I liked this book but keep in mind it is a very slow burn romance. There is a lot of angst, drama and poignant emotions in Blue an Psalm’s romance. Psalm was very sweet, Blue could be a bit of a jerk, the kids were cute and the dogs delightful. A good read.
This is the third book in this phenomenal series, and is Blue and Psalm’s turn.
Blue is the son of the MC President and his Old Lady, and works as a deputy as well as trying to won custody off his children. Psalm is a widow, who leads a quiet life running her craft store and fostering dogs. Psalm has had a crush on Blue since school days, but Blue does not want to involve anyone in his complicated life. This is another well written story, which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all MC lovers.
This is the 3rd book in the series and just as good as the other 2 but each book is entirely different so don’t be fooled into thinking if you have read one you have read them all. Each one is unique. Blue is a complicated man that is almost too good to be true with so many burdens weighing him down it is depressing. Psalm is the town angel. A widow who owns her own shop where she sells her home made soaps, lotions, candles and other local artisan crafts. She fosters rescue dogs and regularly helps anyone in need, including the handsome complicated Deputy Blue. This book has it all, love, a couple of great kids, villainous ex, dogs galore, steamy sex and things to make one do some thinking.
I find myself really liking Psalm for who she is, and what she stands for! We get a good look at her history and what brought her back home. I love that she gives Blue a run for his money. The way she treats people and animals makes me want to be her. Blue frustrates me to no end about everything with Jonelle. Things started to make more and more sense as I continued to read. Psalm is right in what she says to Blue, how she calls him out. I cried for Solm and Toto. I like Sam and his protective nature over Michelle and Cody. Oh my! What happened in this book took my breath away.

I LOVE Blue! Blue is the son of Dragon Runners MC president, Brick and ol’ lady Betsey. A sexy deputy battling his ex wife over their two children. Blue is willing to do anything and puts his kids before everything else including his own happiness.
Psalm is a shop owner who fosters dogs before they find their forever home. She’s had a crush on her neighbor, deputy Davis, since high school and grew stronger after she moved back to town several years ago. Does Psalm have room in her heart to add Deputy Blue Davis and his two children, Michelle and Cody?
Will Blue and Psalm find happiness or will the pull each other further away?
3.5 stars
Good Lord the angst on this one. Blue is the sweet but super angsty third book in the Dragon Runners MC series. Although it is part of a larger series, I enjoyed the book as a stand alone.
Deputy Blue is the son of the Dragon’s president and his old lady. He knows he’ll always have a place in the MC but he wants more than just being the prez’ son affords him. He wants to make it on his own but the hits keep on coming. He’s fighting a vicious custody battle for his kids where his ex is using the kids like pawns in a game, his town is shaken by the deaths of high school students from illegal drugs and he’s tired…just plain tired. After the disaster of his marriage, he thinks he’ll never want to be involved with anyone again but Psalm just calms everything around her. In desperate need of peace, he’s drawn to her like a moth to a flame.
Psalm has had a crush on Deputy Blue since they were in school together but he’s always been so distant. She moved on to a good marriage but after grieving the loss of her husband she’s ready for more. Watching Blue and his kids suffer pains her heart and she can’t stay removed from them.
This book was such a slow mover for me and it didn’t quite take off until about 3/4 of the way through but it was sweet. Blue is such a layered character who is struggling to keep it together and Psalm wants desperately to be his anchor. The kids and the dog broke my heart, I actually cried a little and I’m sure you’ll figure out where upon reading it yourself. There’s nothing like a loyal dog. Good read and a lot tamer than most MC books.

I am loving this series! Every book gets a little bit better. Grab your copy of Stud and get started reading!
This book, Blue, is about Blue and Psalm. We meet Blue throughout the first 2 books so we know his circumstances but now we get to know his thoughts and feelings about how his life is.
I love Psalm. She’s had a rough road but she has made a peaceful life for herself. She’s the kind of woman I want to be when I grow up.
Psalm and Blue end up across the street from each other, each watching the other, falling for each other a little each day. But he fights to not drag her into the mess that is his life, until he’s reminded that with her, his life is a little less messy.
Can not wait for the next book and yes, there is one coming. Like I said, grab the first one and catch up before it does.
I have to disagree with Psalm Kopolove about her assessment of dogs and alarms. My dog hated to get up in the morning. I was her alarm clock but she always grumbled when it was time to get up so I would let her sleep until it was almost time for me to go to work. One thing that impressed me about Psalm was that she’s one of those heroes that fosters dogs. I like the idea but don’t see how you can do it and have a full-time job that requires so much of your time. Something else I liked was part of her morning routine. I would love to shadow her sometime.
Jason “Blue” Davis is a man who’s struggling. He tries to protect those that need it but you can see his frustration when it comes to those he cares about. One such frustration was a b*tchy woman that our author was very good at creating. You know how creative she is when I want two minutes alone with said character. But she also does a good job at pulling at my heartstrings. She creates two smaller characters that you want to wrap your arms around.
When you see the title of the series you think, “MC romance”. But this is so much more. Blue’s family heads an MC but his life is the opposite of what you would expect a son to have. And that’s one thing I loved about this book because I get the unexpected. It held my attention and had me looking forward to seeing what’s around the next corner. Plus there was a certain someone that I wanted to see get their just desserts.
I really came to care for Psalm as I got to know her better. She does so much for dogs and has a job that makes people happy. And knowing that she wants a certain someone, you keep your fingers crossed that her heart speaks loud enough for his to hear. I also liked that the author made me wait for it too. She took her time to develop her characters and their storyline first. And the ending couldn’t have been any better – one last tug of the heart.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Another fabulous addition to the Dragon Runners series! I loved Psalm from the beginning, Blue took a while for me to warm up to because he was always blowing hot and cold with Psalm, but I understood his reasoning. Psalm has an extremely big heart, it shows through here or interactions with canines and people alike. The way she made room for Blue and his children in her heart and to be shot down so many times it was heartbreaking. Blue couldn’t trust women especially his ex-wife and that set the tone for his interactions with Psalm.
Once I started the book I couldn’t put it down until I knew how it ended. This book kept me right on the edge of my seat until the last few chapters. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!!
Blue is the third book of the Dragon Runners series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but the history in the first two books makes for better understanding.
We’ve been getting bits and pieces about Blue as this series moves along. As the son of the MC president, he’s been floating around the edges of each book. He’s been hardened by love, and just wants to work and care for his kids. He meets Psalm and they instantly connect. Their story is a slow burning, intense romance. It’s “MC-adjacent” more than a traditional MC novel. It was paced well and kept me hooked.
M.L. Nystrom hit it out of the park with this one! I fell in love with this series in the first book, but Blue solidified it into a favorite series. I was intrigued from the moment I first got a glimpse of Blue in previous books. I just knew the mysterious deputy and son of the MC President was going to have one heck of a story and I was not disappointed. This book was more than I could have ever dreamed of!
Everything from deliciously sexy and seriously swoony romance to heart stopping edge of your seat “WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT!?” moments all wrapped up in the pages of this book.
Psalm is hands down my favorite lady so far in this series. She’s a beautiful mix of soft and strong that just makes her the kind of character people can’t help but be drawn to. Saying she has a big heart is an understatement. From people to animals Psalm is always there with open arms ready to help. Night and day different from Blue’s ex wife and everything he never knew he needed Blue wasn’t sure what to do when it came to her.
With all he had on his plate he was at times broody along with running hot and cold but the slow burn that builds between him and Psalm is something neither of them stood a chance against. Their emotional and surprisingly sweet love grows through it all even when things heat up and chaos surrounds them. I loved every bit of this book!
Oh how I loved this book. The author has written a wonderful storyline with so many attributes that I absolutely adore. It has romance, struggles, intrigue, humor, suspense and amazing characters (both human and furry).
Blue is the son of Betsey and Brick (the Prez of the Dragon Runners MC) and the town’s Deputy Sheriff. He is well respected and liked by almost everyone. But sadly he has heavy load of problems, both personal and work related. Someone is selling laced drugs that are killing kids in the area and his ex is making his life, as well as the lives of his parents, his kids and everyone around him, a living hell. Blue is struggling to keep everything together but knows he must in order one day get custody of his kids. His one bright spot is his neighbor Psalm. But he won’t cross that line because she deserves so much better than what he can give her.
Psalm is a widow that owes her own business and has had a secret crush on her new neighbor, Blue, since high school. She spends her time making soaps and other scented items, maintaining her store and fostering dogs in need. Her life is pretty routine and keeps her grounded. But when Blue’s two small children run into her store, scared and alone her worlds becomes anything but routine. Especially when she has to deal with Blue’s fuming ex, 2 scared kids and one very very protective dog.
Will Blue ever catch a break? This is a fantastic addition the the Dragon Runners MC series. I highly recommend both the book and the series (if you haven’t started it you really should). The author has given us another heartfelt story with “Blue” and it’s one book you don’t want to miss out on. 2 Thumbs Up!!!
Gives You The Feels
That’s exactly what you get when you mix a town deputy with a woman who makes her lively hood making soap for tourists and many others. Oh, but wait there is so much more to this story than what you get with all of this old town “pie & ice cream” story. Let’s say that Blue is a non-acting member of the local MC with his father being the acting Prez. Now just how does that work out being the town deputy who takes his job seriously? They both hand out justice but in their own ways.
Psalm is a young widow whose life changed on a dime with losing her husband but she picked herself up, moving back home and started her own business doing something she loves and making money at it. Blue and Psalm live across the street from one and other and Psalm always did have a crush on Blue but he was the bad boy and nothing ever came of it.
Now Blue is a father of two who loves his kids dearly but the mother has twisted things and taken custody of them both leaving Blue a broken man. He lives for his kids. Psalm also has love in her life in the form of rescue dogs that she takes in to get them ready for their forever homes.
This is a story full of heartbreak and leaves you grasping for hope that they can find their way together through everything in front of them. I have loved the other books in this series and can’t wait for the next one to come.
We have “watched” Blue’s relationship with his wife and the issues that they have had throughout books one and two. Now, Blue is divorced and dealing with custody issues with his crazy ex, while at the same time trying to do his job. He doesn’t have the time to devote to even thinking about being with someone new, so for Blue, helping Psalm with her boxes and getting that to go coffee will just have to be enough. But the little shopkeeper is just the calming balm that Blue needs, but Blue not wanting to get burned again means he will put up his guard and keep Psalm at arm’s length… but when he decides that she is what he needs will she still be there?
This was a lovely story from ML Nystrom. With drama, danger, some really sad moments that had me sobbing, this was a good read. I give this 4 stars.
