i loved this book series. i could not put the book down and would find myself laughing so hard because it was hysterical. the vampire story was the funiest and i loved it.
Good, fun, easy reading take on the Paranormal mystery genre. If you like the Dresden files, this’ll work for you. Where Harry Dresden is immersed in the “real” paranormal, Tempest Michaels doesn’t believe in it and is hired to solve cases. He finds the logical “real” solutions. Only downside is the chronic, juvenile penile horn-dogging references to sexy parts of the body. They are rampant and while funny, become tiresome. Fortunately, the female characters are strong enough to hold up to the barrage of come ons. Good premises and enjoyable overall.
Enjoyable, light reading. Different books are told from different character perspectives. Not deep and meaningful. Perhaps too much prurient talk for some readers.
Great read with enough action to keep me interested throughout!
You will thoroughly enjoy these entertaining and exciting books. The stories are original, the characters are captivating, and the banter witty, humorous, amusing – well, you get the idea. Steve Higgs is a superb and skillful storyteller. You can never go wrong with a Steve Higgs book. And this is a Whopper of a Deal.
Very Highly Recommended.
I love this series… keep them coming! I’m so glad I jumped on the chance to read this series. It’s fast moving, page turning, and the characters are great! SOme are told from Tempest, some from Amanda. I think I like when Tempest tells the story better, but they’re both good!
I enjoyed this series, and you certainly get your money’s worth if you buy the collection. Word of warning: the books are British, with plenty of vocabulary you may not recognize. Also, there is a plethora of typos.
Greatly enjoyed characters and plots of first ten books.( Could have lived without “Mr. Wiggely”, and was glad to see him appear less frequently as series continues.)
This is such a sweet series. I read a lot of “paranormal fiction” and this has a very different slant. The main character isn’t superhero strong or magical or anything and what happens to him is offbeat and funny. The characters around him are wonderful.
Fun characters to follow through the series.
Very entertaining. I had a hard time putting it down. The characters are crazy, entertaining, delightful and well developed. So worth the time to read it.
I found the authors attention to everyday detail very fun and amusing somehow. Good characters, light funny story lines
Higgs is one of those writers who has good ideas, and doesn’t do to badly bringing them to the page; but the writing is terrible, We managed to finish the first book, but not tempted to struggle through any more. I suggest that Higgs find himself a good copyeditor.
I enjoyed the characters
Take some favorite parts of Hot Fuzz, add some classic Scooby Doo and some memorable characters, and you have this very enjoyable series.
READ ALL 10 BOOKSS REALLY ENJOYED THE SERIES
Found some of the character descriptions offensive.
