book, it’s best to experience this book with no foreknowledge of what will happen. You will not regret it!
5 STARS
Blue is the first novel that I’ve had the pleasure of reading from Jane Anthony. I felt that the book was written like a piece of music. With the main characters, Wyatt Blue and Willow as the harmony and melody where they come together to make a hauntingly beautiful song. Their song will stay with you long after it’s done!
Wyatt and Willow’s journey is so emotional and tortured, with their pain so openly raw. Individually they are broken but together they strengthen and heal one another, and despite this they somehow complete the parts that are missing in themselves and make them whole.
“You told me once that two souls don’t find each other by simple accident. That we were meant to meet. I believe that now. Our life is a blanket, knotted together, piece by piece, your crazy and my crazy laid out in intricate patterns that scatter over it like new snow.”
This story is an EPIC read, truly mind blowing! There are twists in this book that are so unexpected. I guarantee you will enjoy every moment! I will leave you with one last quote that I absolutely loved.
“Love is bigger than anything we’ve got. It’s stronger than any ailment, more infections than any disease. When it’s real, it can get you through anything. And that, my friend, is what makes life worth living.”
Blue is the first book in the Savages in Ruin series and can be read as a standalone. Thank you to the author and Enticing Journey Book Promotions for kindly providing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Blue (Savages in Ruin, Book 1) by Jane Anthony will join the ranks of BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
Blue (Wyatt) and Willow’s story was such a freakin’ roller coaster of emotions – from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows. I admit to being slightly confused in parts, but by the time the ending came around, most of my questions had been answered. I would normally do a longer review, talk about the writing, the characters, etc. but since I absolutely refuse to spoil or ruin any tiny part of Blue, I’ll just say that Blue is a step outside the usual rockstar romance. It’s deeper, it’s far more twisty-ish, and it’s intriguing and heartbreaking all at the same time. It’s a story that’s gonna stick with me for a long time, of that I am very certain.
I received for an honest review from Booksprout
This book hooked me from the get go I just couldn’t put it down I fell in love with these characters and omg what a story just a perfect read. I just loved it well written fully developed characters

Wow…just wow. This is the first book I’ve read by Jane Anthony, but she’s scored a fan for life. Wyatt Blue, tortured rock star, haunted by the ghosts of his past. Willow, his little lamb, his muse, dealing with her own issues.
Their attraction is magnetic and Anthony weaves a story that will have you turning pages to get to the end, only the end is not what you may think…
Make sure you set aside a few hours to read this, because you won’t be able to put Blue down.
