Blood Trial is THE most fun I’ve had reading in a long time! I finished it, and immediately started begging for book two. Red hot enemies to lovers, a unique spin on vampire hierarchy, and a hilarious lead all add up to one thing. Don’t. Miss. This. Book.
I loved this book. From the moment that I started reading until the very last word was read I was hooked on it. I could not put it down and finished it in one sitting. It moves along at a great pace, has characters to die for, you cannot help but fall in love with them and you want to see them succeed in whatever their plan is. The story will grab you and keep you interested throughout the whole book. This is a must read, you sill not be sorry that you did.
This book was FANTASTIC! I’ve loved every single book I have read by this author, and I swear they just keep getting better and better! The world building was amazing as always with her books, all so unique and different, and I couldn’t get enough of them! The book starts a bit slow, building the world a bit, but once the good stuff starts coming, it really comes!
The humor in this was spot on! I legit was nonstop smiling the whole time I was reading. Witty comebacks, banters, and even just their actions, I loved it all! There wasn’t TOO much, which can sometimes be a books downfall, it was just right. This also has to be one of Kelly’s steamiest books yet, I’m sure because it’s a vampire book, and the chemistry was off the charts.
I loved how the heroine, Basila, was spoiled and beautiful and she knew it, and instead of it being annoying, it just added an extra (hilarious) layer. And Kyros and his attraction to her was legit the best. Another thing I love about Kelly’s books, is you can always expect to get all of the H, or him pining more after the heroine, while the heroine, just doesn’t have time for that! Love it!
The Darkest Drae has been my favorite series by Kelly, and I think one of my all time favorite fantasy/paranormal series, but with the way this one is going, it will probably be right up there too! I seriously wouldn’t change a thing, and I’m dying for the paperbacks to be up on my shelf! Can’t wait for the next one!!Kelly St. Clare
I’m OFFICIALLY addicted to this wonderful, witty new series! Basilia, or Basi has left the world of extreme wealth that she grew up in. After the death of her parents, her beloved grandmother raised her. However she’s now ventured into the cruel world alone and without money. Thankfully her BFF Tommy knows how life works without money and has become her defacto coach. How would they know a simple job interview would change every single aspect of her life? Basi knew from day one that something was off about everyone at this new job. She just had no clue just how right her intuition was until the night she’s attacked by her landlord and flees to get office for safety. What she discovers that night will change her life and relationships for good. This book is filed with witty humor and asides from our main girl Basi, tons of action/suspensr, political intrigue, and overgrown rich babies that are bored and playing dangerous games. I was hooked instantly and am greatly looking forward to book two!
Great Book! A little slow at the beginning but the more you read you get sucked into Basi world. It is very hard to put down!!
I really loved this book. I love Vampire books
especially about Vampire Royals, and attractions and desires that is intense and this book did not disappoint.
It was quite an interesting read (being up late at night/early morning) until I finished, I literally could not stop reading. Now I’m left wondering what is going to happen to Basi and Kyros and have to wait until January 2020 you say??
Now what am I supposed to do until then?
Blood Trial is the best paranormal romance — ever! With an alpha male vampire who oozes sensuality and an heiress turned pauper, this enemies to lovers has sizzling romantic tension that will steal your heart and leave you begging for your own vampire prince! Kelly St. Clare has written a fast-paced and addictive book with and an unpredictable plot, twists and turns galore, and did I mention a hot and sexy vampire? Well, he’s definitely worth mentioning again.
Blood Trial gives us a new heroine to root for in Basi, and a tantalizing glimpse of a hidden world beneath the one she’s so desperate to change.
Blood Trial: Supernatural Battle is Book 1 in the Vampire Towers series. This is a unique take on vampires. Kelly has created a truly awesome world with phenomenal characters. Loved everything about this book. It starts a little slow but then takes off at a breakneck aped. This is a fast paced, action filled, page turner that will keep you enthralled until a sudden stop at the cliffhanger ending. It has so much going for it — action, humor (laugh out loud at times), excitement, fantastic storyline, interesting and refreshing main characters (Basi & Kyros), etc. I am anxious for Book 2 (coming in January) to see what Kelly has in store for these characters and this world. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary review.
This book is amazing. I absolutely fell in love with the characters, as I always do with Kelly St. Clare’s books. I can’t get enough of the humor she brings to her writing. She is such a fun author to read and I always thoroughly enjoy the adventure she takes me on as a reader. I recommend this book to any read who wants to go on an exciting adventure with vampires. There are scenes more appropriate for a more mature audience. This book is unpredictable in the best way possible and broke down any boundaries I had put up in regards to vampires and wealthy socialites.
I love all of Kelly St Clare’s books and this series looks set fair to become a new favourite. Blood Trial provides a refreshing new take on the vampire myth and the premise of the story is both crazy and captivating. I always love Kelly St Clare’s characters and I utterly *adore* Basilia.
This is a step-up in heat to her earlier books, being new adult rather than YA (nothing explicit, though) and I absolutely loved the relationship development. It gave an excellent portrayal of a couple determined to get both head and heart in alignment before acting on their biological attraction (I’m making it sound dull – believe me, that’s the last word you’d apply to Blood Trial!).
Another winner – I can’t wait to read book two!
OMG! This book is so different from the usual stuff you get from Kelly but damn! The sexual tension in this book is so freaking real it’s ridiculous, I found my self dying to find out what comes next. I cannot wait to see what Kelly does next.
I am living for this series already, you will want the next in the series immediately! I’ve had a soft spot for Vampires ever since I was a teenager and read The Vampire Diaries many moons ago!
Blood Trial is about Basi who is escaping her life as an heiress and trying to live in the real world, she applies for a job at the impenetrable Live Right Realty and is introduced to a whole new world as a result.
Basi and Kyros have a snarky relationship and I’m loving their dialogue, I can’t wait to see how they develop as they are clearly meant for each other!
Can’t wait until the next one now!
I received an recommendation to read this book via Bookstagram and I went in blind not knowing anything about the book. The premise is that young Heiress, Basilica Le Spyre runs away from her guardian grandmother but knows nothing about the way society works. She has been brought up with a silver spoon in her mouth and doesn’t think before she jumps. The next thing she knows she is on the street with nothing but a few thousand dollars to her name and no knowledge of how to survive, where she is to sleep or where she can get a job for income. Fast forward to a break where she gets a job as a realty agent intern but things don’t seem right and she is spooked on her first day. Bad things start to happen and she is in the middle of a war between vampire clans that she knows nothing about.
This book is a wild ride that was much different than the normal vampire story. I loved the ingenuity of the backstory on the vampire war and I thought the game aspect of the story was very original. The book has a a very slow burn romance with betrayal and lies. There were a few things that kept me from giving this a 5 star review. I needed more information on Basi’s background and why she left. I also wanted to know more about her parents and grandmother since the whole reason she left was because of them. Basi could also be a bit annoying and immature when it came to things she knew nothing about. Overall I really enjoyed the story and I will be reading the next in the series. I give this book 4.5 stars
Last year I started St. Clare’s Supernatural Battle: Werewolf Dens series and completely fell in love. Some of the characters from her Vampire Towers series make an appearance in the Werewolf Dens series so I knew that I had to read that one next. In all honesty, I hadn’t realized that the Vampire Towers and Werewolf Dens series were set in the same world or I may have read Vampire Towers first. Nonetheless, I knew before starting the Vampire Towers series that I was in for a real treat because her Werewolf Dens series blew me away!
If there is something to be said of Kelly St. Clare’s books, it is that her writing is phenomenal! She is truly a master storyteller with top-notch writing skills. The superb quality of her writing caught my notice straight away. Her writing style has an incomparable, first-rate caliber that makes the reader fall effortlessly into her stories. Her writing style is polished and easy to read. The world-building is very encompassing and it is so easy to see yourself through the characters’ eyes. I loved the author’s take on vampires. I think that it is very creative and I liked all of the world-building that the author used to create her mythos. The plot of the story was well planned out and executed perfectly. There was great foreshadowing and suspense. I was so enthralled that I could hardly pull myself away from the story.
I love the way that St. Clare is able to endear the reader to the characters with such ease. And not just the main character, but the entire ensemble of characters feel significant to the reader. I instantly liked Basi’s character. I adored her personality and I really enjoyed her character growth in the story. She has a very enchanting personality that you can’t help but gravitate towards. Basi faces many struggles in the book and I very much enjoyed her journey. I didn’t connect with Kyros’s character as much, but I did start to really like him a lot towards the end. His character development was very slow and steady. The reader gradually gets to know him throughout the story. It was easy to see his protective instincts and his propensity for kindness even if he had to make tough decisions to protect those around him. I am eager to see even more of his personality unfold in the next book. I really enjoyed the close friendship that Basi had with her best friend Tommy. I also loved the bond that Basi formed with Laurel and the other indebted vampires. The other vampire royals, Kyros’s siblings, were kind of hard to tell apart at first but I did enjoy their parts of the story. They added a lot of depth to the story and I love the possibilities that their presence creates in the story. Each of Kyros’s brothers felt very distinctive and I am eager to get to know them better in the next book. I didn’t feel as connected to Kyros’s sister but I am sure that there will be more of them in the next book.
At first, the romance in the story had a bit of an instalust vibe to it which I typically steer clear of. I could get on board with it in this book though because the reason behind that was tied into some of the supernatural elements of the story. Since the instalust was justified by the paranormal elements it was easier to digest. Prior to the instalust taking hold, Basi and Kyros did have encounters with one another and those were deliciously spiked with sexual tension in the sweetest enemies-to-lovers vibe. I enjoyed their banter and defiant attitude towards each other. Their chemistry was clear from the start. Kyros had a possessive streak about him that was pretty sexy at times. And again, some of that played into the supernatural circumstances of the story but not all of it was tied to that. Some of it was just Kyros’s personality, his tendency, and predilection for being protective of those around him. I think that their tension around each other eases a bit as they start to get to know each other. They are still keeping a lot of secrets from each other though so I don’t know how well that bodes for their relationship going forward. They definitely have some things to work out in the next book but they certainly have a foundation for a relationship and the chemistry to back it up.
Overall, this book has a unique take on vampires with an exciting plot and compelling characters. If paranormal books are your jam and you have a passion for expert storytelling then this series should be your next stop on your TBR. St. Clare tells a spellbinding story that you can’t help but latch on to and devour entirely. I am so hooked on her writing and I can’t wait for more!

This book is sooo good and it just sucks you in!
It has a very original representation of the vampire society, hierarchy and dealings.
Basilia is so strong, resourceful and brave. She leaves all the family fortune behind to make it on her own and that’s really admirable.
Kyros is loyal, protective and he’ll do absolutely everything to protect the ones he cares about. And quite possessive when it comes to Basi.
I loved their relationship – the attraction and desires are very intense and their chemistry is unmatched.
I really liked the secondary characters, too. The vampire royals of Clan Sundulus are such fun!
The story is fantastic – fast-paced and filled with action, drama, secrets, suspense, tension, humor, witty comebacks and amazing characters!
I loved every page of it!
Oh this book was so good. I absolutely loved it. The audiobook is fantastic! The narrator, Amanda Dolan did a wonderful job portraying all of the characters and she brought the book to another level.
I enjoyed the world that the author created with the colors and the game. It was a fun spin and I don’t think I’ve come across anything like this so it was completely unique to me. If you enjoy enemy to lovers paranormal romance, be sure to check this series out.
This was truly one of my favorite series I’ve read over and over again. Who doesn’t love a sexy Alpha vampire yum Kyros is definitely a panty soaking scary as sin vampire. This is a must read
a truly intriguing new twist in vampire romance.
What a ride. I could not put this book down. This book had all the good stuff you want in a book. Fighting and romance all there. I can not wait to see how things go after this ending. I Think they know who she is…… I wish I would not have read so fast. So,so good.
