Playboy Ciaran Lanigan was the party. Executive Bliss Heywood was the library. When they meet, sparks fly and so begins an uncontrollable attraction that neither is strong enough to escape, regardless that it’s fraught with lies, secrets and family complexities.
But ‘party boy’ Ciaran isn’t everything he appears. Lurking beneath the surface of his charming grin is a man haunted by fears. Are … fears. Are they real or imagined? As he slowly reveals his past, Bliss becomes less and less sure if the man she’s involved with is unstable or truly in danger. Will she learn the truth in time to save him?
Set in the fictional town of Peregrine, Idaho, Blue Moon, the second book in the Blue Mountain Collection features the youngest Lanigan brother, Ciaran. It is both a love story and mystery, with Tess Thompson’s quirky and complex but lovable characters.

I put off reading the book because of the title and found that I loved the book. It was wonderful and exactly what I needed while sitting with my husband as he underwent treatments in the hospital! Thank you!
Second in the series of the Blue Mountain series and can be read as a stand alone, but I can promise you that you want to read the first one, too, as they are both awesome! On to the recently published and third in this great series that I love so much!! Great characters to fall in love with!
This second book, Blue Moon brings us back to Peregrine. This story is about Bliss and Ciaran, siblings of the main couple from Blue Mountain. We met these two briefly in the first book, but getting to know them better in this book was a treat. These two strong willed individuals are a perfect match, they just don’t realize it. This story also has a great mystery and I could not put this book down until the mystery was solved.
Magical love story!
Oh, after reading Blythe and Kevan’s story, I knew I needed Ciaran and Bliss in my life! This story is so captivating, so filled with emotional depth, reading it was an event that left me with a huge book hangover!
Ciaran and Bliss have a legendary love, and the path to their HEA was filled with twists and turns and amazingly supportive friends. Moonstone and Sam added so much to the heart of this story! Peregrine, Idaho is one fictional world that I would love to escape to for real.
Bliss has always had her life figured out. She was amazing at her job, and nothing would get in her way. When she finds herself without a job, a concussion, and no clue what to do, she goes home to her family.
She never planned to fall for the playboy with a past. Neither of them were looking for, or wanted, to find love. It happened slowly, then all at once. Bliss and Ceran are a story for those who think they dont need love in their life. Oh, how wrong they were…..
The second book in the author’s Blue Mountain series is just as good as the first one. This time out, we get to follow Bliss, the sister of Blythe (heroine of the first book). A real go-getter married to her work, Bliss suffers a series of unfortunate events and follows her sister’s footsteps to Idaho. Once again, Ms. Thompson bravely explores concepts that are beyond the usual scope of a small-town romance novel. I love the secondary characters that we have gotten to know, especially Moonstone. I did not think that the mystery in this book was as good as the one in the first, and I spotted the answer early on. But I still very much enjoyed the story and love Peregrine as much as the characters do!
Ms. Thompson continues to surprise me. The Blue Mountain series eases readers into a world of heartbreaking secrets and heartwarming romance. Blue Moon is the second installment is a chilling tale of mistrust, intrigue and romance. Ciaran wears his pain on the inside. His heartache feeds his fears and damages his soul until an avenging angel breaks through the abyss and helps him through the storm. A maze has nothing on the revelations that emerge from the hearts of these broken people.
It was o.k. Didn’t have enough action or dialogue to hook you in.
I always love Tess’s books but this one was a little disappointing at times. Of course the story line was to perfect, two troubled middle age people with commitment issues finding out that they can’t live without each other. Love the twist that Tess always throws in there to keep you interested. I didn’t mind the sex scenes, the author doesn’t go into all the mushy details like some do, which leaves room for imagination. My only turn off was that there were lots of the main character, Bliss’, thoughts… to the point I skipped over some just to get to the good stuff. Overall, good book with good storyline!
A bit of a cross between a love story and a mystery, I found this book hard to put down. The characters are realistic, along with being romantic and sometimes a bit steamy. The setting is beautiful, what more could anyone ask for? This is the second book in the Blue Mountain series, however it could be read as a stand alone.
I discovered the author a few months ago and have read several of her books so far already. None of them have let me down yet and I can’t foresee her ever doing that. Congratulations to the author on another amazing book! Also thank you Tess for allowing me to read this one.
A must read. Loved this book!
I love it when I pick up a Tess Thompson novel to read! I KNOW I’m in for an amazing read and one I can become involved in with the wonderful characters. Characters I become invested in and feel a part of their lives. Blue Moon is no exception to Ms. Thompson’s writing skills and ability to create a tale that you won’t want to put down until the very last word! Even then, you want to have more!
Blue Moon is the second book of the Blue Mountain series. It takes up the lives of Ciaran Lanigan and Bliss Haywood and their sparks flying attraction to each other. Each one has relationship issues that they are very reluctant to let go of and are afraid of commitment and what that might mean. They make an agreement that they’ll just “have fun” and that will be the end of it. But where does that go and what happens when the unexpected happens? I kept turning the pages! I HAD to! Their story was one that I wanted so much for the two to be each other’s reason! Tess Thompson puts the reader into the lives of her characters in such a deep and involved way that you can’t help but become a part of the family.
There are other characters in this story who were a delightful thread to the story. I love each ones personality and the way they become living beings in my mind.
To me this story is about letting go and taking the risk to love. These are some of the passages that touched me very much.
“Why can’t we let go of these family wounds? I suspect the nature of betrayal, cruelty, or abandonment from those with whom we share the same blood, no matter how we try to forget, feels too big to forgive, because we love them the most. But what if we did let go of injustices, accusations, the ways in which we failed one another? What if we said, I forgive, I let go, I will move on without ever thinking of it again?”
“Loving someone is risking that they could leave you at any moment.”
“Letting go felt better than all that anger and drive, and it opened up enough space to let love inside.”
The gift that Ms. Thompson has of creating passages like these is a treasure. I’m so grateful that I can tap into the stories she’s so amazing at sharing.
Blue Moon is one of those stories that brought out feelings and emotions that I couldn’t keep inside even if I tried.
Thank you, Tess Thompson, for the wonderful read!
I am on to the next in the series….Blue Ink and I’m very excited knowing it’s going take me on more of the Blue Mountain journey!
A great romantic story with a twist of mystery. Left you wanting more. I kind of think there might have been a story before this book and I’m going to go back and find it. Someone needs to edit the epilogue because it says Blythe and Ciaran’s wedding and it should say Kevan
I hope these reviews are resd and there’s someone notes this error.
In book 2 of the Blue Mountain series, we learn more about Bliss, younger sister of Blythe Heywood from Blue Midnight. Just as Blythe had a life-changing event in Blue Midnight, so does Bliss. She travels to Idaho seeking refuge with her sister. She interacts with the Lanigan siblings since Kevan is now Blythe’s husband. This book focuses on Bliss and Ciaran (rhymes with beer on). As in the first book, the characters are realistic but there are situations and timing in the book that defied my logic and reasoning. I recommend that the books be read in order since each book told the reader more about Bliss, Ciaran, Ciaran, and Kevan. More of both the brothers’ past and the sisters’ past is revealed. Having read the first book, the second one went a little faster for me. The third book is set for a late January release. If you start now, you will be ready to start book 3 when it is released.
Blythe’s life as she knows it gets turned upside down when he ask for a divorce. Her sister sends her in a new direction. Blythe’s heartache which you feel as your own turns another direction. It turns out that the divorce is the best thing that could of ever happed to her! Thanks
An excellent story with great characters. This story pulled me in.. it was so hard to put it down (hated when I had too). It has the love, hurt, and mystery/suspense in this story. That and it being well written makes it a wonderful story!
I finished the first book in the series, Blue Midnight, and immediately picked up this one. Now, I am patiently waiting for book 3, Blue Ink. I love the characters that Tess has introduced us to. This installment is about Bliss (Blythe’s sister for those who read book 1). She is a headstrong, independent, perpetually single woman that is super involved in her work. When she is unexpectedly fired she realizes that she needs to change some things about her life including making friends. She heads out to see her sister and future brother in law with some newly made friends in tow. What she discovers is that when you open yourself up you find things that you never knew you were missing. She falls in love hard despite saying that she doesn’t want to. I will let you read the rest yourself… You get the idea. Grab the book, a blanket and a cup of coffee and sink into a great story. I cannot wait for book 3. <3
Couldn’t put it down until I finished, and then was sad that I couldn’t read more
Great story
A good read and with interesting characters. For me I enjoyed the first few chapters the most and then it turned in a different direction complete with an attempted murder.
