After what happened in the last book, Fane and Jacque are eager to complete the blood rites ceremony. The day of the ceremony Jacque, along with her loyal sidekicks and her mom, pack into their car and head of to where the ceremony will take place. On the way though, the unthinkable happens. Can Jacque and Fane not catch a break?
I liked how Loftis used the third person perspective in the first novel, but absolutely loved it in this one! The first book focused on Jacque and Fane, but Blood Rites expanded on the more minor characters, which actually became a lot less minor. The reader was able to find out a whole lot more about Jen, Sally, and even Decebel. Not only that, but there was even a focus on the “bad guy” and it was very cool to get to see what was going on in his mind.
I am very excited about the next installment in this series, Just One Drop. I have it on hold at the library and am currently numero uno in line! It will focus more on Jen and the bombshell she was told at the end of Blood Rites. Also included will be Jen’s favorite snarky wolf…Decebel.
This is book 2 in The Grey Wolves series must be read in order to fully enjoy. This book is about Fane and Jacque and if they will finally get to be together. The story is full of laughter and some suspense. The characters are funny and will have you asking for more about them. Can’t wait to read more about all of the characters in this series.
Highly recommend this book super funny and if you haven’t read the first one yet you must read that one frost before you start this one
All of Quinn Loftis’ books are fantastic! The characters and world that she has built make you with shifters were real. The wit, & sassiness of her female characters have you wishing you could hang out with them for an evening!
Awesome series! Must Read!
I couldn’t get enough, I’m addicted to this series and all of the spin offs.
Loved this book, it’s so full of passion, wonderful characters that I’m getting to know better and better. Like Jacque, Jen and Sally, whom are best friends and would do anything for each other. They also bring plenty of comic relief, during stressful times, along with none stressful times. Fane Jacque’s mate, who’s so in love with her, is a passionate, dangerous Alpha male Prince, who’s tall, built and hot as hell to boot. Would do anything for her, as we see again and again. He cares about nothing, but keeping her safe and being with her.
The story moves along at a fast pace and when it ended, I was very disappointed. That is until I remembered there’s more books to go.
There’s definitely something brewing between Jen and one of the werewolves in Fanes pack, the beta( I can’t think of his name, it was quite different). Anyways if they get together it’s going to be a great read for sure. It was obvious they liked each other, while they’re all working on rescuing Jacque.
It was so beautiful at the end when Fane and Jacque, finally pledge themselves to each other, get blood bonded, married and are together for the first time. It was emotional for sure. I’m dying to read the next book, it’ll be book three of this series.
Blood Rites Jacque and Fane and gain must deal with yet another psycho wolf and new oppositions to their mating. Sparks beginning flying between another unexpected couple. Blood Rites is a darker story than Prince of Wolves, with much more violence and some really funny moments to give you a break from all the bad coming your way when you read this story.
There is a great deal to love about this book, you have the outspoken Jen, who really needs a filter but I am so glad she doesn’t have said filter. You have Jacgue, who, though very much out spoken like her friend Jen, tends to be a bit more tactful. Then you have Sally, who can verbally stand up for herself, keeps her friends grounded. I think my absolute favorite scene was when Lilly slapped Dillon, the whole scene was hilarious. Oh, wait then the was the Jen gets drunk scene from start to finish that had my highly entertained as well.
The only thing I really didn’t like about Blood Rites was the edits, if not for those this story would be getting a five-star rating. There were a number of what appears to be typos and a few sentences that have missing words. With the number of edits, I found my star rating was reduced to a two-star rating.

Unfortunately, similar plot to the first book. Still good.
