Dark telling of how Maddox got his immortality. Demons, the ritual, and unwanted immortality. Very emotional, gore drenched and visceral, Maddox’ choice does not turn out as he wishes.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Heart racing twists, exciting action packed moments and emotionally thrilling twists make up this darkly thrilling adventure filled with dangerous and engaging charters, witty banter and spine tingling intrigue. Great reading.
I really enjoyed this story about Maddox and how he ends up with immortality. It was interesting and entertaining and a quick read. It made me laugh and want more. interesting glimpse of a world and their beliefs.
This is the story of the character introduced in the Isabella Hush series first book: Rune Thief.
He is a warrior who fights demons. He has remained a virgin and has battled demons and is now entitled to a long life extension.
I won’t go into details because I hate spoilers but suffice it to say not everything goes as planned.
This book kept me reading and kept my attention. My only problem with it was it ended far too soon. I wanted to know more. I wanted more Maddox. I’m hoping that there will be more stories about Maddox’s past because I feel like there is so much more for us to learn about him.
I received a complimentary copy of this book.
Maddox grew up studying magic from other worlds and practicing fighting. He has fought for the monks to gain long lives by killing demons. This is the second time he has won and he wants his 50 years…instead they offer him immortality at a cost. He wants no part of it! His father serves on the order but he had nothing to do with raising any of his offspring. The monks hold Lilith within a stone and the stone grants each person sent to Hell a specific power. Denied the loss of his innocence, he must travel to Hell to regain his brother and sister, stop his father from going and most of all to get some of the devil’s blood for the stone! Will he succeed or fail? How will he get back? What will going back cost him? This is the beginning of a series…I received this as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A delicious story filling in the story of the character introduced in the Isabella Hush series first book: Rune Thief. It helps to understand Maddox’s background and just how rich the history behind his existence. Maddox has to make choices of personal sacrifices versus the wellbeing of the worlds in which he lives. Excellent adventure. Not for people who are uncomfortable with tales of demons and hell. I read an advance copy of this title and this is the review.
I really enjoyed this book! It’s a quick read but very well written and loved reading about Maddox. Thea Atkinson is a great author and one of my favorites!!! Highly recommend!!! (Received this as an arc and leaving a voluntary honest review)
I loved this story! It’s a quick read with wonderful characters and getting to know Maddox’s back story was great! Highly recommended!
Absolutely loved reading the back story on Maddox. This a quick read, but one you absolutely should read. Maddox story can be read alone, but you will definitely love and appreciate this story all the more if you start when the previous books. The world created is enticing, exciting and easily relatable.
A fighter, Maddox was a demon fighter and warrior fighter with special abilities. His sister and brother was in hell by Lucifer and he was going after them. Many things happen and the goal to get them home wasn’t working and Lucifer wasn’t about to let anyone leave hell. Good storytelling, good reading.
Interesting world and characters! I found it easy to slip into this world and live amongst the inhabitants. I could easily identify with them as well. I had a lot of fun reading this and I look forward to more!
Omg! I loved loved loved! Although this is a quick read and can be read without reading books 1 and 2 it is so nice to get Maddox back story. And what a story it is!. I can not wait to find out more about Maddox
