Fall in love with the world of deep, dark secrets and sexy bad men who know exactly what they want and aren’t afraid to take it.I’m a powerful man. Rich, handsome. There are others like me, and we all have one thing in common. One thing we like. Submission. I want you on your knees and asking for more.I have a set of rules. They are there for a reason – to protect us both. I don’t break them. … don’t break them. Until her.
Harlow Granger makes me break every. Single. One.
She is an obsession I can’t shake. An itch I can’t scratch. And finally, a pretty captive I can’t resist.
Meet your new owner, little rose. Unlike the other jerks you would have met if I hadn’t kidnapped you…
I’ll make you mine forever.

No Rainbows Here
I had to read this in small increments because I just couldn’t do more. There is A LOT of non-con / rape that happens. What is seemingly consensual is still non-con given the circumstances.
There are some beautiful parts but it is overshadowed by the dark. BUT! Hope is not lost! One rotten seed is dealt with and another needs to be handled soon (can’t come soon enough, in my opinion).
Harlow is broken repeatedly by many people in her life but what happens to her at “The Mansion” after she is kidnapped is horrific. Thorn had his own share of heartbreak, too but that doesn’t excuse his actions.
I read this as part of Rose and Thorn Complete Series: A Dark Captive Ballerina Romance Box Set released under Isabella Starling. I will finish this series but it will take at least a week, maybe two for that to happen.
very erotic
Fulfills that dark, dirty desire you don’t wish to admit
Harlows goes from her greatest triumph to what begins as her worst nightmare. The training reminds me of the feeling you get while reading ‘The Story of O’. Thorn watches her training through cameras. Neither he nor Harlow fully aware there are other forces working against them. If you like dark & dirty, this book has it. I can’t wait for the next book.
What can I say without sounding repetitive? I have no idea so here’s what I feel. I love this author and every single book, every teaser, every blurb made me dream and freak out at the same time. Dream because each story is unique and special and freak out because I know that we will have suspense and the unknown can be scary.
Fawn Bailey is the queen of the dark and steamy stories. Each book is special and intense… Oh boy…
Blood Red Rose is the first book from the Rose and Thorn series and after the prequel, Blush Pink Rose, that she gave us I was scared but my curiosity tooke the best of me and I couldn’t start it fast enough.
The first book gave us an insight of Harlow’s life, of her dreams of becoming a famous ballet dancer.
This second book focus on her life as well as Thorn, a mysterious and dark man, with some different tastes and…
One glimpse at Harlow and he knew he wanted her.
Jesus, what the hell happened? I knew I would encounter a dark story but this was so much more.
The plot is intense, superb, dark and super engaging. The interation between the characters is brutal, raw and crazy. I can’t say to much without spoiling but Dayum…
The way the story progressed left me anxious, nervous, mad and furious. I wanted to get into the book and hit someone.
How could I read it without being hooked…
Oh my lord Fawn… What have you done? This book is dark and hot at the same time. Should I felt guilty for thinking like this?
Can’t wait for the next book. Please give it to us soon.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Holy crap
So going into this I knew it would be dark and twisted. I knew it would push boundaries and man did it. I loved this story between Harlow(Rose) and Thorn.
Harlow is a fighter. This girl isn’t letting anyone take her spirit. She is doing everything she can to stay alive even while her body betrays her.
Thorn wants Harlow and will do everything he can to have her. He will also do everything he can to break her. But will it be too much?
If you love dark messed up stories that teat you apart. This is your story!
There is a prequel, Blush Pink Rose, which should be read first. This is the first part of a disturbingly dark ride. Did I mention dark? Because, yeah. Is there anything more innocent than a sheltered teenaged ballerina? Harlow attracts the dark Reuben Thorn. He patiently waits and watches until she turns 18 before he arranges for her to go to The Mansion. The Mansion is full of all kinds of unhelpful and cruel people, including the unsavoury Ellis and beautiful but not-quite-right Pia. There is punishment, obsession, and a surprise about what goes on in The Mansion. I love dark romance, and my mouth was hanging open a bit as I struggled to wrap my head around the dichotomies Ms Bailey set up. The ending is not a cliffhanger, but you know there is more to the story of Thorn and his Rose, and I can’t wait for the next twisted instalment.
This story was truly dark. I didn’t care to much for the words slut and whore being used so much, however it was a good read. I didn’t care also for the young girls that were being taken for such cruelties and used as slaves. I’m glad that Thorn finally got rid of Ellis because he seem just a sick as Thorn. I’m waiting to see what happens to Pia since she doesn’t seem to be getting any more of Thorn’s attention.
Blood Red Rose is a twisted dark romance between Thorn and Harlow. This is one of those books that once you start reading you don’t ever want to reach the last page . I loved every dark and twisted turn this story took. You should definitely read the prequel first in order to fully understand Thorn and Harlow. This author has truly captured a dark side of me that I didn’t know existed and what a journey it has been.
Wow! This book is full of darkness, steam and powerful emotions. An intense story of raw obsession, gritty pain and broken people. Definitely not for the faint of heart, this complex read is not pretty or fun. It is absorbing and enslaving. Even as it shocks and stuns you it ensnares you in its twisted web. I recommend that you read the prequel book: Blush Pink Rose. It is not absolutely necessary but it will give you a taste of this series, its characters and the overall concept. This way you can make an informed decision about whether this series will appeal to you. I personally loved it and can not wait for the next book to be released.
one girl whos shine just never dulls. hints of a plot brewing from jealousy, both from her past and her present. Twists and turns that I couldn’t predict. saddening yet beautiful ending. cant wait for the next book!
captivity, confusion, acceptance.
Not what I expected after Blush Pink Rose. I didn’t expect so much of this story to not involve Thorn, not directly anyway. I have quite a few questions that I hope will be answered in the next two books. Harlow/Rose is a very interesting character that I didn’t think would evolve as much as she did. Ready for what’s next.
Wow, from the very first page I was glued to my kindle with the dark, well written storyline and the strong characters made it really hard to put my kindle down! I was totally enthralled as the relationship evolved between Harlow and Thorn that I ended up reading this book in one sitting! I highly recommend reading this one!
It says that this is the first book of the series, and technically it is, but you really need the prequel to understand what’s going on in this story. It’s a quick read, and it will give you the background of Harlow and Thorn.
Harlow is a ballerina. She’s worked so hard to be where she is. On the night of her biggest performance when she’s getting plaudits and huge ballet companies are looking at her, she disappears.
Thorn has been watching Harlow, just waiting for it to be time to take her. Ever since he saw her the first time, he knew that she was going to be his. When it came time, he took her to the Mansion. That way she could be trained to be the perfect woman for him.
Poor Harlow. Her emotions get all kinds of played with. Her initial punishment is horrifying. She tries to stay strong the whole time, but there are people outside of Thorn who have their own motives when it comes to Harlow. I feel sorry for her. This is a dark story, with a lot of dark goings-on, but it is such a good one. I can’t wait for the next part so that I can find out what’s going on with all the various threads.
