The hunky blue alien warrior thinks I’m his perfect human mate…and he’s being kind of bossy about it.
Danax says we’re a match made in paradise.
His dragon already claimed me, and he won’t take no for an answer.
He’s got things all wrong. I’m a female mercenary. I’ve been slaying monsters and traveling the universe since I was a teenager.
There’s no way I’m settling down to play house.
… settling down to play house.
He’ll never tame me.
Not even if he shifts into his dragon form and gives me the ride of my life.

This was a well-written story in the Dragons of Xanthara Series and what each of these strong characters expect to get out of it. This story was intriguing as it had some very well-thought out scenes and story plots. These characters have very strong wills and personalities and butt heads constantly. This wonderful story has the following: intrigue, twists & turns, adventure, action, romance, and love. A must read.

I enjoyed this book. It’s quite intriguing with all the different alien races and descriptions of unusual places. Full of danger, action, and intrigue. But I’m a dragon-lover, so they are what really captured my imagination. Giver me a shape shifting dragon and I’m happy! Add in a mercenary on the run from her feelings and a possessive alpha unwilling to let her leave, and this is a memorable story. As well, it perfectly sets up the rest of the series. Looking forward to see what else comes!

Kat is a mercenary soldier on New Earth. She has been on her own since the age of 15 when her mother abandoned her. Because she has had to fend for herself, she is independent, adventurous, inquisitive and commitment phobic. Due to her kind and helpful nature, she starts a series of events that leads to her greatest battle.
Danax is the prince of the Xanthara nation, which are large blue guys that can transform into dragons. Due to a war with another species, their female race has been decimated and they rely heavily upon females from New Earth and other compatible species for procreation. Danax blames himself for the loss of the females on his planet. However, once he sees Kat, him and his dragon realize that they have been given an opportunity that they cannot pass up.
This novel is short, less than 150 pages, but it packs quite a punch. From the first sentence you know Kat is going to be more than a handful for anyone that decides to take her own. The novel was filled with action and raunchy flirtatious dialogue that kept my attention. The chemistry between Danax and Kat seemed more physical than anything else, but the compatibility between them cannot be denied. The author did a good job of making Kat independent without being whiny and self-righteous. Danax was the alpha male who was able to be confident in his abilities as a leader and letting his mate do be herself. I loved them together and want to see how they progress over time. I enjoyed how the author was not afraid to let the women be openly strong and sexually adventurous individuals. Misty Malloy provides the reader with characters that are defined by their own traits and not the traditional gender stereotypes.
I received a free advanced copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
I’ve read Misty Malloy’s books before, and I was excited to start this new series about blue dragon aliens. It did not disappoint as a high heat escape!
I don’t usually read very many Alien romance type books, but figured I would give this a try. I ended up really enjoying this very much. The characters were likable and the story premise was interesting enough to keep me reading. I’m definitely looking forward to checking out the next book if there’s going to be another.
I so enjoyed this book. Kate is a mercenary, a true warrior. On a trip to New Earth to pick up a shipment of new brides, the Xantharans take off with Kate on board after she went to help another bride. Danax, the prince, notices Kate and his dragon claims her as his mate, Kate however, declines. I loved the banter and chemistry between Danax and Kate. This is a well written story, the storyline flowed smoothly, and the characters were amazing. A definite must read and I can’t wait to read more from this author.
This was a good book. Some things were predictable and some weren’t. The sparks between Danax and Kat are undeniable. Misty Malloy does a great job in world and character building. Xanthara sounds amazing and a world that would be fun to visit…minus the meat eating plant.
This is a well written short story about a dragon meeting his destined mate. Kat met the dragon prince Danax unexpectedly – he saved her from a flower that would have eaten her alive. The attraction between the two was immediate and strong but Kat had no room for a mate in her life. She’s finding hard to resist Danax because the sex was so good. After a fight to the death for Danax, Kat knows she can’t leave him.
Let her be and she will shine
What an amazing read! The author really took us on an adventure when she through these two unlikely partners together. She created these two characters and then they grew into this team where you just felt a connection no matter how hard Kat continues to deny it. I love how Danax was able to see how capable Kat really is and appreciate what she can bring to him and his people if she is allowed to shine. I can’t wait to see where the author takes her characters next, I can’t imagine it is anything less than amazing.
This is my first book from this author. I loved the details in this great read and the entertaining characters. Kate and Danax are so so funny together. I loved their banter and how both are determined to not take no for an answer. I enjoyed how these two came together.

But he has a lot of convincing to do. Then opposition comes from their enemies and things get all out of hand. Fun read

Book one in the Dragons of Xanthara series a well written story by an Author I have not read before. I want to read the next book . Kat is a guard that in helping another woman board the Xantharan’s spaceship, it take off with her on it. She meets Danax a prince when the ship gets to the Xantharan’s planet. I enjoyed seeing this story come together with its suspense, drama, danger, villains, and romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
It’s a case of I was helping a friend now I’m on my way to an alien planet is what Kat is trying to explain to her superiors as to why she is not going to be doing her normal thing of being a mercenary and doing the job she had planned. Kat has been on her own since she was 15 y/o and her independence is all she has, no family, no real friends and nothing that ties her to one place.
Her simple act of kindness has now earned her a new friend Mira plus the attention of a dragon/mate in Danax. Kat is used to charting her own course and she bows to no one.
Danax is still beating himself up at not being able to save the females of his species. No one could have predicted what their enemy was up to with creating a gender specific bio-weapon that still doesn’t stop Danax from carrying that guilt.
Danax is both pleased that Kat isn’t afraid of him but also a bit uncertain as how to handle a very physically capable and able female/mate. He wants to keep her safe but is finding that Kat is not one to sit on the sidelines when something needs to happen.
A situation occurs and Danax is able to appreciate Kat’s skills and her insights as they work towards protecting his city and people.
For the most part the pacing moves along and there is a lot of snark and some laugh out loud moments. I enjoyed that Danax didn’t feel in any less masculine when he had to rely on Kat’s skills and I enjoyed the secondary characters. My only hint of confusing came with Mira, she’s a virgin fleeing an abusive ex-husband? That needed some more explanation or clarification for me, other than that it was a fun read.

4.5 Stars
I’ve really enjoyed other books by this author and it was a no brainer for me to take a chance on this book. This story met and exceeded my expectations. The characters were well developed and the storyline intriguing. Kate is a mercenary for hire and she is supposed to be guarding the general of New Earth but when she escorted a potential bride on a ship bound for Xanthara she is trapped on the ship with all of the other potential brides with no way of returning to her post. So when she lands on Xanthara weeks later she is in a hurry to return to New Earth but another ship won’t be returning for a few days so she is stuck. She decides to make the best of it and explore her temporary home. Danax is a prince of Xanthara and has his eyes set on Kate from the first moment they meet. I love the banter between the two and the sexual tension between them you can cut with a knife. Will Kate return to New Earth or will Danax give her a reason to stay? This is the first book in this new and thrilling series. I can’t wait for the next installment!!
Rated X. Couldn’t Read It.
Kat is an warrior and will fight for her freedom..
Danax is the alien dragon shifter prince and will do whatever is necessary to get his species to survive .
I loved the easy read pace of this book, it’s funny, smutty, and I laughed about those adult lessons
Where can i sign up for those?
Definitely an adult paranormal romance book
I loved the characters especially our heroine, she was feisty and bold.
While I loved the story it had the cliche love trope of guy recognises mate girl doesn’t want mate or love and then has random ahah moment of all stories HOWEVER this trope didn’t make it to the ending their badass relationship doesn’t end how many do it’s worth the trope for the ending
Read it
