From USA Today bestselling author Tess Thompson, visit Blue Mountain yet again in this standalone tale that celebrates underdogs, family secrets, and forbidden love. Charlotte Wilde’s life is a flop. She gives her heart to the wrong men, her first published book is a failure, and now she’s dead broke too. Desperate to pay the bills, she takes a job caring for an elderly woman who is recovering … recovering from a broken hip, hopeful the position will leave her with plenty of time to focus on her writing.
Yet as Charlotte gets to work, dutifully helping Mrs. Lanigan sort through a box of old letters, distractions abound. For one thing, both women immediately become consumed with a mystery unfolding in the correspondence. And to complicate matters further, Charlotte finds herself drawn to her charge’s son, Ardan, like they’ve known each other forever. Will he become another of her mistakes or has she finally found the one?
In the third volume of the Blue Mountain Series, USA Today bestselling author Tess Thompson reunites us with the Lanigan brothers, their cranky mother, and the feisty Heywood sisters. This standalone story of forbidden love and hundred-year old mystery will keep you turning pages way past your bedtime.
more
From the opening pages Tess Thompson lets us know this is an epic love story (forseen by mystic Moonstone from erlier books in the series). But then she weaves in so much more. First the wonderful witty interchange between and “mean old thing” Mrs. Lanigan (who finds she can’t push around this formwr executive assistant). Then the old letters by Mrs. Lanigan’s parents add mystery and Felicity brings drama that unfolds with Ciaran, Ardan and Charlotte. There’s a lot going on in this book but I loved all of it.
I’m hoping there will be more books in this series. Ms Thompson introduced us toTeagan and Effie who are both waiting to find their own loves.
This is the third installment in the Blue Mountain series. Having not read the prior installments (yet), I was only slightly hindered in regard to the Lannigan backstory. Tess Thompson once again has provided her reader with a love story filled with mystery and suspense.
Charlotte Wilde had a 5-year plan that would allow her to write without having to keep a day job. That is until she gave herself to Zeke, who later helped himself to Charlotte’s savings. With no job, and a book that her agent won’t publish, Charlotte’s life is coming unraveled.
So when her former employer contacts her out of the blue to see if she’d be interested in being a care-giver for her mother-in-law in Idaho, Charlotte sees no reason to say no. With free room and board, a job, and time to write, the offer seems like a gift from God.
What Charlotte doesn’t know is that she’s about to meet her soulmate, the one that was hers all along. But, when an old friend returns from the past, will Ardan and Charlotte be able to handle all the secrets and hold onto their love?
I thought the first two books in this series were wonderful, but Blue Ink was beyond that. It definitely is my favorite in the series to date.
This book tells the story of brother Ardan meeting his love match. Yes, it’s a romance and a delightful one, but it’s so much more than that. It’s a story of relationships in various stages from beginning new one to changing the way previous relationships have been. It’s a story of life and adapting to what it gives you. It’s a story filled with delightful humor and witty banner between characters.
Tess Thompson has a true talent for telling a great story and making you enjoy each and every word. I treasure the day that I discovered her first book, and look forward to reading many more by her.
Most romantic book I’ve read in a very long time!
This book … sigh … this book exquisitely defines what romance should be. So much going on here, but at the heart of it all is a belief in the power of love to give meaning and purpose to our lives. Magnificent writing on every page, deeply philosophical soul-searching insights, even quite a bit of outrageous humor all combine to make this the best book I’ve read so far in 2019.
There are so many love stories told here! First and foremost, we have the whirlwind, love-at-first-sight romance of Arden and Charlotte. We’re also treated to a bit of a mystery as the love story of Nicholas and Augie is told through letters, and we get a taste of the romance between Riona and Edward. There’s also the bittersweet story of Boyce and Martin, and we revisit Ciaran and Bliss in the midst of their HEA as their love is tested and expanded exponentially.
This author really knows how to tell an epic story, with just a touch of paranormal and engaging, memorable characters. After devouring the first two books in this series, I was thrilled to revisit Peregrine, Idaho in this much-awaited story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I was so excited to see that author Tess Thompson released book 3 of the Blue Mountain series that I grabbed it right away. It did not disappoint! I love following characters in each book and found Blue Ink to be my favorite thus far. Can’t wait for the next book I find by this author— she sucks me in every time I’m every book I buy.
I couldn’t put the book down until I finished it. I loved the letters that tied the past and the future. Charlotte reminds me of several caregivers that my father has had over the last few years. Her ability to navigate the understandably anger of the infirmed is a gift not too many people are given. Thank you to Tess Thompson for bringing this real life struggle into the story. Then bring in the sweetest love story and you too will believe in love at first site! Charlotte and Ardan are the couple I want to stay with in Peregrine on Blue Mountain!
Beautiful Story!
Tess has written another wonderful story in the Blue Mountain series!
I loved the mystery along with the wonderful romance! There were some twists that really surprised me! All these together made for a fantastic story! I loved Charlotte and Ardan! They make the perfect couple! She was the perfect person to help Mrs. Lanigan.
She made her very lovable. I love how the family is coming together!
I loved Blue Ink and I love the series!
I eagerly await the next Blue Mountain book!

5 stars
I wasn’t completely sure that I was going to give this book a full five stars. About mid way, while I liked it, I thought maybe it was missing something. But what in the world could it be? I mean there are two amazing story lines beautifully wrapped in one book, what more was I looking for?
Well I found it. The end of the book wraps everything up so lovely. Charlotte is this amazingly wonderful person that everyone would want in their life. Arden is a crazy-sexy, sweet man who only seems to live in books. But what got me was the feeling I had when I read the very last page. This book will make you feel good. Plan and simply when I was done, I was smiling and felt good. Everything felt right in the world after this book. This one will definitely give you the “good feels.” I can’t explain it other than Tess creates worlds and people that you become so involved in that when you get your HEA it’s like your best friend just told you the most wonderful news. Like your dog learned some amazing trick. This book just makes you happy. I LOVE it. Don’t miss out on anything Tess Thompson writes. (Review by Terri “Jane”)
Wow! After I read Blue Midnight and Blue Moon (books 1 and 2 in the series) I was so excited to read Blue Ink. I have grown to love the Lanigan family of Peregrine, Idaho. This installment follows brother Ardan and Charlotte Wilde. Charlotte is the glue that the family needed. Honestly though there is so much more to this book.
There is a TON going on in this book. Every page you turn has more and more going on with different family members and friends. Some really funny bits tucked within the chapters. Overall though I would say this one pulls the heartstrings. I teared up at some points. I LOVE the letters that are found and think that they can make their very own stand-alone book.
I cannot wait to see what life has in store for the Lanigan family and Teagan, in particular.
Thanks for the great read, Tess! Keep them coming!
(I have voluntarily read and reviews this book.)
Blue Ink by Tess Thompson, Book 3 of the Blue Mountain series! I am going to have to say that this one was my favorite one of the series!! Charlotte and Mrs. Lanigan, are probably my favorite characters! I really loved the story line of this one as well. From the old letters by Mrs. Lanigan’s parents to the drama that unfolded with Felicity, Ciaran, and Ardan- this story had me on my toes. The relationship between Charlotte and Ardan was very sweet as well! I really enjoyed it!!
This was a great read!!
Tess Thompson did it again! This book was such a great read from Ardan and Charlotte to seeing a different side of Mrs. Lanigan to the historical story and mystery through old letters found. I couldn’t put this book down! I definitely recommend reading the first two books. While this can be read as a stand alone, the picture is painted best by reading all three. I hope there is more to come in the series!
What more would you want in a story?…..mystery, psychic predictions, true friends, loving family, soul mates, beautiful setting, surprises and LOVE!
This is the 3rd book in the series and you immediately fall in love with the characters. Charlotte, Arden and Mrs.Lanigan’s story draws you in with each page. It is beautifully written and full of love with a surprise at the end. I can’t wait for the 4th book in the Blue Mountain Series. .
What a fun story to read! Blue Ink is the third in the Blue Mountain series. I have read both of the other books but it has been a long time. Ms. Thompson gave reminders throughout the book so readers can be reacquainted with the Characters from past books. While you can read this book as a stand alone, you will get more out of it and keep track of who is who if you start with book one.
I love the way Tess Thompson weaves together the past and the present, mystery and love.
I had to concentrate a little harder with this book but It always had my attention from the beginning to end.
I fell in love with Ardan Lanigan and Charlotte Wilde, even with old Mrs. Lanigan.
The characters were well developed. I will confess to laughing out loud as well as shedding few tears at times.
As with all of Ms.Thompsons books, I was transported beautiful small town and sad to leave as I reached the last page.
If you are looking for a love story with mystery and mystic, I highly recommend Blue Ink!
If you want a book where you feel like you are part of a large sometimes complicated family Blue Ink, the third book of the Blue Mountain series by Tess Thompson, is a story for you. You can’t help but get emotionally connected to the characters. You feel their joy, happiness, fear and confusion. You celebrate their successes and mourn their losses. Don’t miss out on this fantastic story.
Loved the mystery in this story. It kept my hooked right from the start. The characters are enjoyable and intriguing. This is the third book in the Blue Mountain series so it was wonderful catching up on old characters and seeing where life is taking them. Tess Thompson really put her heart into this book and it is obvious for the whole read, this is what pulled my heart into it as well.
Blue Ink is the third book in the Blue Mountain Series that takes you back to Peregrine, Idaho with the Lanigan family. Charlotte comes to town to help crabby Mrs. Lanigan heal from a broken hip and finds her soulmate as well. The banter between Mrs. Lanigan & Charlotte was comical and seeing their relationship change was heartwarming. This is a story of love, second chances and mystery. Thank you Tess for another great book and the ARC!
Blue Ink in the 3rd book in the Blue Mountain Series. I highly recommend reading these books in order in order to get the full understanding of who these characters are.
I don’t even know where to begin with how much I loved this book! Once I started reading I could not put it down and was dying to know more. There was so much going on and the chemistry between the characters was out of this world. I absolutely loved all of these characters, even cranky, mean Mrs. Lanigan.
Ardan and Charlotte were drawn to each other from the first moment they met. While knowing each other for only a short amount of time they both felt like there was an instant connection. Charlotte is hired to help take care of Ardan’s mother who has proven in the past to be very difficult to handle. When some long lost letters are sent to Mrs. Lanigan a mystery about her family is reveled.
I loved the mystery and suspense of this story. I was hooked from start to finish and was dying to know what was going to happen next. This is a must read book and series for sure. – By Alisa
Tess Thompson’s books are always great, and her newest, Blue Ink, is no exception. The characters that she creates are always amazing. They aren’t perfect, all have flaws that make them real enough to think that maybe, just maybe, people like this really exist out in the world. There is one more sibling left in this family, and I hope to read her future book soon.
Charlotte has been asked to come be a companion to the Lanigan Matriach. The family has also used it to get Arden and her together to see if it’s their destiny to be together. This was an uplifting story of family and the cycle of how lives are bound together with love and faith. Wonderful book and well written.
I couldn’t put it down. I only did because life and duty calls. Charlotte and Ardan’s story is the perfect definition of true “soulmates”. I love how it included the previous two books so your not left wondering what happened to the previous characters. I also liked how it wasn’t the same type of love story as the previous two.. they knew instantly here. No denying or fighting the pull towards each other. Overall, great book with that special twist that you maybe thought about when unimportant characters were mentioned but then would never expect in the end!
