Opposites do more than just attract in TONI ALEO’s latest Nashville Assassins novel about a very bad boy and the good girl he can’t resist.
The instant Piper Allen sees Erik Titov, she wants him — wants his rock-hard body, sure, but the strength and mystery that lie behind that superstar hockey jock demeanor, too. So when he sidles up to her at a bar and slinks his arm around her waist, she’s … arm around her waist, she’s lost. What follows is the wildest night of her life… followed by inevitable heartbreak the next morning. And then, a few weeks later, a very big surprise: two blue lines on a pregnancy test.
Only a check to the head could make Erik fall for a nice girl like Piper. But since their crazy-sexy night together, he’s been trying to forget about her alluring body by falling into bed with every woman in Nashville, and it’s not working. So when Piper shows up at his house with a baby-bomb to drop, it doesn’t take much for Erik to suggest the nuclear option: marriage. While it’s supposed to be all for show, the second they say “I do,” the ice between them starts to melt into sizzling steam.

Read with Rating in 2015. Written Review added 2021:
I read the beginning of the Assassins series in 2015 when I was providing a rating only and providing written reviews. If and when I re-read this series, I will provide a more formal review. However, the rating was accurate at the time and I totally love Aleo’s writing style and the entire …
To be honest, the story was good!
I just didn’t enjoy this one much because I didn’t really like either main character!
First, Piper in love with a man who clearly tells her he’s not that guy. She thinks she can change him and loves him anyway, which is just… weak.
Then Erik is an immature horn dog who is a jerk, and I don’t care why he’s a …
Typical one night stand premise with a hockey twist. Characters are a little different than cookie cutter. Some interesting turns and thoughts. Easy read, no surprises, no super stressful plot so simple read with feel good ending.
I loved this book so much, but it was also sooo frustrating! These two were both SO DARN STUBBORN!
I loved Piper already and I already had some suspicions at the end of Empty Net, I was so excited to find out what was really going on!!! And Eric, I always thought he was a douche, but he confirmed those thoughts with this. I was really shocked to …
This is one of my favorite bad-boy books. And Erik will always be my favorite bad-boy!
I love this series!
Decent story and good characters make this an easy read. Hockey is my favorite professional sport, so that holds my interest as well.
Have gotten hooked and went back before I finished this book and read the books before this one!! They ARE FABULOUS!
One of the best I’ve read recently!
Second favorite in the series.
