A recent divorcee finally faces the consequences of having denied her destiny, following her heart to her blissful second chance in this mature standalone love story by USA Today bestselling author Tess Thompson. When Blythe Heywood left Finn Lanigan behind thirteen years ago, she was choosing a life of safety and security over true love. Little did she know how unfulfilled she’d be by the things … the things she’d yearned for since she was a child.
Now, in the wake of her husband’s betrayal, Blythe will begin again — this time in the foothills of Blue Mountain, where her memories of the only man who ever weakened her knees will lead her — and finally take to heart that sometimes the road not taken is actually the path that is meant to be.
The first book in the Blue Mountain Series will have readers cheering for a set of lovable, complex characters as they explore the painful truths involved in accepting second chances and learning to love after loss.

Totally hooked on this series! I loved Blythe’s character and watching her find herself after what seemed like to her her life was over being over 40 and divorced. What truly drew me in was the mystery and suspense once she began her journey and the story coming to a surprise ending! Can’t wait to read the next book! Well written book!
A beautiful story well told… more like a true story than fiction…
The hallmark of a good story is getting near the end and not wanting it to stop. There were several times when I closed the book to stop reading and prolong my enjoyment. Tess Thompson accomplishes that with Blue Midnight. Blythe Heywood’s husband has left her for a younger woman and gone with his two daughters to Hawaii to get married and …
An interesting read, though a little eerie.
This book is full of mystery and romance. Such a romantic story and one that left me holding my breath as the mystery unfolded. Can’t wait to see what happens to the other characters
Detective romance.
Awesome book
I fully enjoyed the read. The characters became more real as I read along. I found courage in the main female character in learning and adjusting to big changes in her life. She was a warm and loving human being and very believable in her unselfish love. Reading this story gave me a feel good sensation.
I would definitely recommend it to most …
Didn’t see that ending coming. Highly entertaining and boy gets girl in the end.
I enjoyed this author.
The story unfolded well; flashbacks appeared randomly in the story, which slowed the pace at the beginning, so names and details weren’t all thrown at the reader all at once.
I found most of the characters likeable. But other than the “Blue” in the name of the mountain, I was confused by the title.
The climax was a tad contrived, but, of …
I liked the story and would recommend it.
This book is the beginning of another series by Tess Thompson that I expect to be wonderful. I became a fan of Tess Thompson after beginning her “Cliffside Bay” series. The author creates characters of all ages who are flawed and human, but loving and lovable at the same time. “Blue Midnight” is about a woman, Blythe, who recently divorced, and …
Good for before bedtime relaxation, definitely not going to keep you up all night reading! But it was exactly what I was looking for.
might be a cute series
Kind of boring – none of the characters were exciting or clever – boring dialog.
Love this series and the author.
You weren’t sure what was going to happen. What pain this family has endured. Glad bad buys caught in the end.
I love a good mystery with twists and unexpected turns. Add in a love story and I’m hooked. Ms. Thompsin, I plan to buy myself a “BB.”. Folks, you will have to read the book to find out.
Liked the idea
