This book so far was my favorite. Of course we are just now getting into the main story for the most part. But I really enjoy it.
I loved all the characters development, not just Gerald but everyone else aground him as well. It is very clear that the book is not just about him but everyone.
My favorite part was Yennifer and Ciri and their …
Classic fantasy. This is a not-to-be-missed book. It came out a while back (2009). If you missed it, no time like the present to pick it up. It has layered depth to it, a rich world, and multi-dimensional characters.
I’m glad I read this book. It’s not like anything I usually read, so I enjoyed the novelty of it. The author jumped from one POV to another to advance the story, but for some reason, I had trouble connecting as much as I wanted to with the characters. I didn’t always understand their motivations, because there was a hidden agenda in the story …
When I saw that this was going to come out as a TV show, I had to read it. Now I can’t wait to see how it comes to life on the screen. Great book!
The Witcher, Geralt, has taken in a young girl named Ciri. She is the last of her royal line. Her family lay slain by the Nilfgaardians in the battle for Centra. He takes her to Kaer Morhen, the home of the witchers, to protect her and train her in their ways. But she is the first female to be trained by the witchers, and she is more than just a …
I listened to this book on Audible and although the characters felt cartoonish at first, once I was in the story, I was hooked and I loved the different narrated voices. The second instalment felt much more fluid and cohesive. I enjoyed it very much.
I got this Audio book from the library. Fantastic audio book plenty of action and suspense. Great series
i started this book because it was on the shelf (no idea where it came from)- and I was full on bitter there was no more Game Of Thrones books
read 100 pages, decided I dint like it
picked it up again for a plane ride, ended up reading every volume
there’s six or seven – make SURE you read them in the correct order
It has its ups and downs. At times I was engaged and thrilled and at times I was utterly bored. I think, perhaps it was like I feel during DnD games. Engaged and then wanting to sleep for a while out of disinterest. It happens.
Geralt of Rivia’s previous outings have been one-off monster hunting assignments. But now we ge the band back together! Ciri, Geralt, Yennefer and Dandilion are all present and accounted for!
I felt that it started off a bit slow, one very long episode under a “sanctuary tree” for loack of a better term. But the pace soon picks up and doesn’t …
Blood of Elves is the first full lenght novel in The Witchers serie. We are more following Ciri who will have her a sort of witcher training to learn how to defend herself and also will have a training with Yennefer to learn magic.
A really good book in this serie.
I enjoyed this switch from the short stories in the first two books, to a meatier story arc. We also get to see a lot more other characters, and even see the story from different characters’ POVs. If you’ve played the Witcher games, a lot of the interactions with the other characters start making a lot more sense. This also expands the world a lot …
Blood of Elves was really great. The writing and the story is truly magical. I loved how The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny helped to set up this book. I felt that I truly understood a lot of characters before diving into this book. While I am a big fan of Geralt I found myself so intrigued by Ciri. I really love her character. She has so much to …
