I thought turning 18 would make me a free witch, but now I am staring a death sentence in the face…I should have listened to my uncle when he told me not to go to that party, but it was the party of the century. And I had spent way too much time being the mopey emo witch girl whose parents had died serving “the man”. I wanted to let loose. But I didn’t take the risks seriously. Not all … seriously.
Not all paranormals are good, and many have sinister plans best served by an unsuspecting witch who had a lot too much to drink.
Next I know it, I am begging for my life after having been turned into an abomination against my will; an illegal blood witch who is too dangerous to live. All I can hope is that the fact that my father died in the service of the very people that hold my fate in their hands now still means something to them. And they will show me mercy.
Though, going to their academy to be trained to die just the same as he did is a rough definition of mercy.

I enjoyed this book I want more, I will be buying the next book in the series, the only think I was not a huge fan of is the love triangle I just feel like they are played out but overall the book is very good and would definitely recommend it.

Blood Witch is much like other stories of this genre, with the drama of young adult relationships infused with the supernatural that brings complications. In this book, Riley is your typical 18-year-old witch until she sneakily does something her Uncle forbid her to do, and of course, there are life-changing consequences. She ends up at a school for supernaturals, where she has not only to figure out who she is but what. Riley finds her BFF, gets her first boyfriend, takes down a bully, and falls for an angel, all in her first few months at the Academy. There are a couple of surprising twists in the story, and some deep secrets to reveal in the next book. This one ends with a steamy cliff hanger, so reading Aurora Witch, book 2 in the Paranormal Hunters Academy series, is a must.

This book is not what I usually read, but I really enjoyed it. The characters were awesome and had good background information so you could see who they were. I would definitely recommend this book to readers who want a good book that isn’t so serious and is a good read for when you want to relax and just enjoy a good read. Although, I have to admit that I spent a long night up trying to finish it because I was so enthralled!!

This is a good start of series with interesting characters. I am not a fan of insta love so I wish there was a little more build up to the relationships in this book but overall it was an agaging storyline that kept my interest and I am interested in seeing where the story goes next
Learn or die!
When Riley snuck off to a paranormal party for her 18th birthday, she did not think for a minute that it might be the last birthday she ever celebrated. An encounter with a hooded stranger could mean a death sentence unless she agrees to attend the Paranormal Hunter Academy and train to become a slave Warrior for the Magistrates like her dead parents.
This promises to be an exciting series and I am looking forward to book two. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary. My only complaint is that it ends with a giant cliffhanger.
This is a phenomenal read! I couldn’t put down!! It’s been on my TBR for a bit and so glad I got to it!!! I devoured it! Rae writes a fabulous world with fantastic characters!! Does have a cliff hanger as it’s part of a series!
I REALLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK. I LOVED THE STORYLINE AND CHARACTERS. BOTH ARE VERY WELL WRITTEN AND DEVELOPED. THIS IS THE FIRST BOOK IN THE SERIES AND IT WAS A GREAT START. IM LOOKING FORWARD TO READING THE NEXT BOOK AND WOULD RECOMMEND READING.

This is a great story of witches, demons and angels! With a great storyline you will find yourself engrossed as we follow our female m/c to the hunters academy after being turned into a blood witch. How does she fare? Read the book to find out! A great YA read for 16+
This was a different take on Demons, Angles and Vampires. Riley has lived with her Uncle since her parents were killed. She is now 18 and wants to go to a party, but her uncle won’t let her. So she does what all teens do and goes anyway. But what happened to her? Will her family forgive her or will she die for it? What will the Academy do to her? Can they help? Can any one help? Why does she have feelings for some men that she should not?

Riley lives with her uncle, seeing how her parents are both dead. She wanted to go to a party on her 18th birthday, but her uncle told her no. She went anyway (with her cousin) and found herself being dazzled by a charming, good looking guy who danced with her and gave her a funny drink. She woke up in the morning, abandoned by everyone, and found that she had been turned into a blood witch – something that couldn’t be tolerated – would be killed immediately. Her uncle found her and took her to the authorities who gave her the option – die or attend the Hunter’s Academy. She chose to live, of course, but life was not going to be easy. There are so many twists and turns in this book, which makes it impossible to put down.
It’s so much fun watching all of the changes that are going on with Riley. There is a lot of drama with guys, but it is interesting. Riley thinks she is a blood witch from demon blood. It turns out that she isn’t, but what is she? And how does she find out the truth? I can’t wait til the next book to see if Riley can control what she is and if she finds out the whole truth.
ONE TUMULTUOUS WILD RIDE!!!
Fascinating! Rae dazzles this incredibly fascinating approach, spinning all the shenanigans and mayhem, with such ingenuity, imagination, immense passion and unique insight, welding this sparkling jewel together sleek, shiny and tight. A tumultuous wild ride chocked-full of unexpected circumstances and thrilling mishaps, blasts those swirling emotions into play, booting this glittering jewel into a roaring tempest, catapulting it into a tailspin with a mind-blowing culmination. Twined, combined and interwoven, exposing the explosive ups and agonizing downs, grounding in it’s strength and awe inspiring in it’s depth. Cognizant of the instant awareness and charged atmosphere, along with a horde of thrilling twists and stunning turns, tempting our characters in ways they could have never envisioned. The characters are complex and authentic with depth and traits that blend and flow, transforming into genuinely relatable personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions you have no problem picturing each scenario creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Amazing job Rae, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
I liked this story about Witches, Demons and Angels. I twas not the typical good vs evil story but instead focus on Riley a witch from a good bloodline who ends up getting a surprise at a party and ending up attending the Paranormal Hunter Academy not as a witch but as a Blood Witch who escaped being executed. The story was interesting and had a bit of a mystery to it as Riley studies at the academy. I loved the characters in the story and the friends she makes. I liked the pace and the mystery and the ending was a great twist and sets up the next story wonderfully. It was pretty clean with just some heavy kissing too. I was hooked form the beginning and read it in one sitting.
Blood Witch is a fun and fast-paced read. I finished it in one sitting. I look forward to the rest of the series this book is a fantastic start and Riley is a fun MC with a big learning curve and plenty of trouble. Tge book is well written and has an interesting world. I received this book from Booksprout for an honest review.
From low magic witch to powerful Blood Witch? Since the deaths of her parents, Riley has lived with her uncle and cousin. Both parents were witches and demon hunters, but Riley doesn’t have a lot of magic and her uncle has always hoped she would have different choices in life than being a demon hunter also. But on her eighteenth birthday a demon forces her to drink his blood and she wakes up a blood witch, half demon and half witch. She is considered an abomination and will be executed. But the Magistrate decides to let her attend the Hunters Academy and learn to become a demon hunter, as her new powers would be beneficial. She makes a good friend, and has a boyfriend, but a magistrate named Adriel keeps singling her out, seems to have feelings for her, and she has feelings for him also, even though she also loves her boyfriend Kagan. But if she is a blood witch and supposed to be powerful, why is she having a hard time at the magic stuff? Then she finds out something shocking. She hasn’t been turned into a blood witch, but something more rare.
