Mystery without a mystery. Rehash of her previous book. This series should have ended two entries ago. Only positive – it was free.
I was buzzing my way through this latest installment of the Lord and Lady Hetheridge series, patting myself smugly on the back for picking up on the various clues along the way, so certain I knew who the murderer was three chapters in but enjoying the ride… only to be WRONG. Wrong, wrong, wrong! As usual, Emma Jameson delivers a tight mystery along with a perceptive character-driven story, and I can’t praise it enough. Just read it!
When I started the Hetheridge series they were murder mysteries with enjoyable characters weaved into the mysteries. This book was a bunch of personalities with a murder mystery as a secondary object. These are no longer the Hetheridge mysteries they are the Hetheridges and all the wonderful friends they have and the wonderful things they do for some of the people they meet. Oh yeah, there was a murder. Not my cup of tea. Will not be seeing the Hetheridges any longer.
If you do like this sort of sappy story the writing is done well.
Difficult to follow. Didn’t keep my interest.
Great mystery series.
Love the series.
Great series!
The series is great….
Really love this series and the characters. Haven’t read one for a while, so I enjoyed catching up with them. Decent plot, as usual, and good supporting characters.. Always look forward to another book in the series.
Good story. Language good. I will read the others in this series
Unusual way to scare someone to death. Who did and why
I like this whole series.
The romance of the lead characters while dealing with PTSD and a current murder created a juxtaposition that worked to keep the reader drawn into the mystery.
I do enjoy the characters, and the series helps me remember parts of London I have visited
Great fun! It’s part of a series. Best to begin at the beginning but not horrible if you start anywhere in the series.
Her whole series is good. Worth reading in order as her characters develop over
time. Mystery is good. Observations of character insightful. And she and the
Inspector likeable as human beings — with their challenges and perceptions both.
Terrific series, never disappoints.
It was a little difficult to follow, but interesting. It just kept the reader up to date on the main characters.
Interesting plot and characters. I would recommend this book and plan to read others by this author.
I enjoy this author.
