Exiled by his pack as a teen, Omega wolf Simon Moorehead learns to bury his gentle nature in the interest of survival. When a hulking, rough-faced Alpha catches Simon on pack territory, he tries to escape what he’s sure will be imminent death. But instead of killing him, the Alpha takes Simon home.
A man of action, Mitch Grant uproots his life to support his brother in leading the Blue Mountain … Blue Mountain pack. Mitch lives on the periphery, quietly protecting everyone, but always alone. A mate is a dream come true for Mitch, and he won’t let little things like Simon’s rejections, attacks, and insults get in their way. With patience, seduction, and genuine care, Mitch will ride out the storm while Simon slays his own ghosts and Mitch’s loneliness.

I LOVED reading this book–but I stayed up way too late, because despite telling myself repeatedly, “Just one more chapter,” I couldn’t put the book down! I had to know what would happen next.
The realism in this book was totally engaging. I was captured by Mitch’s gentle giant, and astounded by Simon’s inner strength, which he didn’t believe in, but which kept him alive during his time living out of a pack. I loved both of these characters, and almost wept with happiness that they both found in each other, a harbor for their hearts and souls.

Simon has lived a hard life on the run for the last several years. Enduring horrors and hardships, leading up to burying his mother really spoke of his fortitude. The man has walls up a mile thick. Mitch made some real bonehead moves after finding Simon. I admired Mitch’s determination to build trust and win over Simon.
Highly recommended author and series
Audiobook: great job by the narrator
What I Think: Prolific works have been a lifesaver for a bookict (yes. Book addict) on a non-existent budget and I want to thank them so damn much! I got introduced to a wider realm of lgbtq+ romance that I never knew existed through them years ago. Next to my book bestie, they are quite responsible for whisking away my innocence. And I thank you so much! Now, unlike a lot of Mme. C’s other books, this started out quite awry. Simon has been through the grinder and more. No better way to put it. The man has been flogged by the winds of fate and chance. I didn’t even need to find out his backstory before knowing that he was traumatized and in serious need of some good loving. what I wasn’t sure of was if Mitch would be the one to deliver it. And that was where I was so damn wrong. Mitch is all Alpha in every way that counts and it’s a testament to his love for his family that he is not currently the alpha of his pack. Scary enough to chew glass and spit nails, he’s the type to not faff about or use fancy words. Aand this was where we bonded. Watching Mitch on seduction row with a mate that not only needed to be claimed but needed his protection, strength, and fierceness, is a thing of beauty. As Simon begins to open up about his past and Mitch tries not to turn murderous, I turned murderous on their behalf. It’s such a shame that Simon doesn’t see strength when he looks at himself because of what the world around him has made him believe. But there is so much strength inside of that otherwise fragile body that I doff my heart to him. when he starts to bloom though, he became truly magnificent. That the universe sent him Mitch right at a moment of loss so intense that he might otherwise not have survived, is the miracle we wish for all our loved ones. I couldn’t help the prickling when Simon finally went into Mitch’s arms of his own accord. It was not only a celebration of home but a testament to Simon’s willingness to hope and trust again in a world that had given him no reason to do so. Ah, the feeels! It’s not often that romance focuses on the wooing because there’s usually a lot that happens and then along the way, love happens as well. But Mitch had me taking notes. Serious notes. Because this is how you handle the person you want to keep for the rest of your life!
Verdict? A comfort keeper that is the perfect prayer of a miracle delivered in the nick of time!
