Special Agent Pendergast-one of the most original, compelling characters in all of contemporary fiction-returns in Preston and Child’s new exhilarating novel BLUE LABYRINTH A long-buried family secret has come back to haunt Special Agent Aloysius Pendergast. It begins with murder. One of Pendergast’s most implacable, most feared enemies is found on his doorstep, dead. Pendergast has no idea who … has no idea who is responsible for the killing, or why the body was brought to his home. The mystery has all the hallmarks of the perfect crime, save for an enigmatic clue: a piece of turquoise lodged in the stomach of the deceased.
The gem leads Pendergast to an abandoned mine on the shore of California’s Salton Sea, which in turn propels him on a journey of discovery deep into his own family’s sinister past. But Pendergast learns there is more at work than a ghastly episode of family history: he is being stalked by a subtle killer bent on vengeance over an ancient transgression. And he soon becomes caught in a wickedly clever plot, which leaves him stricken in mind and body, and propels him toward a reckoning beyond anything he could ever have imagined….

My oldest son and I have been fans of Preston & Child for years. We have read every one of their co-authored works as well as their individual books. We love these books so much that we have been reading the “Pendergast” series just a few pages a day so that the book will last hopefully until the new book in the series is ready to come out. “Blue Labyrinth”, as with all of the series, did not disappoint. It was fantastic, a page turner even though I refuse to turn too many at one. Hurry up Preston & Child……I am impatiently waiting for the next book in the most current of the “Pendergast” series.
I thoroughly enjoy Preston and Child’s Agent Pendergast books. I have read just about every one.
It’s Pendergast – what more could you ask for?
Another great Preston and Child book. I love their books, can’t get enough of them.
OK, Right on for this writing team, Great use of vocabulary, but a little out there.
If you like the Pendergast and D’Agosta series you will probably like this one axs well. It is maybe not as original as Relic and Reliquary but was still full of surprises and made me look forward to when I had time to read. If you are familiar with the series you know that they books require the reader to suspend reality as some facets of the story are a bit beyond belief. However, they make for great reading and interesting stories. This was the second book from the series that I read and it was good enough to make me start at book one (Relic) and begin reading the entire series. I have not regretted it. Preston and Child are now on my list of favorite authors along with John Sandford, Ken Follett and Stephen King.
Standard Agent P fare. Good for when escapist entertainment is the desired read.
Love this entire series. Great stories, great characters.
Another Pendergast super-read. You start and then you can’t stop. This book advances the entire series yet again.
I love all the Pendergast books
So good. Gripping from first page
I absolutely love the Prendergast series. I read all Lincoln and Child’s books.
My favorite author team!
Love the Agent Pendergast series!!
faithfully read these books. special agent pendergast seems a bit full of himself in this one. loved the early books best, but still find these characters worth a read and if truth be told still find it hard to put the book down.
excellent addition to the Pendergast series.
New series with some of the characters we’ve met before in the agent Pendergast series.
Somewhat formulaic – consistent with the past pattern of the series. But, still an enjoyable read.
I love this series! I can’t put them down once I start the book.
I was thoroughly enjoyed the learning more about age not Pendergast.
