I stared with the first two Wired books and got hooked. I’ve now read most of the Lei series. I’ve been to Ohau and Maui numerous times and Toby paints a great verbal image that allows my mind’s eye to see most of the locals. My plan is to read all of her books. It all started with a free book on Bookbub.
I love Toby Neal and every book I’ve read of hers has left me with some degree of a book hangover. After reading this one I’ve come to realize that I need to buckle up and brace myself because Lei Texeira is gonna take me on one hell of an adventure and I cannot wait!!!
I loved Lei. She’s a great character. I understand why she is the way that she is however it really just upset me that she won’t let herself be happy with her love interest. This was definitely a page turner, and I read it in one sitting. I would love to read more in this series. I understand that the author is trying to give the reader an idea …
Couldn’t put it down once I started it. Loved the main character. She is very human. She has several issues that she has to work through to make her stronger. She stumbles upon two young girls who have been brutlly murdered. That case snowballs into other similar cases. She then becomes the victim of a stalker. Could they be connected? Nail biter …
I enjoy murder mysteries and learning about Hawaii. I have now read several of her books and enjoyed them all.
The book has a good, solid plot and does a good job of character develoment of the main characters. There were a couple of little things that were not answered, however for the most part everything added up to a suspenseful and well thought out story which kept me interested and engaged. I enjoyed weaving in the personal and traumatic issues of …
I’ve read a few other of the Lei Crime Novels, so I’m doing this backward by reading the first one now. The characters are likable and you care about what happens to them so going back to the start after knowing where they end up was very revalatory. But not starting at the beginning didn’t hamper my enjoyment of the other books in the series. …
Not usually my genre, but I liked her character development. I appreciated her realisc portrayals of social ills, CPS, police work.
Looking for more books in this series. Recommended it to my sister and she loved it too! Great writing style. and action packed.
A lot of action, adventure, & crime and romance. I listened to most of this audiobook while I was out driving meeting friends then running errands.
Review of Blood Orchids by Toby Neal
This a fast action, rip-roaring mystery story by Neal.
Our hero, Officer Lei Texeira, seems indestructable as she overcomes obstacle after obstacle; I am sure that confronting even one of those threats would send most of us mortals to defeat. She even manages to fall in love along the way. What a …
I enjoyed this book overall, but WHY does the author have to include bad language & sexual situations? Especially when the book begins with a Bible verse? I don’t get it; profanity & sex do not have to be included to make a great read. Otherwise it was a good story with an exotic locale.
A good read. Plot moves along quickly.
Great read, couldn’t put it down.
I enjoyed the series
Enjoyable mystery that capture the islands well
Well written mystery that kept me on the edge of my seat!
Enjoy all of the books in this series
I have recently discovered this author and am currently reading her fifth release. Thoroughly enjoy that writing and her characters are very believable. Hope there are many more books to come.
I enjoyed this book! I would recommend it to anyone, that wants a good read.
