“She got away from the Blackthorne vampires, but they still want her blood.” Absolutely loved this. Well written, and well thought out plot. So many emotions. You really feel for the characters. Does have a cliffhanger, but so worth it.
that’s the fastest I’ve listened to an audiobook in a long time. Started it last night. Finished it today and that cliffhanger holy shit. Okay onto the third and final book.
4 stars for Blood Traitor by Kim Loraine. This is book two in the Blood trilogy. This is part of the Blackthorne Vampire series. This book picks up right after book one. Cashel and Olivia are separated. Olivia is at a loss on whether or not to believe anything Cashel ever told her. Cashel is being tortured for his crimes. I am loving how this story is building. It is full of twists, love triangles, and suspense . It also has lots of steamy parts so don’t worry. I am looking forward to reading Blood Heir.
Blood Traitor picks up where Blood Captive left off, and this continuation of Cashel and Olivia’s story is full of twists and turns- power struggles, new characters at play, and let’s not forget the love triangle!
Cashel’s siblings are more likable in this book than in Blood Traitor, but I’m not sure if that’s because of the new (new to me, at least) characters at play that I just happen to love to hate.
I’m not a fan of love triangles, except in cases like this one where (we think) we know who belongs with whom and we just see how it all plays out. However, unlike most love triangles, there is a twist on this one. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Narrators Aaron Shedlock and Emma Wilder, once again, were amazing as Cashel and Olivia.
Blood Traitor is a contemporary paranormal romance written in dual first-person POV and performed in dual narration. It’s the second book in a trilogy and ends in a cliffhanger.

Blood Traitor
The Blackthorne Vampires, Book 2
By: K. Loraine
Narrated by: Aaron Shedlock, Emma Wilder
The Blackthorne Vampires just keep getting better! Book 2 of this series picks up right at the end of the first book and is action packed! The struggle for power is evident, and the Blackthorne siblings are unable to take the throne. Olivia is falling for Logan, but never lets go of her love for Cashel and then the unthinkable happens. Fast paced, suspenseful, dangerous and just kept me wanting more! There are characters I love, and others I love to hate! A twist with the love triangle keeps things exciting and wondering how things will play out. And some surprises just creating more questions that I need answers for. There is a cliffhanger, so I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the last of the trilogy, Blood Heir to see how things all wrap up!
Aaron Shedlock and Emma Wilder continue their narration of this fantastic story. Shedlock is Cashel, with every breath. He exudes the emotions this vampire is going through. Wilder enhances the narration with her impassioned portrayal of Olivia. This poor girl is pulled in all directions, and Wilder nails all the scenes with ease. The two create a world for us to feel all the feels, from despair to anger to hopelessness to love. It’s amazing.

*KU Read
Olivia and Cashel are back with our second book. I feel like I was lucky enough to find these books after all three books have been released, I don’t know if I could have waited for the wait. We start where the first one ended, so you will have to read them in order. So all I am going to say is that the ending of the first one was a sad cliffy and that now everyone is fighting to get back to the beginning. Take how that is.
Olivia is about to learn some interesting things, but she will have to remember where it comes from and hopefully come to terms with how that will shape her future. Cashel also has some information coming his way and he will have to survive it and hope that he can find his one true love in time so that he can remind each of them that it is them against the world.
I have to say sometimes the middle book is just a filler, Blood Traitor is not. This book was fast past, information-based, and had love between the two main characters that you hope to see throughout.
Book 2 carries on from where book 1 ended, yes that cliff hanger and it doesn’t get less angsty for a while, does it at all? I’m not sure as the vamps are still desperate to keep Olivia! There’s danger everywhere and surprises.
Cashel, really catches you in this book, just in case he didn’t in book 1. I found I liked his siblings a lot more in this book. Some of the other characters are horrid though.
Logan the vampire hunter was nice but no Cashel.
I loved Olivia and Cashel’s growing connection and how protective they are of each other.
The book ends on another cliffy though, so book 3 can’t be kept waiting too long.

Ugh, how can things get worse!
Cash is in the hands of the council
Olivia is in the hands of the Hunters
A ruler viler than the one they so valiantly slew
seeks to sit upon the Blackthorne thrown
The past is destroying any chance of a future
Olivia, I’m a bit angry with you.
You capitulated a bit too quickly you should have believed!
Cash hang in there
This end on a seriously twisted cliffhanger
Make sure you have a few hours to do nothing else when you start reading this book because you won’t be able to put it down once you start reading. Twists, turns, drama, suspense, betrayal and lots of action keep you completely invested in this story. Make sure you have read the first book in the series before diving into this one. I CANNOT wait for the final book in this series!!!
This is the second book in the Blackthorne Vampres Series. I love this Series! You have to read the first book in the Series before this one. The story continues where the first book ended. Cashel and Olivia story is well written, complex, fast-paced, suspenseful, and filled with mystery, danger, and twists and turns. I love their chemistry. The story ends with a big cliffhanger! Now, I can’t wait for the next book in the Series to know what happens next!
Cashel Blackthorne took me captive.
I hated him.
I wanted him.
I fell for him.
Then everything I knew changed.
I got away from the Blackthorne vampires, but they still want my blood. Living a nomadic life with a band of hunters, I learned how to fight and how to defend myself.
Now I’m torn between the deep feelings I’ve developed for my captor and the new attraction I have for Logan, the rugged hunter who came for me.
Cashel Blackthorne may have taken my heart, but he also taught me a lesson…
Never trust a vampire.
Why? Why oh why Kim did you leave this on a cliffhanger? That is just cruel and mean… seriously who does that? I don’t not like cliffhangers… I despise them!
‘Blood Traitor’ is book 2 of Kim Loraine’s The Blackthorn Vampires Series, continues to follow Cashel and Olivia’s story. What I really love about Kim’s work is that her books always seem to have appearances from characters from different books which I really enjoy, I love getting to see glimpses into what the characters are getting up to after their stories have been told. To understand what I’m talking about you will have had to read ‘Forever Claimed’ which is written by Kim for the Midnight Coven group. ‘Forever Claimed’ was based on Mattias and Elaine which both made appearances in this book at the coronation. Thank you Kim for letting me see how those two are going. Anyway back to this book…
This book starts where ‘Blood Captive’ ends with Cashel being taken by the council and Olivia with Logan.
Once again both Cashel and Olivia have obstacles in their way, keeping them from each other, as well as having doubt that what they felt for each other was real. You thought that Cashel and Olivia would be safe and happy together now that Elias was dead, but there is a whole new kind of sinister working against them now.
Cashel is locked up by the council waiting for his sentencing for being a traitor by killing his father and brother for a human. In the meantime Olivia is with the Hunters.
Poor, poor Cash. This vampire has and is still going through hell for Liv. He isn’t just trying to fight for his freedom, he is trying to keep his family safe and Liv, as well as fighting against two “ghosts” from his and Elias’ past.
I have to admit I was annoyed and frustrated with Olivia in this book. There were moments I was screaming at her to pull her head out of her a** and listen to what is being said to her. But she is one very STUBBORN woman.
I enjoyed going on this adventure with Olivia and Cashel. There were so many obstacles they had to overcome. At times I wasn’t sure if the the two would come get through it but they did even if just barely. Their story ends with tantalizing cliffhanger. I look forward to finding out what happens next in their journey.
Oh, if you thought the first book left you with anxiety, you will not want to read this unless you are extremely relaxed. You may need a glass of wine, or two, or three. I was at the edge of my seat (or bed) while reading. Everything between Olivia and Cash starts getting even more dangerous and you don’t know who to trust. There are twists and turns you won’t see coming, even with knowing a little about the Hawthorne vampires. I loved that we hear about some of the vampires we’ve read about in the Vampire Bride books and how the stories interconnect. I can’t wait for the next book because the ending of this one left me reeling.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kim Loraine knocks this book out of the park! The push an pull of Cashel and Olivia. The betrayal, the hurt, the lust and the love. There is so much emotion weaving in an out of this story. So many forces at play. And with the new Queen in town, no one knows what to expect. There are certainly things that I never saw coming that constantly kept me on my toes. I was completely enamored from beginning to end. Always wanting to know what was going to happen next. Having those literal shock and awe moments where would gasp and be holding my breath until the next sentence.
As always Kim Loraine blows me away with her beautiful story telling. Her stunning way with words that paint an incredibly enticing scene before my eyes. A story I escape to and fall in love with.
A huge 5 stars!
Oh my?! What did I just read!! The suspense and drama is 10-fold in this book. This story was even more captivating than the first one, it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time wanting to know what happened. Olivia tried to escape and move on but she just keeps being dragged back into the drama. Cashel he’s hurt and disappointed and he should MoveOn but he can’t move passed his feelings for Olivia. This book like the first book ends in a cliffhanger. I can’t wait for the third installment!!
Oh.my.god!! It was like an emotional rollercoaster the entire time! Buckle up because it’s a bumpy ride. Olivia, Logan and Cashel make one strange “love” triangle. I say “love” because someone’s feelings of love might be unrequited. Not telling who! Read it and find out!!! It’s definitely worth it. More cliffhanger, so be warned. You might scream at your reading device…
5 stars!!!!
Book two in the series picks up where book one ended. Told in the dual POV,the author once again delivers a page turner filled with twists, turns and tons of action as well as the continuing suspense and sexual tension. I was captured and held right to the end and left with wanting more with the cliffhanger ending. Loved it !! Looking forward to the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Blood Traitor is book two in the series. I really liked it. So much went on in this one. I loved Cashel and Olivia. I am dying for the next one!
