His blood sings for hers.TOVEN ~Musical genius. Bloodthirsty monster. I was both, sometimes one more than the other. The bloodthirst was my curse. Songwriting was my joy. I hated what I was, so I shut myself away from the world and embraced darkness. It worked fine for nearly a hundred years. But it seemed the world was no longer content to let me be a recluse selling my songs from the shadows. … my songs from the shadows. They demanded I step into the light and join the land of the living.
CELESTA ~
College student. Orphan. I was one, then the other. Tragedy snatched everything from me and left me with so many questions. So, I devised a dangerous plan to sell the only thing of value I had left, myself, to a vampire. All in order to uncover the truth. I was leaving one nightmare for another to overcome my misfortune.
Can a monster turn into her dream come true?
Can a mere girl inspire new melodies for a world-renowned lyricist?
NOTE: This is book ONE in Toven and Celesta’s story.

What a fabulous sexy sensual take on a vampire romance!! I simply adore tevon!!! He is a uber, brooding hero and reminds me of the dark hero’s I came to love when I started reading gothic romances as a young girl. He has a commanding presence and it adds to his overall appeal factor for me. And celesta though innocent and sweet, is a strong female lead who isn’t afraid of her feelings or the sexual attraction that she has for tevon. The steam factor is just right for the start of this new relationship and it’s starting to build hotter and I got a feeling it’s gonna be a scorcher by the time these two come together. Charli B.Rose is also a great storyteller and I love this new fresh take on this vampire paranormal romance,it’s a great modern up to date world were vampires have not only thrived, but are fitting into the social media world as well. Tevon and celesta’s story continues in Blood Song: Refrain (Blood Song Series Book 2) out in September!!! I can’t wait!! Until next time luv’s
I loved this book. Toven is everything I want in a vampire: broody, mysterious, handsome, tortured. A recluse in his beautiful mansion, living only for his music, he yearns for more but has no idea how to relate to the modern world. Enter Celesta, an innocent human dealing with tragedy and seeking answers to her father’s death, and his world turns on its axis. The chemistry between these two characters is instantaneous. Both carry secrets which hinder their ability to be honest about their interest in one another. This story is full of secrets, some of which we learn as we read, but some I can only infer about which tear me up. This is a slow burn novel. I loved this idea of vampires hiding in plain sight in this world. It is a refreshing take on a frequently used theme (vampires), that kept me from putting the book down. I cannot wait to see where the next book takes these two seemingly star crossed loves. Will time run out? Will the secrets destroy a budding relationship? What happens next? I need to know. A great story.
Blood song: Prelude is the first book of the series and not a standalone. This is the start of an amazing paranormal romance. Toven is a vampire and I think a bit indifferent. He still has his passion, music, but has had a hard time seeing the importance of changing with technology. Celesta has had a rough go of it lately. She has suffered a horrible loss which has her confused and in search of answers. This search leads her to meet Toven. They both need each other for different reasons. The thing I love most about this author is her incorporation of music into her books and her ability to make you feel the emotions and get totally invested in the characters. I felt the chemistry between the hero and heroine at first meeting, I felt Celesta’s desire for Toven and his desire for her. I really felt for Toven and his restraint. You know there a bigger reason for it, more than the usual “blood lust” restraint, if that makes sense. I felt bad for Celesta and her insecurity when it comes to Toven and herself. Just like with this author’s other books, she leaves you screaming for more, I really screamed at the end . Again, as with her other books, this series will be a go to reread for me. I loved it so much! I can’t wait for next one!
This is a first book in a three book trilogy and OMG it is Amazing. I don’t read much paranormal romance but this one is very well written and draws you in from the first word till the last. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
Ive read a few paranormal/fantasy books but this one…WOW!! I’m still reeling from the hangover. Charli B Rose’s take on Vampires and how they counteract with humans is very HOT, yet Romantic as well. The relationship between Toven and Celesta is off-the-charts intense and makes me feel for them both in different ways. I seriously can’t wait to find out how they work through the challenges of their pasts (especially Toven) and if he can accept his feelings for Celesta and stop pushing her away.
This is the first book in a trilogy and sets the scene for what’s to come. Can you say cliffhanger? Cause you’d be right. This book ends with one and let me tell ya, its a doozy. Thankfully we wont have to wait long for the next book so thats a definite plus.
Happy Reading Everyone
Oh and I recieved an early copy of this book for my honest review. And I can honestly say I recommend everyone giving this book a try, especially if your a fan of paranormal.
I enjoyed reading this paranormal romance, the relationship between vampire and human was intriguing and pulls you in. Toven interested in music, has been around a while and going through the motions until a random bump into a stranger, Celesta. Celesta has been through some things and trying to figure out the truth, she takes a job that will hopefully put her in the right direction to find it. Toven and Celesta have instant chemistry and a connection that is hard to deny. This story takes you on a whirlwind journey of Toven being awaken and Celesta opening herself up. The use of music by Charli B. Rose in this story adds another element and brings the story to life. I cannot wait for the second part that comes out soon, but not soon enough. Definitely take the chance on Toven and Celesta, you want be disappointed.
I loved Chari’s books about Dawson and Izzy, this book is totally different in theme, but absolutely amazing. Based in a world where vamipres and humans can coexist, makes you wonder who’s really lurking in our world.
You get the two main characters POVs, which I love because you get to see what they each think of their situation.
Toven Adams is a musician, he’s also a vamp, a vamp in need of upping his game to get his music out there. He gives in going the elite B.I.T-10 to hire the right woman fo the job. Never in his wildest dreams did he think it would lead him to Celesta. She’s a temptation that really hard to exist, but it appears Toven has a heart.
Celesta Winston is broke, down on her luck, and out to uncover the facts and the truth behind her father’s death. All roads seem to lead to someone at B.I.T-10, but they also lead to the handsome Toven who she’s smitten with upon first glance. Time to pull up her big girl panties and step-up to get what she needs. She never imagined she’d have feelings so strong for a vampire.
Will they both get more than they ever thought they needed?
Or will it all backfire and end in tears?
I can’t wait to see what happens next in Blood Song: Refrain
Paranormal is not my jam.
I read this though since I do love the author.
It was a very very good book. The end left us wanting more! I can’t wait until the next book is released. Then we can have more of Toven and Celesta.
I can’t say I’ll read a ton more paranormal but I did like this book.
Blood Song: Prelude is a fresh take on an old story. It’s book one of the Blood Song series. I occasionally read paranormal romance and was awed by this powerful, romantic first paranormal novel. Book two will hopefully showcase the growing attachment of the two main characters. I can’t wait to see if their undeniable chemistry and physical attraction will overcome their differences and transform Celesta and Toven’s troubling relationship into the beautiful love story they deserve.
I was given an advance reader copy of this book, and am voluntarily offering my honest opinion.
I loved it, so much so that I bought the book.
This is part 1 of a series of 3.
It’s well written and easy to follow. The story pulled me in almost immediately.
Toven is a singer/ songwriter. He’s also a vampire. He’s been writing songs for almost two centuries. But his image needs work. He needs a marketing genius to get him out into the world of social media.
Celesta is trying to finish college to get her degree in marketing. Both her parents are deceased. The most recent being her father. She’s lost everything. All of her father’s assets were seized after his death. She’s broke.
They meet by chance. She bumps into him literally. Their second meeting goes a lot smoother.
Can Toven resist the urge to take Celesta the way he dreams to? Can Celesta convince Toven he’s not the monster he says he is? Can a vampire love a human?
