Job—crap!
I’ve bitten off more than I can chew, but that’s the least of my worries.
My city is a giant board game. The players are supernatural— freakin’ vampires—including an overbearing crown prince whose unwanted attention could spell my demise.
Now, I must play their deadly game, or my grandmother and best friend will pay the ultimate price.

This one was hard to get in to, the first 20-25% just dragged for me. Basi decides to turn her back on her families money and make her way on her own. She and her best friend Tommy are great, I really enjoyed their friendship. Basi ends up getting a job at an place full of vampires. Will be interested inn seeing where things go in book 2.
Author provided me with the arc of this book but my review is my own honest opinion.
I am a long time fan of Kelly St. Clare and was excited for the opportunity to read her newest book early. Her take on sexy vampires? Yes! I was once again overjoyed to find a story filled with funny dialogue and interesting characters. I also am a fan of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series and it reminded me of it with it’s large cast. I can already imagine all the side stories splitting off from this first book. The world that she has created in this one is similar to ours but quite different and it is so intriguing you want to know more about how it all works. I cannot wait for the next book but be warned it does have a cliffhanger ending.
Good for people who: enjoy fun slow burn paranormal romance, like no nonsense men
A Fantastic read. If you like The supernatural this is definitely one I recommend. Its a real page turner, and had me on the edge of my seat. The scenes are written so well that the Aurhor has brought a home run on this read. I definitely recommend this read.

Blood Trial: Supernatural Battle (Vampire Towers #1)
I found this quite slow going initially but once the story did pick up I thoroughly enjoyed it! I love a good Vampire read & if it’s got a new spin on the old Lore all the better, this has an intriguing one.
The City the story is based in is actually a huge ‘player’ in the games the different factions are playing in. Its residents, businesses & the like are tantamount to chess pieces!!
Basilia is hugely rich heiress that loathes the way the rich elite corral all the best property, foods, medical care etc etc for themselves & keep the less well off downtrodden! Its always been an issue for her, even though she’s heiress to one of the richest estates in the World! After another argument with her Grandmother, who she loves with all her heart, she decides that escaping her current life & living on her own terms is what she has to do. She hopes to learn from the ground up, so when the time comes, she’ll know how best to rebalance the wealth disparity!!
Her bestfriend, Tommy, who isn’t rich, helps her. She gets a job, as an entry level Realtor, a cheap apartment & furnishings. The other employees make her extremely uncomfortable! She decides to tough it out until she can find another job. She’s too embarrassed to tell Tommy how bad it is, she feels like she’s failing at her first hurdle. Tommy is her hero, she’s tough but feminine, she’s so together even without the benefits Basi has had!
After falling short on her rent, her scummy Landlord attacks her!! After running in terror she ends up at the Tower where she works figuring she can spend the night there, safe at last!! Unfortunately she sees something she’ll never be able to unsee & it’ll change her life forever!!
It was from that point onwards the story really picked up. The hotness level skyrocketed. As did the fear & heart break for Basi!! I can’t wait for book #2!

This book is such a tease!!!!! In a very good way!!! Many times I closed the kindle thinking “WTF.” The story kept me 100% interested the whole time! I absolutely recommend this book and can’t wait for the 2nd installment to come out!
2 stars . Kind of boring, immature characters. Couldn’t finish this book.
I loathe vampires and sneer at NA. This book changed my mind. Sizzling chemistry, witty repartee between the Heroine and Hero, original world building, a fabulous cast of characters. I’m just pissed I have to wait till Jan for book 2. One click this.
I love unique twists on mainstream genres.
Kelly St. Clare had my blood pumping with anticipation in BLOOD TRIAL, book one in her new vampire series. The chemistry between Basi and Kyros is off the charts, even more so as they resist the pull (and blood thrall they’re forced to exchange and share in).
The different vampire clans, royals, and high stakes game make for an exciting story unlike any I’ve read before.
I’m ready to roll the dice and see where they land in the next book!
This is a story worth reading, it grips the reader from the very beginning till the end and have all the ingredients to a great story: a complete out of the world heroine, a badass guy, mystery, and lots of fun. Looking forward to reading the next one.
