Investigative journalist Lara Tucker is not new to risking her life for a story. She’s stared serial killers in the face, exposed corrupt politicians without blinking, and even made friends with a human weapon that shifts into a werewolf on command. But this isn’t just any story. It’s the story.Lara knows the mayor of Perry, Stephanie Guzman, is behind her uncle’s murder, and with the help of Jon … and with the help of Jon Hawkins – werewolf without consent – she intends to prove it, even if it means risking her life.
But Jon has secrets of his own, secrets even Lara doesn’t know about that could compromise everything Lara has worked towards.
Lara knows she should be afraid of him. He has more blood on his hands that can ever be wiped clean. He’s a monster, a beast. He could kill her with his bare hands.
And yet, he’s the only person she trusts.

A scintillating and suspenseful story!
This book starts out fast and the pace never slows. The story revolves around an investigative reporter, Lara, with a penchant for running her mouth with no thought. I did not like Lara. She is reckless, rash, extremely selfish and thinks she’s always right and everyone should drop everything for her. Jon was a military man that was changed into a werewolf against his will. If not for him, Lara would have been dead several times. I loved everything about the book except Lara. I’m willing to give the next book a chance and hope she’s learned her lesson, at least a little.
The corrupt mayor may be gone now, but that was only the tip of the iceberg in regards to the secrets the city of Perry hides. For me this book was a slower build than the previous one. Even though I was already invested in finding out what would happen next, this story took its time getting there, and there were a few romantic detours along the way. I found myself occasionally frustrated with Lara when she didn’t pick up on the clues that I did. But that ending! In no way was I prepared for that revelation and now I’m dying to get my hands on the next book.

Our heroine is a reporter trying to solve multiple mysteries, not the least of which is why the hero is a werewolf. Our hero has his own motivations and she may not like what she finds.
This is the start of an urban fantasy series featuring werewolves, murders and lots of shady dealings. The story is well written and generally easy to read, although some typos and inconsistencies did creep in. I found the story and the setting to be unique and interesting, although with this being the first book of the series, there are a lot more questions than answers at this point. Similarly, the characters have a good start, but I want to learn more about them and hope to see them mature in the next book. Overall, the story was enjoyable and did catch my attention enough that I want to know what comes next. On to book two.
Recommended.

Holy shiznet!!! What a story. This story has it all, murder, intrigue, a mystery, men changed into werewolves, and a budding love. I recommend this read 5 Thumbs up
We have mystery, suspense, action, danger, and of course our supernatural. Lara is an investigative journalist and will do anything to get her story. Jon has secrets and is a werewolf. Lara’s uncle is dead, and she know who did it. For some reason Lara only trust Jon, but she shouldn’t. Can he help her? Can he protect her? Can she prove who killed her uncle? Can Jon stop them from turning others?

I really liked this book 1 of the Were-Weapon Saga. It was a mix of the supernatural, a mystery, and suspense all rolled into one story that kept me reading until the end just to figure out what was really going on. And if Lara could both get the goods on the Mayor and help her friend Jon. I liked the action and the pace as Lara seemed to have to try to stay alive and solve all the mysteries. Just a well written book that I really liked and now I need the rest of the series.
This is a well written book with an intriguing story line. The characters are strong and the author does a great job pulling you in and keeping you eagerly reading to the end. I enjoyed watching the interactions of the investigative journalist, Lara Tucker, and the shapeshifting werewolf, Jon Hawkins, as they try to expose the corrupt mayor of Perry, Stephanie Guzman, of being behind her uncle’s murder.
This fast-paced story keeps the action moving forward well and I would recommend this well-written book. It offers a good mixture of betrayal, turmoil, corruption and danger. The characters come to life and I quickly found myself caring about what’s going to happen to them and whether they will be successful facing such a powerful adversary!
Lara is getting close to finding out what happened to her uncle and grandfather. Lara was a tough journalist and smart. She put herself in danger to find out who killed her uncle and grandfather, and to find out who changed Jon into a werewolf. With the help of Jon, her friend Robbie, and police officer Estrada she just mi8ght get her answers and take down some big political officials and government people. I loved this book and even though she gets some answers there are still questions to be answered and more information to find out. Can’t wait for the next book. This story started off with a bang … well quite literally. Lara, the heroine, gets shot at right at the start of this novel! She is saved by Jon, an ex-military now turned werewolf. The chemistry between them is palpable. Can’t wait to see how or if their relationship will develop between them.

Bloodshade is an intriguing story full of danger, betrayal, secrets, mystery and more. The beginning of the book pulled me into the story and I couldn’t put it down until the last page. I can’t wait to read the next book to find out what happens next.
Bloodshade by Isadora Brown is the first book in the Were-Weapon Saga. This book starts off with a definite bang as an investigative newspaper reporter named Lara Tucker is being chased through the streets and being shot at by gunmen. She is then miraculously saved from being shot and killed by a shape shifter who appears in the nick of time. This is just the exciting beginning of this thrilling story that involves several mysteries that Lara is trying to solve. I was hooked immediately by this exciting and unusual storyline and the characters that just can’t seem to stay out of trouble. I loved reading this thrilling book about small and large government corruption, and the investigative reporter who is determined that the truth will be told. This book is definitely not to be missed. Blood of a Huntsman is an enthralling tale of mystery, magic, and romance.
