A recent divorcee finally faces the consequences of having denied her destiny, following her heart to her blissful second chance in this mature standalone love story by USA Today bestselling author Tess Thompson. When Blythe Heywood left Finn Lanigan behind thirteen years ago, she was choosing a life of safety and security over true love. Little did she know how unfulfilled she’d be by the things … the things she’d yearned for since she was a child.
Now, in the wake of her husband’s betrayal, Blythe will begin again — this time in the foothills of Blue Mountain, where her memories of the only man who ever weakened her knees will lead her — and finally take to heart that sometimes the road not taken is actually the path that is meant to be.
The first book in the Blue Mountain Series will have readers cheering for a set of lovable, complex characters as they explore the painful truths involved in accepting second chances and learning to love after loss.

Great realistic characters, suspenseful story, happy ending, loved it!
Great book, this kind of story could actually happen in real life. Well written.
It was a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours–not really remarkable, not remarkably plotted, no outstanding characters but not poorly written.
Great book. Couldn’t put it down.
I enjoyed it.
I enjoy reading books about the West. I always learn something new, this time about peregrine falcons. The story was both sad and sweet as we went from divorce to the beginnings of new love. There was a small mystery woven in plus a touch of magical realism. You’ll enjoy this book for a quick, satisfying read.
This book gives women hope that they can find love again after a divorce. Also that women are resilient and can overcome most obstacles with time and perseverance.
This story had me hooked from the first chapter. Fate brought her full circle. This book tells the story of love, second chance and mystery. She went looking for one long lost love. She found herself along with a new love in her live. She helped heal the family of her lost long love. I am looking forward to the next book .
I just simply enjoyed it.
I loved the title. Fit well with the story.
A very well written mystery /love story. Many good examples of patience and communication skillls.
I just loved this storyline and held my interest from beginning to end.
The characters and unexpected storyline kept me interested until the end.
Great read. Relatable life situations with an underlying love story and a hint of mystery. Well written and well developed ideas. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
It was not what I thought it would be but in a good way. I thought that the characters were well developed and interesting enough to want to know more.
I’m tired of books written at a fifth grade level with a predictable plot. Too many filler words about what the dog ate, why it wagged its tail, and let’s all stop and pet the dog. Characters were undeveloped and one dimensional.
Good story, finished it without skipping or skimming
Some parts are a little strange, such as the bird always being around where the main character is, and the old man she sees from time to time. But it is a fast-moving, easy read perhaps for a rainy afternoon. A little mystery, a little romance.
Well written!
Good story, I had to buy the next book because I enjoyed the characters. But, not a clif hanger
