Only the strongest survive … most of the timeRaven may be a shifter, but she’s always felt separate from her wolf. She never knew it should be different. Then, a stranger showed up in her hometown, turning her world upside down and recruiting her for the elite Bloodshed Academy.Everything she’s ever known gets challenged, and Raven found herself in impossible situations. Making matters worse … situations. Making matters worse was the fact that one of the strongest alphas at school caught her eye. And he made her feel things she didn’t understand.
The school may only recruit the best of the best, the strongest in their world, but there was something more about Raven. When push comes to shove, she had to decide if she’s willing to fight for what she’s come to love … or run from a life she couldn’t quite accept.

I LOVED this BOOK! I am so glad I took a chance on this well written book with dynamic characters and world building that is unbelievable! Raven as never felt that connection to her wolf like most Shifters. So imagine her shock & surprise when someone from the ELITE Bloodshed Academy was there to recruit her!?! Will she fight for what she loves or run from the life she never wanted? Read it to find out!

An addictive book that I instantly fell in love with. I definitely have some new book boyfriends. All of the characters are wonderful. A great choice for fans of Harry Potter and Percy Jackson.

I couldn’t put this book down once I picked it up. The men are delicious, just enough sass, and the plot is good. 5/5 would recommend this book to my friends. It took me a few chapters to become fully immersed in the book but once I did I stayed up way past my bed time haha.

I very much enjoyed this read. It was funny, witty, and thrilling, with action and romance tossed it. The camaraderie between the main character group set a good pace for the storyline. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series.

We all know that we fall into that trap with Academy series where we either want it more spicy or with more well rounded content. What I love about this book is that even though it is categorized for new adult, it worked out perfectly. The storyline is well written and detailed to the point its interesting and not overbearing, and there is just enough spice ( nothing explicit) for it to be hot and ore appropriate for a late teens reader.
As a mid 30’s reader, I would recommend and I am waiting for that next book to come out.

Wow totally loved this book each page keeps you gripped wanting to know more about Raven and the things that keep happening around her.
We initially meet her at high school just before she graduates and has to go to her boyfriend’s baseball game. Where she meets Cole. From here we see things change for Raven when Cole comes to collect her to take her to bloodshed academy with Rage and eventually Damien too. With many twists and turns we see the book end in an explosive way to then leave you with a tease and wondering what’s going to happen next. Cant wait for book 2
Fantastic series starter
A shifter finds herself placed in an academy and in unfamiliar surroundings. I voluntarily received this book for an honest review.
Fantastic Book!!
This was my first book I’d ever read by Jen Grey , and I really enjoyed it. It had a fantastic plot and great characters that I just fell in love with.
I’m now starting the rest of the series cause I’m stuck in the world and can’t wait to see what happens next!!
I recieved an ARC for my honest review.
4.5 stars!
Call me surprised.
I FLOVED this paranormal, shifter, high YA romance. Raven was fiesty and strong, Rage…I FLOVED him too. Cole was a hoot, Jess was sweet, and Damien was protective.
I like that this isn’t a reverse harem (that I do like) but rather a true mate story that also has other guys who love her as a friend. THAT is so rare in these books and so refreshing.
Raven is recruited to Bloodshed Academy where the girls are mean, and her wolf refuses to mesh with her fully. Once they mesh together, the true mate bond shows and things progress.
Really, nothing too exciting happened in this book other than that one fight. But I really found myself enjoying the plot, characters, and fast-paced plot.
Enjoyed the story quite a bit. I imagine there is more to Raven and her wolf than we have seen this far. Seems like we have heard the last of Greg.

This was such a great book. Raven, strong wolf shifter, was feeling trapped in her pack and her relationship with the next alpha, Greg. When scouts from Bloodshed Academy come looking for her, a whole new world opens up for her. This book was a rollercoaster ride of emotions and can not wait to see what happens next.

Before I begin my review for Year One (Bloodshed Academy) by Jen L. Grey I would personally like to thank the author, the publishers and Booksprout for the opportunity to read this ARC and I have reviewed it honestly.
Welcome to Bloodshed Academy, an elite supernatural academy with a history as bloody as its name, Year One (Bloodshed Academy) by Jen L. Grey is a rousing read. With a snarky and inappropriate vampire, a quiet and reserved bear shifter, a gorgeous, womanising wolf shifter and a sassy fae roommate, Ravens life is about to get exciting as hell.
Year One (Bloodshed Academy) features, but is not limited to, the following themes:
Supernatural academy
Supernatural creatures
Wolf shifters
College drama
Steamy scenes
NA fantasy romance
Secrets
My overall rating for Year One (Bloodshed Academy) is…
4 Stars!
I loved connecting with the characters in this book! With three swoon-worthy supernatural men, a sassy best friend Fae and a protagonist struggling to connect with herself, there wasn’t much not to love about them. Add in the supernatural academy, the slow burn romance and a unique storyline and you get a peachy page-turner.

Bloodshed Academy: Year One is my first book by Jen and I have she has grabbed my attention. I loved this book so hard, there is just something about a paranormal romance that takes place in an academy where the students aren’t guaranteed to survive that pulls my interest.
They are all like welcome to my prestigious academy we hope you survive until graduation. However, between shady staff, students who are complete psychos and evil lurking about are gonna cause for an interesting read. Jen has created a very interesting story that not only kept my interest but completely sucked me in, between the characters and the plot things are very exciting.
Raven is the main character, she is a wolf shifter who doesn’t really fit in with her pack and has a little trouble with her wolf. She is the person who seems like everything fine and does what is expected of her but wants more from life than what she has been forced into. Bloodshed is the perfect place for her to learn and grow into a better version of herself, and throughout this book, I was able to see some of that growth.
The other characters are interesting. There is Jess the best friend who is a true ally at a school where most people can’t be trusted. Their friendship is adorable and it was really heartwarming to see them have someone that has their back when neither really had that before. As for the guys… I will admit I have no idea if this is a reverse harem. Currently, I have a reverse harem obsession, I want to read rh all the time, and when I read things they could easily be rh so I could be reading into things. I mean, there are three guys, Cole, Rage, and Damien, and you can tell each of them have warmed up to her. The guys have their own little group and they include her she kinda resists, it’s cute. I will admit that the guys could be a little cold/harsh to anyone not in the group but a lot of the bitches deserve it. Out of all the guys, Cole is my favorite, the sassy, the snark, and the generally crazy that is him just pulls me in and I want to see more of him.
The plot of Bloodshed Academy Year One is kinda genius. I mean there is a female who grows into her power, female friendship, guys who support and protect but let the girl do her thing. There are secrets, shady staff, and so many easter eggs. I mean I have my theories because certain things were mentioned and I couldn’t help but put two and two together. However, I still have questions especially the one about Raven and Cole because something happened earlier in the story and then a fact was mentioned towards the end of the story which has me asking a very important question.
I really did enjoy the story, Jen’s characters spoke to me and the story was fascinating, I can’t wait to see what Year Two at Bloodshed brings and I hope that the secrets come out and my questions get answered.
I loved this book! The characters are well written and very funny. A school for Alphas who would have thought it. I would think it would be a recipe for disaster, we shall have to see. All of the guys have their quirks and the gal’s are full of spit and vinegar. I love a strong female lead in a story, I was not sure in the beginning because she let Greg treat her like crap but it turned out well in the end. There are many questions that I hope will be answered in book 2.

Have you ever finished a book and felt you are in different dimension?
Let me tell you why i picked this book? well its mainly beacuse Cover and i am in mood for supernatural stuff. And when i saw this book i now i need to read it. And i am happy that i did it and now Jen Grey is one of my fav author.
It was a fascinating reading, that kept me busy for straight 5 hour ! If you are in for something supernatural and captivating, this one could be the right book for you!
I did enjoy every of the characters though, they had their flaws, everyone dealing with thier own weakness but its awesome thats what gibe this book a realostic approach.
I dont like Grey , he dnt have a sense of privacy and respect for himself or Raven.
He is selfish , moody , childish not even a bit lile Alpha male.
Sometime i dnt even like Rage because he never expressed his love toward Raven. Olny charcter i loved is cole he is just a happy cookie.
It was a lovely quick read, I finished it in a few hours and though I gave it a 4, its not one that I would feel the need to reread any time. But yes i want to read next book in series and wanted to know what happen next , whats the secret behind her origin that necklace and why her mom did that.
I feel like big relevation is going to come in next book.
Honestly i loved this book alot, loved Raven character super sassy and cole is just fun loving guy. This book had everything which you expect from a supernatural book.

This is a fantastic read, one that once you pick it up you will not be able to put it down. The world building is incredible, the storyline addictive and the characters kick ass! There’s mystery and intrigue, romance and friendship, snark, hilarity and sass and I cannot wait to read the next book!
This one was an enjoyable and entertaining listen for me! I really liked the kind of girl-power theme it has going and the mystery woven throughout the story. It definitely has these Reverse Harem vibes, but it is a M/F romance. I love all the wonderful characters and the world building was interesting!
The narrator does a great job, but the thing that brought it down to a 4-star for me is the voice she uses for the MMC. Sometimes it sounds kinda whiny (and that’s not the vibe I get from his character at all). But she does various character voices and is easy to understand and pleasant to listen to!
