Fantastic story! Great world building and characters.
I really enjoyed this quick read! The story was simple and easy to follow. The author did a good job creating this vampire world without boring the readers with an over detailed history on everything. I look forward to continuing the series and learning more about the kyn.
Maria is a feisty little Dhampir (half human/vampire) who seems to live in two worlds.
The story was well done and I enjoyed the characters. It’s an action packed romance and I wish it went on longer. I recommend this quick read.

Blood Vow is book 1 in the Kyn series that features a unique take on vampires and their world/culture hidden amidst ours. The book is written in third person omniscient perspective from both characters’ point of view.
I really enjoy when an author takes a well known lore and twists it up, and this series is doing just that. The vampires, or Kyn as they call themselves, have an entire society hidden within our own, and rather than being undead creatures, are actually a separate species. Marak, our males lead, is their king and being browbeaten by the leading council to settle down and take a mate. Maria is a half-breed who’s hell bent on revenge for her murdered sister. The story is their chance meeting and the adventures they have following that fateful encounter.
The characters were well formed and likable; relatable even. Many of Mrs. Carter’s books are short but heavy on spice. Though this book still certainly had spice, there was more story than steam. I rather liked this. It was really a perfect blend of her longer novels and her bite-sized novelettes. I enjoyed the build up to the relationship and was rather irate at the misunderstandings that both, to some degree, were at fault for. Thankfully, they get their happily ever after; so don’t fret.
If you like your romance to have bite, action, steam, scheming aristocrats, dangerous warriors, and brave females, this is a great book to pick up!
Good read..needed something but enjoyed
I liked it even as short as it was. I had one glaring issue…a 6 foot 5 inch muscled warrior would weigh quite a bit more than 200lbs! he would be closer to 250lbs at 200 he would be quite thin…too thin to have much muscle. Jason Momoa who is gorgeously built is about 6 foot 4 inches and at his fighting trim weighs 230, add another inch and you get more weight.
Too short. Very abrupt ending.
Oooo this makes me sooo want to be a supernatural
Love Mina Carter’s excellent world building and characters! Just wish her storylines were a little longer, more flushed out!! But I am hooked none the less!!
Interesting twist of your standard vampire fair. Original world building.
The author rushed to finish this book. Plot poorly developed
Great story. Enjoyed the interaction of Malek and Maria. I just wish that the story was a little longer.
I loved this book it really was very entertaining kept turning the page and sad that it was done
Author kept the book going without too much filler. Loved that it didn’t take the characters 40 chapters of going around the mountain to finally admit that they loved each other. Didn’t have time to get bored or wonder when the book will end.
good read
Nice light reading
Shorter story. Little rushed at the end.
The “Kyn Warrior” series by Mina Carter was very enjoyable. After downloading this, the first book from BookBub, I enjoyed it so much I downloaded the other two in the series, and looking forward to more when she gets them out.
“Blood Vow” was a good story right up to the end when I realized it was not a complete book but one part of a serial story. I don’t like being left hanging for the ending.
