Blood to Fire (Red Slaves Book 2) by Tonya Cannariato takes place a month after the end of the first book so I highly recommend reading this series in order. It thrusts us back into the world of dragons and magic that we came to know in the last book and expands on it even further. The plot was well written and kept me entertained from start to finish. Watching Anna and Ivan grow together was one of my favorite parts especially once she stopped fighting the idea of being mated. With plenty of action, drama, and suspense this book will have you on the edge of your seat. I am giving this book a four star rating and I am looking forward to seeing where the characters go from here.
Blood to Fire (Red Slaves) by Tonya Cannariato was a great continuation to what is quickly becoming a addicting, unique series.
Picking up a month after the first book ends, we are once again tossed back into this new, yet old world of dragons and trying to find out what is causing their abilities to be dampered (AKA, not being able to shift into their other forms).
Okay I’m going to real, after coming off the high of the first book, and that explosive ending, I wasn’t feeling the first little bit of this book. It was a slow start, and I do understand the reason for it, especially for Anne, but there are some parts that were rushed, then slow, then, okay, the pacing is a little messy. I think I get why it was done this way, as dragon time and human time are not in sync. I’m not a hug fan of that writing style, just because things tend to get left tout or over looked. But that was more present at the start of the book, as the story went on and the plot started to get underway, the pacing evened out and it was easy sailing.
I loved Anne and Ivan as a couple. Sure they are trying to figure things out, because of the whole being mated thing, but in all they were cute. More so Ivan, that man is freaking adorable. Anne wasn’t all that on bored at first, and in truth I wanted to shake the shit out of her for not seeing how perfect of a partner he was. That man is a saint, just for the amount of patiences he has for her. Cause I tell you, I don’t. I was getting so frustrate with her. And the questions, my god that girl can asks questions. She was so consumed with trying to explain away the magic, and what she was going through instead of embracing it, and you know, going with the flow of things, and just accepting that there are things that can not be… explained away.
Overall, I am thoroughly enjoying this series and its take on dragons. It has taken something old, and twisted into something not only new, but original. So take my high recommendation that you’ll be sucked into this mythical world were anything is possible.
I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book! I am wholeheartedly invested.
Happy Reading

Blood to Fire in the Red Slaves Series by Tonya Cannariato is the second installment. Ms. Cannariato has spiced things up a bit. This is a fantasy paranormal story with plenty of magic, dragons, drama, KGB and a dash of romance. Being this is the second book I would recommend reading Dust to Blood which is the first book in the series. The writing style of Ms. Cannariato will captivate you and leaving you wanting more. The story is a continuation of Anne and Ivan. They are still learning about their abilities and how to control them. There is so much to look forward to that I do not want to give the story away. I cannot wait to read the next book to see the continuation of Anne’s story.
4 Stars
Blood to Fire is the second book in the Red Slaves Series by Tonya Cannariato. This is a fantastic paranormal/fantasy- with action, danger, drama, magic, dragons, KGB, romance, and intrigue. Being the second book in the series, and having a continuing storyline, I really recommend reading the first story before jumping into this one. As with the first book, this story had so much going on in it. I loved the authors descriptive style and her attention to detail. She is a superb storyteller, with a flare for unique and memorable storylines.
This book picks up after the events in the previous book. Anne and Ivan are still coming to terms with what happened and are still learning about/how to control their powerful abilities. I really loved these characters, although Anne did frustrate me at times with her though processes and denial. This story had more surprises in store too, which made for captivating reading. This is a dragon lore/Dragon story lover’s dream- with a difference that will keep you hooked till the end!
Looking forward to Book #3!
Thank you, Ms. Cannariato
Yes! Book 2 of the Red Slaves series is all I wanted and more! Anna has uncovered more questions than answers about her case involving Ivan and herself. Ivan is a dragon and its pretty clear Anna is dead set against discovering her own draconian heritage but time is of the essence and only by embracing her new self and her new mate will she be able to help those who need it most. The new KGB is determined to enslave Russian dragons once more to bring the Communists back to their former might and glory. Can anything stop them?
It’s actually quite refreshing to be able to dive back into a world and have it feel like you are home. That’s exactly what Blood to Fire by Tonya Cannariato feels like.
I enjoyed revisiting Anne as well as her new mate Ivan, as they learn their new lives and with it, all that it entails. It was quite a thrilling journey to have to maintain their safety, as well as having to ensure the safety of all of their kind.
Like with the first book in this series, the author was able to maintain my attention with a well written storyline, as well as well-developed characters. I most definitely enjoyed their journey. I definitely consider this a 4 Star Book!
a great read about something new. After the events of the last book, Anne struggles to deal with how there is more to the world. with the help of new friends, she tries to deal with new abilities whilst hiding from some powerfuk enemies who want to make them slaves. as theier enemeis hunt them down, eill they be able to find safe haven before it is too late?
great read. a well developed plot with twists and turns where the stakes are higher. well developed characters as Anne learns who she is and a set of new powers or Ivan being a patient teacher whilst still protecting the dragons. also a great set of creepy villians that are darker and more dangerous. withoit being melodramatic. once again a brilliant combination of fantasy of dragons and magic set in realism of the world and the KGB. a brilliant example of building upon the first novel with new aspects of magic and different worlds and dragons and wise women which were excellently wirtten with a sense of wonder. the only issue i would raise is that was some repetition in places. i appreciated that Anne was curious about this new world,, but sometimes it could be reduced. overall, a great read and i would give it four stars.
Blood to Fire (Red Slaves Book 2)

5 out of 5 stars
The story Blood to Fire (Red Slaves Book 2) by Tonya Cannariato is a paranormal/fantasy book. It is the continuation of a story that has plenty of action, danger, and characters that you will not soon forget. This book has Anne Crosby and Ivan Krempenski trying to find out more about themselves. They face situations that are very challenging while trying to stay one step ahead of the FSK. I enjoyed reading the stories and legends that are revealed. Anne is a woman who has doubts about the role she finds herself in. She is also discovering she has new talents/abilities. Will these abilities help her with her research? She is adapting to her new status as Ivan’s mate. Ivan knows what he wants and that is Anne. He is patient, caring and protective of her. Anne and Ivan find themselves on an important mission that involves the survival of their line. Read to find out what happens on this mission and if they are successful. I enjoyed reading this book just as much as the first. Books in the paranormal/fantasy genre are one of my favorites and this series is an example of the reason why. I enjoyed reading about many of the secondary characters in the story and how they assist Anne and Ivan. Most of them were introduced in the first book, however, there are new ones that you meet. This is a well-written story that will have you turning pages to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
Blood to Fire is a paranormal fantasy by Tonya Connariato and the second book in the Red Slaves series (make sure to read Dust to Blood first!). Anne has been in Russia researching Ivan, a man with extraordinary powers, and has discovered that he is not only a dragon but that she is too. Now they are in hiding trying control their abilities and avoid being enslaved by the KGB who wants their powers. Can these mates find safety for themselves and their kind? Can the scientist in Anne come to terms with the unexplainable? This was a great follow up to the first book, the story transitions flawlessly from book to book and the characters stay true to the people you meet in book one. This book was full of magic and wonder and I would recommend this series to any fantasy fan! I look forward to seeing what Tonya Connariato has in store for the next installment of the Red Slaves series.
This is the second book in this series. In this next installment of this series, Annie’s journeys take her to Russia where she finds out more about herself and the men she has been investigating. I felt compassion for her because she is in such denial about who she is but she is a character that keeps you wanting to read more. The secondary characters are just as enjoyable and relateable. I highly suggest reading this book, find out where Annie’s adventure takes her next.
